On Kermit Gosnell

On who? If you asked that question then that means the mainstream media has once again been doing its job – of censoring news and covering up important stories. This is one of the most spectacular news items to break in the US recently, yet almost no one knows about it, thanks to all the PC lefties in the MSM.

This huge story has been almost completely ignored by the pro-abortion mainstream media, but every media outlet in the country is covering this major news item: the weight gain happening to a pregnant Kim Kardashian. Go figure.

For those unaware – because of the MSM blackout – Gosnell is an infamous baby killer who is on trial right now, and the revelations about his house of horrors keep getting more horrific each passing day. Although the trial began in Philadelphia back on March 18, very little has been heard about it, even though he is accused of killing seven babies who survived abortions.

As one news report says, “A basketball coach who shoves and curses at his players merits constant coverage by a media also transfixed by Newtown. But a Philadelphia doctor on trial for murdering a woman and seven babies? It’s ignored.

“Those who get their news from the three major networks have probably not heard of Dr. Kermit Gosnell, now on trial in Philadelphia, charged with seven counts of first-degree murder and one count of third-degree murder for killing seven babies who survived abortions and a woman who died after a botched pain-killer injection.

“Everybody has heard of Mike Rice, the disgraced former Rutgers basketball coach who was fired after video surfaced of him shoving, kicking and yelling at his players, throwing basketballs at them and — most damning — using ‘homophobic slurs.’ According to the Media Research Center, in one week Rice received 41 minutes, 26 seconds of air time on ABC, CBS and NBC in 36 separate news stories. Gosnell received zero coverage….

“Kermit Gosnell faces 43 criminal counts, including eight counts of murder in the death of one patient, Karnamaya Monger, and seven newborn infants. Additional charges include conspiracy, drug delivery resulting in death, infanticide, corruption of minors, evidence tampering, theft by deception, abuse of corpse and corruption.

“Gosnell’s clinic was inspected only after a federal drug raid in 2010. It was the first time the facility had been inspected in 17 years because state officials ignored complaints and failed to visit Gosnell’s Women’s Medical Society, the clinic’s official name, for years.”

In a very rare exception, USA Today did do a story on this yesterday, in which it said in part: “Infant beheadings. Severed baby feet in jars. A child screaming after it was delivered alive during an abortion procedure. Haven’t heard about these sickening accusations?

“It’s not your fault. Since the murder trial of Pennsylvania abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell began March 18, there has been precious little coverage of the case that should be on every news show and front page. The revolting revelations of Gosnell’s former staff, who have been testifying to what they witnessed and did during late-term abortions, should shock anyone with a heart.

“NBC-10 Philadelphia reported that, Stephen Massof, a former Gosnell worker, described how he snipped the spinal cords of babies, calling it, ‘literally a beheading. It is separating the brain from the body.’ One former worker, Adrienne Moton, testified that Gosnell taught her his ‘snipping’ technique to use on infants born alive.

“Massof, who, like other witnesses, has himself pleaded guilty to serious crimes, testified ‘It would rain fetuses. Fetuses and blood all over the place.’ Here is the headline the Associated Press put on a story about his testimony that he saw 100 babies born and then snipped: ‘Staffer describes chaos at PA abortion clinic.’

“‘Chaos’ isn’t really the story here. Butchering babies that were already born and were older than the state’s 24-week limit for abortions is the story. There is a reason the late Democratic senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan called this procedure infanticide.”

Commentators have been writing about this regularly in the alternative media. John Jalsevacgg said this: “‘If Dr. Gosnell had walked into a nursery and shot seven infants with an AR-15, it would be national news and the subject of presidential hand-wringing.’ That was the challenging observation made this morning by Rep. Chris Smith, R-NJ, on the floor of the U.S. House.

“Because Kermit Gosnell instead allegedly snipped the spinal cords of seven newborn babies in a building called an abortion clinic, the national media has almost uniformly ignored the case, said Smith, something that he charged amounted to a deliberate ‘cover-up.’

“‘Will the decades-long major national news media cover-up of the brutality—and violence—of abortion methods ever end?’ asked Smith. ‘Will Americans ever be told the horrifying details as to how—and how often—abortionists dismember, decapitate, and chemically poison innocent babies?’”

Chris Smith also asked, “Will Americans ever be informed by a conscientious, unbiased news media that in the past 40 years, over 55 million child victims have been brutally killed by abortion—a staggering loss of children’s lives that equates to the entire population in England? And that many women have been hurt physically, emotionally, psychologically—and according to the Center for Disease Control over 400 women have actually died from legal abortions.

“Will Americans ever be told that of the 55 million children, Planned Parenthood alone claims responsibility for destroying over 6 million babies and that just two weeks ago a Planned Parenthood leader in Florida testified at a legislative hearing on a state initiative to protect born alive infants that even when a child survives an abortion, the decision to assist or kill the born alive infant should be ‘up to the woman, her family and her physician.’ In other words, even if a child intended to be aborted survives the assault, the choice to kill remains—so called after birth abortion. Isn’t that extreme child abuse?”

Jill Stanek writes, “The reason the media and pro-abortion politicians are ignoring Gosnell’s trial is because Gosnell was an abortionist. Seven of his victims were killed after they had been aborted, and one died after she had aborted. Why would people who believe in legalized abortion want to shed negative light on bad things that happen during legalized abortions?

“Truth be told, I don’t think these people consider abortion survivors as real people – or Gosnell a mass murderer. Calling Gosnell a ‘mass murderer’ for completing abortions outside the uterus brings them too close to pro-lifers who call abortionists mass murderers for completing abortions just a few inches the other way.”

Finally, Mark Steyn remarks, “So how many dead American babies does it take to make the news? I wrote two-and-a-half weeks ago about the U.S. media’s determination to ignore a story that’s inconvenient to their biases. But, given the gun-banners’ ceaseless grief-feasting on Sandy Hook, at some point doesn’t the corpse count in Philadelphia merit maybe, oh, a thousandth of the attention?…

“So . . . if a baby screams during an outside-the-uterus ‘abortion,’ does it make a sound? Or, to put it another way, if an abortionist goes on trial for murdering infants, but the media refuses to cover it, is it really happening? The U.S. media’s unanimous agreement to see no evil is sick and totalitarian. A very small consolation is that, with news judgments like these, the wretched American press is doing a pretty good job of sawing through its own neck.”

This media blackout is a perfect example of why the alternative media exists, and why I have CultureWatch operating 24/7. The lamestream media are not reporting the news – they are involved in secular left propaganda. So if people want to hear the truth, they must rely on the alternative media.

Truth desperately needs to get out into the public arena. I will keep doing that until they jail me, shut down my site, or death overtakes me.

  1. Excellent article Bill. And I hope you do not mind that I have taken parts (from the reports you mention) as example in a letter to all the Parliamentarians in Tasmania who are about to cast ‘conscience’ votes on increasing the number of babies murdered here.

I attended a ‘silent’ March the other day, to Parliament. The TV interview with the organiser was disrupted by a lone ranting feminist, shouting and gesticulating. She, of course, featured on the ABC News and the Organisers’s words were ignored. So were the people on the march. Oh, except for some recognition by Premier Giddings who refused to meet the marchers but featured on the same news complaining about children being amongst the marchers.

Evil is banal. The ABC chooses it’s sides.

  2. Most of us know women who have had miscarriages, and sometimes a well-developed foetus dies in the womb or there is a still birth. Usually these women are very sad, often devastated, as are their husbands.

On the other hand we have the inhuman situation described above where even born babies are treated like unwanted kittens. It’s hard to comprehend the hellish attitude that so many people have to fellow huiman beings(although its origin can’t be much in doubt).

  3. Thanks Bill. I have been following this story via Mark Steyn and PJ Media as well and feelings of anger and despair well up whenever it is mentioned. Reading the MSM frustrates me no end with its news full of non-stories that brainwash the population all the way to a lethargic acceptance of what the left want us to believe.
With regular reading of your excellent blog and also having just read Mark Steyn’s excellent book “After America” I am determined that my contribution to the world is going to be a positive one.

  4. It needs to be pointed out that under God’s perfect standard of justice, the media that decides to not report this is equally guilty of the same crimes. It is as if they did the very same things. Despicable doesn’t really cover it, but Isaiah 1 does.

What is especially sad is that many Christians continue to view mainstream media as reliable when they are in the business of programming your mind to a certain narrative. They prove over and over they are not worth your time, especially our own communist tax-payer funded propaganda outlet, the ABC.

  5. If I treated baby animals like aborted babies are treated and people saw the actual bodies and evidence, they would be white with rage at what a monster I am.

  6. Bill, you are at the top of my list for finding these hidden truths and news items that the MSM usually fails to cover/deliberately withholds.

Have you ever done an article recommending all your top go-to alternate media websites?

I would really like to find more trustworthy news/truth proclaimers.

    Thanks for the truth!

  7. Thanks Simon

I don’t think I have yet, but it is a good idea. So stay tuned, I may try to do something on that soonish. Thanks again.

  8. The following is the text of a message whichI sent to the ABC earlier this evening:
“I have been following the Kermit Gosnell murder trial in the USA for several weeks but there has been no coverage by the local media here in Australia. It’s time this very important case made the news here.”

I’m not going to hold my breath.

  9. Hello Bill
I’ve been reading your blog daily for a few years now and I just want to thank you for the work that you do through your website. This particular article is very disturbing and I’m at a loss as to explain how a medical doctor could carry out such a demonic practice.
God bless and keep on telling the truth.
    Dr Pita

  10. Strange that we just erected a statue to Rosa Parks in the Capitol Rotunda, for refusing to take a back seat in the bus, but an African American doctor can murder women of color and their born infants with savage glee and callous comments, “this fellow could walk with me to the bus.”
Oh and the white women get a special waiting room. Yet the mainstream media are silent. Are they secretly racist?

  11. Hello Bill,

I have now managed to send my message about the Gosnell trial to TEN, SEVEN, NINE, and SBS as well the ABC. I also searched their news sites for any reference to Gosnell and drew a blank in each and every case.

LifeSite News says that AbortionWiki is running a Tweetfest to-day in an attempt to goad the mainstream media into reporting on this case.

    Donald Battaglini

  12. Thanks again Donald for more excellent work. Sadly, your results are not surprising however.

And yes, please tweet this hashtag:

  13. How is what Gosnell is doing different from any other abortionist? This is the real hypocrisy of the whole situation. We see the media get up in arms over a few deaths by guns, but the never complain about the thousands of deaths each and every day by “legal” abortion. The whole irony of the whole situation is that what Gosnell is doing is far safer for the mother.

    Ian Nairn

  14. I have sent the link to your story to my five local and state members:

Greetings. Just thought this most unreported story of the decade from the USA might be of interest to you since you and certain members of your government support such things right here in Victoria. I am expecting a similar story to come out in Victoria at some stage. Hope you are ready?
    Yours Sincerely
    Robert Withall

  15. Mr. Nairne, I am somewhat at a loss to understand what you mean by the remark that ‘what Gosnell is doing is far safer for the Mother’. How could this be? After all, she is complicit in the murder of her own child, and believe me, this stays with her for the rest of her life, and even drives many women into a state of permanent depression. I know, as I spent some years treating some in the large Psychiatric Hospitals – believe me, it is not easy to assuage guilt! So how can what this man did be ‘safer for the Mother’.?
I mean no disrespect to you, I just don’t quite understand your reasoning.
    Joan Davidson

  16. Unfortunately if they admit killing a baby seconds after birth is murder they may have to admit killing the same baby in the birth canal is also murder. The only difference between partial birth abortion and what Gosnell did is a few cms.

    Kylie Anderson

  17. I’m hyper surprised by this but the Age actually ran one syndicated story on this trial about six weeks ago. Given the sheer level of what I can only describe as propaganda in this newspaper recently I’m double surprised by this. It will be interesting to see if they ever publish on it again. A quick and rough search failed to find any follow up age stories however and equally odd I failed to find the story in any of the other mainstream Australian outlets…

    http://www.theage.com.au/world/house-of-horrors–doctor-goes-on-trial-for-eight-deaths-20130304-2fh56.html

    Andrew Stagg

  18. Thanks for that Andrew

Yes it is surprising, but of course if it was a story about a Christian committing some atrocity, it would be front page on the Age and every other MSM outlet for weeks on end.

    Bill Muehlenberg, CultureWatch

  19. Joan, I think what Ian is saying is that for the mother early induced labor is safer than a D&C. Our society calls one murder and the other an abortion but in God’s eyes both are murder. Not only Gosnell but every abortionist should be on trial for murder. The hypocrisy is that if the baby’s head is in the birth canal when it’s spinal cord is severed it’s abortion but if the baby is fully born it’s murder.

    Kylie Anderson

  20. Kylie, in contrast to your statement that “…killing a baby seconds after birth is murder…”, here in Victoria, Australia, the Parliament specifically rejected an Amendment which would have protected the life of babies born alive in an abortion. Any such baby has no legal right to remain alive, and others [parents etc] are not legally entitled to defend that life. And they are legally killed – either directly or by the denial of sustenance. How guilty am I to allow these atrocities?

    Gerard Flood

  21. God’s justice will require satisfaction for all this and then people will wonder where His mercy has gone —- not so far as theirs, is the answer — for even this horror , He will forgive all who truly repent and turn to Him.
    Anna Cook

  22. Yes you are right Gerard. Victorian law is unconscionable and now they are trying to push the same thing through in Tasmania. And we will keep fighting until the law is changed.
    Kylie Anderson

  23. God Bless you Bill. Keep exposing these horrific murders because that is without argument exactly what is happening.
If I can help in anyway let me know. Keep on fighting the good fight!

    Karen Whyte

  24. @ Joan Davidson.Read this article from Lifesitenews. It basically explains what I said. http://www.lifesitenews.com/news/is-gosnell-really-all-that-bad It basically explains what an abortion requires and asks this question: Is this really better than what Gosnell did? How is an agonizing, 45-minute-long dismemberment better than a quick snip?

Of course the answer is no, but if we are going to do it, then doing it after is actually safer for the mother since all the baby is out of the womb and thus safer since there is no more intrusion into the womb and thus less chance of harming the mother. Both are just as bad as each other and the irony I was pointing out is that the safer option is illegal in comparison to the less safe option and yet if they were to admit that, then there is a conundrum since it would basically admitting that the unborn child is human and thus ruin the whole point of abortion. The point was to show the other sides hypocrisy in the whole situation. We maintain that both are wrong and yet they have made an immoral equivalence that one situation is right and one is wrong.

    Ian Nairn

  25. Thank God for you, Bill. Keep on shouting it out. We need to shout from the rooftops the evils that are shut away in dark, slimy corridors. The most horrific thought to me is that this is not the end; this is not the only horror in their halls of shame. Magnify this by millions and we are starting to get the picture of the blood washed crimes of our times.

    Dee Graf

  26. I’m with you Bill. I have sent letters to the White House asking why Obama shed crocodile tears for the Cincinnati killings whilst he pumps millions of our dollars into the abortion groups by way of the new health care system? Now that is real Hypocrisy for you. And do you think I got a reply???
As far as I am concerned this guy has an agenda for America and so far he is getting away with it and it’s not good. As for getting rid of the guns wouldn’t the logical first step be to go all out and take them off the crooks first?

    Dennis Newland

  27. Why should it be that that only Gosnell is sentenced to death, whereas the mother who intentionally sought for the abortion is not sentenced to death? Is she not also a murderer? She is. Therefore, should Gosnell be sentenced to death, so should the mother.
    Janice Tooh
