Islam, Christianity, and Clueless Wonders

There are certain home truths which need to be repeated over and over again. Here are three of them:

-If imperialistic communism was the great evil of the day last century, imperialistic Islam is the great evil of our time.
-Just as many clueless Westerners supported communism (“useful idiots” as Lenin called them), so too there are plenty of clueless Westerners supporting Islam today.
-There was and is no better example of such clueless wonders as found in our liberal and Christ-denying mainstream churches.

Just as plenty of leftist Christians who had long ago abandoned the gospel went all out in supporting communism, there are heaps of these folks today acting as major cheerleaders for Islam. They will seldom actually say anything about biblical Christianity, but they will hop on board every latest trendy social cause.

So they will whoop it up for Islam while castigating actual Christians. Happens all the time sadly. We had some of these apostates for example at the trial of two Christian pastors some years ago, actually siding with their Muslim persecutors. See here: https://billmuehlenberg.com/2004/12/18/is-this-the-death-of-christianity-in-australia/

useful-idiotAnd it is still happening, big time. When Tony Abbott rightly said we need to show a bit of national cohesion as we deal with Islamic terrorism, we have had plenty of trendy lefties in and out of the churches calling for his head. Simply arguing that we all should be on board “team Australia” has got these liberals in a lather.

Moreover, when sensible voices speak truth about the very real war the free West is locked in with political Islam, these clueless wonders attack the messenger and deny reality. As an illustration of this, several weeks ago the former head of the army, Peter Leahy, said that we may well be fighting radical Islam for 100 years.

He said: “Australia is involved in the early stages of a war which is likely to last for the rest of the century. We must be ready to protect ourselves and, where necessary, act pre-emptively to neutralise the evident threat. Get ready for a long war.”

But for these remarks, and those of Mr Abbott’s, the lunar left is out in force, including the spiritually derelict mainline churches, and others from liberal segments of other religions. As one report says:

Christian, Jewish and Muslim leaders united behind the sign on the steps of Lakemba Mosque in Sydney’s southwest on Friday afternoon, preaching a message of faith-traversing harmony. Uniting Church minister Eleni Poulous said the stand was provoked by the “We’ll fight Islam 100 years” headline in The Weekend Australian which she said disturbed many church leaders.
“We feel (the Muslim community) has been unfairly targeted in these media reports and public conversation,” she told AAP. She described Prime Minister Tony Abbott’s “Team Australia” language regarding the new terrorism laws as “not helpful” and called for a change in rhetoric.

Umm, absolutely no surprises here. So much of the Uniting Church has basically sold its soul to the devil, and has traded biblical truth for every leftist cause around. This time they are demonstrating what “useful idiots” Western dhimmis can be.

Of course these morally and mentally challenged Christians are joined here by all the usual riffraff from the secular left. Plenty of folks have been chewing out Abbott and his “team Australia” comments. Uber-feminist and lefty Anne Summers for example said:

“If terrorism is best fought by giving everyone a stake in our society, removing reasons for alienation and encouraging us all to feel pride as well as ownership of our country, then Mr Abbott’s Team Australia is not exactly setting the pace.”

And former Liberal prime minister Malcolm Fraser – who should have joined Labor decades ago – also came out with more brainless baloney:

Former Liberal prime minister Malcolm Fraser has labelled Tony Abbott’s use of the term Team Australia “divisive” and “counter-productive”. Mr Abbott used the phrase when announcing plans for new anti-terrorism laws, raising concerns among community leaders.
The Islamic Council of Victoria (ICV), which represents more than 150,000 Muslims, boycotted Mr Abbott’s meeting with Muslim leaders in Melbourne after he told a radio station that “everyone has got to be on Team Australia”. Mr Fraser said the Prime Minister’s choice of language was “terrible”. “It resonates very, very badly with Australia’s ethnic communities,” he told AM.

Oh puh-leeese. Will someone put these folks out to pasture? It is the same old useful idiocy played over and over again. Never mind the horrible reality of Islamic terrorism; never mind all the beheadings, acid attacks, and suicide bombers. The only bad guy here is Tony Abbott. So let’s just all get along and be one big happy family.

Yeah right. There is no country in the world that has lasted long when it was not allowed to insist upon a modicum of agreed to values and beliefs. The simple truth is, if people cannot agree that freedom, democracy and rule of law are vital, and want instead to push sharia law, jihad, and death to the infidels, then no Western nation is under any obligation to harbour such folks.

There is nothing wrong in the least in demanding a bit of loyalty to a host nation, and an adherence to its basic values and core concerns. Tony Abbott is not being troublesome and divisive here. His many detractors are however. And it is time we got very clear about the nature of Islam real soon.

Another home truth we have to keep reiterating is this: while there are many moderate Muslims out there, Islam itself is not moderate. So in that sense, the only true Muslim is the one who is willing to spread his faith and sharia law, and be willing to die for it as well.

For those who can’t be bothered reading about this, let me just mention two short video clips. The very best response to the notion of “moderate Muslims” is found here, from someone who certainly knows what she is talking about, Brigitte Gabriel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYjiSaV5VoE

And here is a great video on “Three Quran Verses Every Christian Should Know” by David Wood: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5Nu6EabQD8

Let me close by sharing a few sensible remarks from James M. Kushiner of the Fellowship of St. James:

Princeton Professor and longtime human rights advocate Robert P. George launched a petition last week calling on the United States and international community to act immediately and bring an end to the genocide against Christians, Yazidis, and other citizens in Iraq. Thousands have already signed the petition, which says that the U.S. and the international community should expand military airstrikes against ISIS/ISIL and do everything necessary to empower local forces fighting to protect the people of Iraq from ISIS/ISIL.
Throughout history, we have met ISIS before, in various guises. ISIS members believe they are doing good. So did the Nazis. The Bolsheviks. A good friend of mine shared a quote from Robert Reilly: “Anyone who chooses an evil act must present it to himself as good; otherwise as Aristotle taught, he would be incapable of choosing it. When we rationalize we convince ourselves that heretofore forbidden desires are permissible.”
As Hilaire Belloc wrote, in this case, “Every evil is its own good.” In our minds we replace the reality of the moral order to which the desire should be subordinated with something more compatible with the activity we are excusing.
He reminded me of a comment by Dr. William Hurlbut that we both heard earlier this year at a talk in Chicago: Hurlbut made the point that all the Nobel laureates he works with who are developing human cloning are all “really nice guys.” They are all about saving lives and relieving suffering in people’s lives. I’ve since come to the conclusion that the truly dangerous man must, almost by necessity, be someone who is largely loved and admired. Whittaker Chambers wanted nothing to do with turning in the names of communists trying to overthrow our government until it was forced upon him. These were kind people, friends of his, who only wanted what was best.
This in turn reminded my friend of a Flannery O’Connor quote: “In the absence of faith, we govern by tenderness, and tenderness leads to the gas chamber.”
He concluded: “That is what guides those really nice guys that Dr. Hurlbutt talked about. They are guided by a faithless tenderness of heart.”
Both the nice men and the ISIS jihadists think they are improving the world. Any man may imagine a moral order of his own or he may subject himself to someone else’s moral order–that of the street gang, the Gestapo, a political party, or the jihadists of ISIS. They all espouse a view of good and evil. Someone took pride in the design of the gas ovens of Auschwitz. Someone took satisfaction in the efficiency of those ovens. Someone in ISIS was proud to post a video of a beheading.
The calls to commit such acts–abortion, jihad, what have you–may come through passionate shouts or seductive whispers, all pointing to some perceived or imagined good. Because of this, the world is always a dangerous place in both war and peace, on the battlefield and in the classroom. But neither the brutal men nor the nice men will inherit the earth. Jesus Christ embodies the only moral order that will endure. He was not nice and tame, but he is good.

  1. I have noticed a great deal of contrived misunderstanding of the PMs words about Australians being patriotic, which was all he was suggesting.

    As for Malcolm Fraser…

I’m a bit scared for my grandchildren, but I know God is in control, even of leftist liberal balderdash-speaking people.

  2. Note to all unbelievers – beware of true Christians (eg Bill Muehlenberg)…….. They will hurt your feelings by telling you the truth (and thereby giving you the opportunity to be set free)
Islamists will just lop off your head.

  3. Thanks Bill for these crucial warnings about Islam.  They are very timely and much appreciated.  The dualistic nature of Islam has really blinded our society from the ferocity of this beast, which has been destroying Christians, Jews and everyone else for the past 1400 years, and is hell-bent on continuing to do so.
I encourage you to continue drawing our attention to this truly evil ideology.
    Many thanks.

    Come, Lord Jesus, Come

  4. Hi Bill,
political correctness is a strange thing. I used see it only as an external rule adopted by many, but now I think it is also an internal belief or power that disallows people to think clearly and offend certain groups, while at the same time free or almost obliged to offend Christianity, the West or America. I feel its power at times when in discussion with certain people. Political correctness has a power of its own that i think blinds clarity of thought and perhaps is a spiritual force.

  5. More silly by the minute!

Advertisement removed after resident expresses offense

    Business advertises food, neighbor offended

WINOOSKI, Vt. —A sign on a lamp post at the bottom of the Winooski Circle displayed the words “Yield Sneakers Bacon” until Friday morning. The bistro owners took it down.

It got there as part of “Operation Bloom.”

A city program put it in place to keep its flower beds beautiful. If businesses do some gardening they can post an advertisement where they do it, but the word “bacon” on the Sneakers Bistro sign started a discussion about diversity on the Winooski Front Porch Forum.

It started with a post from one woman who wrote that the sign was insensitive to those who do not consume pork. She said as a Muslim she is personally offended by it.

The owners of Sneakers spoke to WPTZ. They say they’ve reached out to the individual who made the post and proactively took the sign down. They also say they regret any harm caused by the sign, and that their goal was never to cause stress or bad feelings.

  6. Sometimes you need to stand up for what’s right even if it’s divisive. But how does calling for everyone to pull together amount to being divisive? It doesn’t, but if you think it does, you’re irrational.

  7. Thank You Bill for all your honesty, time & bravery to inform us of the Truth of Islam. As frightening as it is we need to hear it & not be continually drawn into complacency about the danger that looms us…I agree wholeheartedly with ‘Sid Avery’s’ comment above, it is so true! We live in interesting but perilous times and I fear the worse is yet to come!

  8. Here’s more of the same unfortunately;

“The Catholic Archbishop of Brisbane, Mark Coleridge, said people should think about what social psychosis was driving some young Muslims to give their lives fighting ‘on the altar of the demonic’ for the Islamic State. ‘The situation needs prayer, action and deep reflection,’ he said. ‘The extremists’ barbarism seems apocalyptic. It has nothing to do with real Islam or God and is blasphemy of a kind.’” At least on the basis of this report, he doesn’t seem to have explained what he thinks that the Islamic State is doing that has nothing to do with real Islam, but probably he assumes that Islam teaches peace and tolerance, and that therefore their actions against Christians and Yazidis are wrong on Islamic grounds. This is, unfortunately, not the case, as the Qur’an commands Muslims to fight even against the People of the Book (which includes Christians) until they “pay the jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued” (9:29). For Yazidis, who are not People of the Book, the only options according to Islamic law are the options the Islamic State gave them: convert or die. “The caliph makes war upon Jews, Christians, and Zoroastrians until they become Muslim or else pay the non-Muslim poll tax…The caliph fights all other peoples until they become Muslim” (‘Umdat al-Salik o9.8-9)

The archbishop, of course, is repeating assumptions shared by almost all of his fellow bishops, as well as by virtually all non-Muslim authorities in the West. No amount of evidence has yet shown itself capable of dislodging these assumptions.

  9. Tony Abbott’s comment is not divisive, however it reveals the divided position of those to whom he speaks. Jesus, who came to unite us back to the father, is the central figure who divides by who He is – those on either side of Him according to the decision they have made. So in the same way Tony Abbot’s comments, which in themselves are intended to bring and capable of bringing unity, therefore can be considered a “good light” that shines on reality as it is and therefore reveals the division among those who respond to him rather than being divisive in themselves. Only those who disagree with him would claim his comments are divisive, those who agree with him would just simply say they are good, logical and full of common-sense.

  10. “act preemptively to neutralise the enemy threat”
Does that not require accurate knowledge of enemy objectives and strategies? Not quite possible if the true nature of Islam is constantly denied.

  11. It appears the YouTube video about the bacon posted by Mr. Cook is no longer available, apparently due to some copyright issues.
I choose not to eat bacon, but am always glad to stay in a B&B where they offer it.
    Many blessings
