Whom the Gods Would Destroy…

OK, so Euripides is not a contemporary observer of modern culture. In fact he lived some 2,500 years ago. But his pithy little aphorism is most appropriate for the West in 2013. He of course famously said this: “Whom the gods would destroy, they first make mad.”

And the level of craziness in the West, leading to its sure destruction, seems to be reaching a point of no return. I am not sure things can get much madder, while expecting the West to carry on for much longer. The horror stories coming out each day – mind you, more often than not just coming out in the alternative media – are absolutely mind-boggling.

And the most recent example of diabolical moonbattery simply has to take the cake. If this episode does not convince you that something is rotten in, not just in the state of Denmark, as the saying goes, but the entire Western world, then you are beyond reasoning with.

This case, hailing from the US, will likely be replicated elsewhere. It is one of those mind-boggling things which just leaves you in a state of utter disbelief. And I looked – it is not April 1. So we have here a real story, with real implications for an imploding West, and the death of a culture.

The headline says it all: “Gov’t Spending $152,500 to Study Voice Therapy for Transgenders”. Yep, you read right. Now our tax dollars are going to voice lessons for guys who want to be girls but don’t want to sound like guys – or for girls who want to be guys but don’t want to sound like girls.

I kid you not. This whole matter is so completely perverse and idiotic that even I am left speechless here. I just don’t have words left to comment here. Thus all I can do is present to you the full article, and leave you to decide what reaction to this must be made:

The federal government is spending $152,000 to study “voice therapy” for transgenders, saying it is incumbent to being “accepted as one’s preferred gender. This study will illuminate the capabilities of the human larynx and inform the relationship between voice production and perception,” states a National Institutes of Health (NIH) grant, awarded to George Washington University. “The long term goal of this research is to inform and provide new directions for Transgender (TG) voice care, thereby improving the lives of TG people who feel their voice is a great obstacle to living as their preferred gender.”

“Incomplete gender presentation can negatively impact the TG individual’s job opportunities, relationships, and social acceptance,” the study explains. “Results of this project will advance an aspect of gender transition vital to being accepted as one’s preferred gender and living a successful, healthy life.”

George Washington University received $152,500 in 2012 from the NIH’s National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders. Adrienne B. Hancock, an assistant professor at GWU, is leading the project. According to the University, her primary research addresses “transgender voice and communication.” “She has examined transgender voice physiology as well as the psychosocial influence of voice and communication skills for transgender speakers,” her bio states.

The project will compare male-to-female transgender voices with men and women voices, judged by 100 listeners to “judge the gender” of the speech samples. Those male-to-female transgenders who pass as a female voice will be placed in a separate group and then compared to those who still sound like men.

“Like voice therapy for other populations, [transgender] voice therapy should be grounded in knowledge of the vocal mechanism of the speaker,” the grant states. “It should not resort, as it currently does, to establishing acoustic goals based exclusively on differences between normative values of two gender groups and assumed gender perception boundaries.”

The study hopes to influence voice therapy methods for transgenders by its project end date in August 2014. Its public health relevance statement reads: “The production and perception results of this study will inform voice therapy clinical protocols for Transgender speakers who face discrimination when their voice does not match their preferred gender presentation, which limits their ability to contribute to society and live healthy, safe lives.”

Although CNSNews.com asked the NIH for comment on this particular grant, the agency’s public affairs office responded by e-mail with a general statement that read, “NIH research addresses the full spectrum of human health across all populations of Americans. Behavioral research will continue to be an important area of research supported by NIH.  The details of the specific grant that you are inquiring about, including funding amounts and project start and end dates, can be found on NIH Reporter.”

  1. So they sound like their original gender. Who would have thought that?

  2. Why is it the governments responsibility to fund such research? If “transgender” people want to sound more like the person their surgery and hormone therapy has turned them into they should practice speaking lower or higher as they case may be. Tax payers should not be paying for an elective choice of “sex change” any more than they should be paying for breast augmentation.

  3. Bill, they meddle with our God’s marvelous mechanism for teaching babies how to speak. Over the final few months of intra-uterine life, the babe relishes the voice of the mother.
When the child is delivered, an immediate association of the mother’s voice is effective. God chose the Mother to teach the child to speak. Hence the ‘mother tongue – never father’s gabble’. If the mother has now a fabricated voice, so will the child’s language, generating confusion in speech and conduct. More therapy essential.
Among bible translators, two to one are woman, because of their sensitivity to hear departures from ‘normal’ phonetics and phonemics (grammar) which permit the finesse of language mastery. Wycliffe bible Translators aim within 25 years to reduce the remaining diverse languages, about 6,000 to analysis, to give the precious bible in their ‘mother tongue.’
They need men and women with appreciation of sound as God gave it. And a heart willingness to devote their lives to this pursuit. DON’T MEDDLE WITH GOD’S FINE ART.

  5. But what about those who change from being a man into a woman, but then change back into being man again. And what about those who want to keep their options open by being genderless.
Perhaps the best way of changing the voice would be through wearing especially tight underwear or shoes.

  6. You know, Jesus says that in the last times the love of many will grow cold, sadly I think this applies to a lot of Christians as well, they are so saddened and angered by all this crap that they just simply throw their hands up and let these people go their own way, and reap the destructive consequences, these articles are getting worse in what you are coming up with Bill, however, as increasingly hard as it is to pray for these people, I tell myself that I must still pray for them, it just gets harder each time you read about increasingly unstable stuff like this.

  7. The ancient Graeco-Roman myths associated with the pagan cult of the god, Dionysos, or Bacchus, as he was known to the Romans, include elements of transgenderism as well as mystery rites which included frenzied, demonic violence against young sacrificial “kids of the goats”. Ancient Greek tragedy emerged as an integral part of the ancient Athenian feast to Dionysos, the Dionysia. Madness and intra-family violation of social taboos are frequent themes in the plays of the ancient Greek tragedians, one of whom was the playwright, Euripides.

Such are the ancient Classical-period mythological and cultural ideological antecedents of today’s Pro-Choice and transsexual causes…

Transgender persons generally evince an almost “evangelistic” zeal for their belief that they were born into a body of a different gender to that of their personal psyche… a strong belief paralleled by the strong convictions of body dysmorphics that they will become the persons they were meant to be, only if they undergo amputation of a part of their body which they feel is not rightly theirs!

  8. I asked a lesbian and women-only bed and breakfast in Cornwall if they would take a transsexual women. They aplogised and said that due to some unhappy experience they refuse trans women. But according to the Human Rights Commission this is transphobia. Even when I explained that some butch lesbians are more masculine than some men and some transsexuals pass off easily as pretty, demure women, they refused me accommodation.

Maybe others might contact them and get it in writing, via email, why they are able to discriminate against trannies. Send it Bill and maybe he could send it to me.

The significance of this is that Mr and Mrs Bull who run a Christian Bed and Breakfast, called Chymorvah, also in Cornwall, Uk were fined £3600 for refusing a double bed to two queers and have had their business destroyed as a consequence:
