Dar al-Harb and Islamic Expansionism

It is commonplace to find in Islam the broad distinction between Dar al-Harb (the house of war) and Dar al-Islam (the house of Islam). The former has to do with the state of war the non-Muslim world is in with Islam. Until everyone fully submits to Allah, there can be no peace, and the infidel is considered to be an enemy at war with Islam.

Once everyone does submit to Allah and sharia law, then and only then can real peace exist in the world. Then we have the latter, Dar al-Islam. Thus we have a spectrum with on the one end, nations subject to sharia law and at the other end, nations which are not yet submitted to it, with various stages in between.

Islam is an expansionist faith, and all true Muslims wish to see all individuals submit to Allah and all nations fully comply with sharia law. This is one of the major struggles of our time. Plenty has been said on this over the years. One author I wish to highlight here is Dr. Peter Hammond.

In his 2005 book, Slavery, Terrorism and Islam: The Historical Roots and Contemporary Threat (revised third edition, 2010), he examines this in detail, looking at how Islamic jihad is taking place today, and how it has been since the beginning of Islam, 1400 years ago.

In his foreword to the book George Grant says this: “The most convulsive conflict of the past century, and indeed the most convulsive conflict of the past millennium, has undoubtedly been between Islam and Civilization; it has been between Islam and Freedom; it has been between Islam and Order; it has been between Islam and Progress; it has been between Islam and Hope.”

Exactly, and Dr Hammond documents this in great detail. It makes for scary reading, but we must not be unaware of what is taking place. As Hammond writes, “What few Westerners understand is that Muslim leaders who call for the overthrow of all governments and the establishment of an Islamic superstate controlling all aspects of life, for every person on earth, are not necessarily extremists on the fringe of Islam. Jihad, the subjugation and forcible conversion of all people to Islam and world domination are, in fact, central tenets of Islam. Jihad is the sixth pillar of Islam.”

Of course not every Muslim is intent on violent jihad: “Now, of course, most Muslims are neither terrorists nor terrorist sympathisers. While many Muslims publicly rejoiced over the news of the horrific terrorist attacks on New York and Washington D.C., most did not. We need to be careful not to blame all Muslims for what certain individuals do in the name of Islam. Of course, those peace-loving, law-abiding Muslims are not being consistent with the Jihad teachings of the Qur’an. They are probably more influenced by the Christian ideal of loving your neighbour than the Islamic doctrine of Jihad….

“However, it is important for us to recognise the Quranic roots which are quoted by the Muslim terrorists to support their atrocities. If this violent position does not represent Mainstream Islam, Muslim leaders must clearly denounce the literal application of these Jihad verses and declare apostate all Muslims who resort to terrorism as murderers destined to an eternity in hell.”

The truth is, Islam is not really a religion so much as a political ideology. It seeks global hegemony, and will not rest until the whole world bows the knee and submits. Remember, the word “Islam” means “submission”. In the book Hammond notes how Islam is spread and takes over non-Western countries.

His writing has been adopted and nicely rearranged by others. While it is already getting to be a bit dated, and its clear-cut divisions are not fully accurate, it nonetheless gives a good rough idea of how the process of Islamisation takes place. In a somewhat abbreviated form I offer this here:

Islamisation begins when there are sufficient Muslims in a country to agitate for their religious rights. When politically correct, tolerant, and culturally diverse societies agree to Muslim demands for their religious rights, some of the other components tend to creep in as well. Here’s how it works.

As long as the Muslim population remains around or under 2% in any given country, they will be for the most part being regarded as a peace-loving minority, and not as a threat to other citizens. This is the case in:
-United States – Muslim 0.6%
-Australia – Muslim 1.5%
-Canada – Muslim 1.9%

At 2% to 5%, they begin to proselytise from other ethnic minorities and disaffected groups, often with major recruiting from the jails and among street gangs. This is happening in:
-Germany – Muslim 3.7%
-United Kingdom – Muslim 2.7%

From 5% on, they exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to their percentage of the population. For example, they will push for the introduction of halal (clean by Islamic standards) food, thereby securing food preparation jobs for Muslims. They will increase pressure on supermarket chains to feature halal on their shelves — along with threats for failure to comply. This is occurring in:
-France – Muslim 8%
-Philippines – Muslim 5%
-Sweden – Muslim 5%

At this point, they will work to get the ruling government to allow them to rule themselves (within their ghettos) under Sharia, the Islamic Law. The ultimate goal of Islamists is to establish Sharia law over the entire world.

When Muslims approach 10% of the population, they tend to increase lawlessness as a means of complaint about their conditions. In Paris we are already seeing car-burnings. Any non-Muslim action offends Islam, and results in uprisings and threats, such as in Amsterdam, with opposition to Mohammed cartoons and films about Islam. Such tensions are seen daily, particularly in Muslim sections, in:
-Guyana – Muslim 10%
-India – Muslim 13.4%
-Israel – Muslim 16%

After reaching 20%, nations can expect hair-trigger rioting, jihad militia formations, sporadic killings, and the burnings of Christian churches and Jewish synagogues, such as in Ethiopia – Muslim 32.8%

At 40%, nations experience widespread massacres, chronic terror attacks, and ongoing militia warfare, such as in:
-Bosnia – Muslim 40%
-Chad – Muslim 53.1%

From 60%, nations experience unfettered persecution of non-believers of all other religions (including non-conforming Muslims), sporadic ethnic cleansing (genocide), use of Sharia Law as a weapon, and Jizya, the tax placed on infidels, such as in:
-Albania – Muslim 70%
-Malaysia – Muslim 60.4%

After 80%, expect daily intimidation and violent jihad, some State-run ethnic cleansing, and even some genocide, as these nations drive out the infidels, and move toward 100% Muslim, such as has been experienced and in some ways is on-going in:
-Egypt – Muslim 90%
-Gaza – Muslim 98.7%
-Indonesia – Muslim 86.1%
-Iran – Muslim 98%
-Iraq – Muslim 97%

100% will usher in the peace of ‘Dar-es-Salaam’ the Islamic House of Peace. Here there’s supposed to be peace, because everybody is a Muslim, the Madrasses are the only schools, and the Koran is the only word, such as in:
-Afghanistan – Muslim 100%
-Saudi Arabia – Muslim 100%

As I said, the figures are now not fully accurate, but the general sense of how this process works is nicely contained in this piece of information. The fuller version of it is found in the link below (one of many sites) and of course the bigger picture is found in Dr Hammond’s book, which is well worth getting.

  1. If Australia is only 1.5% Muslim, and demands of muslim rights begins at 2%, how come so many foods are already halal? It’s becoming a real chore to shop and to watch for items that are non-halal as I flatly refuse to pay the islamic council of Australia one penny if I can help it. Any goods sold with the halal sign, pays a percentage to this council. Not on my watch if I can help it, but some manufacturers have woken up to the fact that there are people watching out for it and have removed the little symbol, e.g. Cadbury, but the muslims know that Cadbury is made according muslim principles!
    More clarity required?

Yes, as I said above, the numbers are changing, and the strict divisions are a bit inaccurate. Thus we now have 2.2% of the Australian population which is Muslim, and they have for years been pushing for, and getting, halal foods, sharia finance, sharia family law, etc. So they are well on the way.

  3. I just recently read: Shariah – The Threat to America – An Exercise in Competitive Analysis, Report of Team B II. It is published in the United States by the Center for Security Policy Press, available from Amazon.
It is a hair-raising account of the penetration of the Muslim Brotherhood (and/or its front organisations) in just about every American Government Agency and Department, which has been going on for years, e.g. one of President Bill Clinton’s special advisers was found out to be an Hamas member, and a member of the MB had become an instructor of FBI agents. Yet, on the whole the American administrations, both Republican and Democratic don’t see, or more likely don’t want to see the danger in spite of the MB having made it quite plain that they are committed to the overthrow of the American Democratic system and its Constitution and to be replaced by Shariah.

  5. I have been wondering for a while if it is possible to have a viable alternative to the sharia finance that is biblically based rather than on free market principles, which are not unbiblical, but have a few too many holes to allow unrestricted greed to infiltrate if not take over entire sections.
The appeal Islam is trying to capitalise on is that their system is more ethical than our capitalist model and many fall for that.

  6. Bill, I notice Nigeria is not among the examples listed, although it suffers a lot in the 40%+ categories.

Ursula, the original form of a Credit Co-operative or Credit Union may be what you are looking for (specialised in personal and small business finance) – not the current large bodies which look like banks, though. And the old Building Societies, both Permanent and Terminating, which specialised in housing finance.

  7. Thanks for this Bill,
Many pennies dropped when I read this piece. The information in it needs to be very widely disseminated. Thanks again for the light.

  8. Bill,
There is no peace in 100% muslim nations. If you hear of what happens in these nations there will be no peace. There will no peace on Earth until Christ returns.
