Yes, it has been at least a week since my last instalment on the ‘tolerance brigade’. Simply wait a few days and a whole new batch of examples of how these guys operate comes to light, demonstrating how very much they are into acceptance, diversity, and freedom.
You can always count on them to show us yet again how accommodating, how loving, and how open-minded they are. The truth is, the homosexual activists are simply bullies who are bent on forcing everyone to acquiesce to their agenda or face the music.
And of course these are the same guys who implore all of us to be into tolerance and to recognise differences! Yeah right, tell us more about how you are into acceptance and differences of opinion. Tell us more about how you champion the right of everyone to think as they choose to. Tell us more about how you stand up for genuine diversity.
The most recent example of the tolerance brigade at work comes from a New York town where the activists are again demanding that small business owners violate their own consciences and principles so that the militants can have their way.
One report covers the story this way: “Two New York women who say they were turned away from a potential wedding site because they are lesbians have filed a discrimination complaint. Advocates say the complaint filed with the state Division of Human Rights is among the first of its kind since New York legalized same-sex weddings last year.
“Melisa Erwin and Jennie McCarthy, of Albany, say they filed the complaint Oct. 11 after Liberty Ridge Farm told them they could not use the site for their wedding next summer. ‘When we asked why [the owners told us], “That’s what my husband and I decided. We’ve been married a long time and it’s great you’re getting married and all, but you can’t do it here”,’ McCarthy told WNYT-TV.
“The farm has had a growing presence of weddings on its premises. This year, alone, 15 nuptials were booked. But with gay marriage being so new in New York State — and with this being one of the first cases of alleged discrimination – there’s no telling how the legalities will play out. Despite critique, owner Robert Gifford is adamant about not hosting gay marriages at Liberty Ridge. ‘I think it’s our right to choose who we market to, like any business,’ he said in an interview with WNYT last week. ‘We are a family business and we just feel we ought to stay down the family path’.”
Another story from a few days earlier has really got to take the cake. Consider this headline: “B&B Fined for Hurting Gay Couple’s Feelings”. Yes you heard me right – their feelings were hurt. One news item reported on this story as follows:
“In a case that demonstrates the gay agenda’s threat to small business owners, the Christian owner of a bed and breakfast broke equality laws when she didn’t allow a gay couple to share a double bed, a judge ruled. Susanne Wilkinson, owner of the Swiss Bed and Breakfast, has been ordered to pay £3,600 (nearly $6,000) in damages for hurting the feelings of a homosexual couple, Michael Black and John Morgan.
“Wilkinson says she was trying to uphold her sincere beliefs about marriage at the bed and breakfast in Cookham, Berkshire. Although the judge believed she was genuine about her Christian beliefs—beliefs that had also caused her to stop unmarried heterosexual couples from sharing a double bed—he nevertheless ruled that the policy broke equality laws by discriminating directly against the gays.”
Hey, guess what, my feelings are hurt when I hear about such idiocy, and about such ugly jackboot rulings by PC judges. Will I get damages too because of my hurt feelings? Or is all this just one-way traffic here? But I guess we already know the answer to those questions.
The last case of homosexual intolerance and bullying also comes from the UK. Another Christian is being hammered for daring to stand true to his convictions. The story runs this way: “A Christian housing manager had his salary slashed after allegedly being ‘entrapped’ by a lesbian colleague into criticising gay marriage on his private Facebook page, a court heard yesterday.
“Adrian Smith, 55, had posted a link to an article about plans for civil partnership ceremonies in churches with his own comment: ‘An equality too far.’ After a lesbian colleague asked if that meant he didn’t approve, he posted that he could not understand ‘why people who have no faith and don’t believe in Christ would want to get hitched in church’. Another colleague complained that the comment was offensive, despite having not seen the post, and Mr Smith was disciplined and had his post downgraded and his salary cut by £14,000.
“Yesterday the married father-of-one launched a court battle to overturn the decision and win back lost earnings. They stand at nearly £4,000 for the past 18 months, according to his legal team. However, his future lost earnings which he could seek to recoup should he fail to overturn his demotion are likely to be at least £60,000. It is the latest in a series of claims by Christians that they have been discriminated against for expressing their beliefs at work.”
Yep, it seems to be all-out war alright. The militants have decided that they will go after anyone who dares to have a different point of view, and punish them to the max – all in the name of tolerance of course. They will neither sleep nor eat until every last iota of opposition is completely wiped off the map.
Wow, if all this thuggery and fascism is coming about in the name of tolerance, I wonder how these guys would operate in their intolerant days.
