Sharia Keeps on Creeping and Creeping

So, another week, another batch of alarming cases of stealth jihad and creeping sharia in action. As I have so often said, one could devote all one’s energies 24/7 just trying to keep up with all these cases. While much of the West is sleeping, the spread of intolerant Islam and sharia law continues apace.

Indeed, one could argue that there is an inverse proportionality going on here. The more gains Islam makes in the West, the more the West seems to be snoozing through it all, or living in denial about it. “It can’t happen here” is the mantra we keep coming across. Of course by the time the West finally does wake up, it will likely be too late.

So let’s look at some more cases, beginning in Europe, where in many places things may already be too late. In Germany Islam is so thoroughly entrenched that we now have shocking instances of war on the streets. Consider this report on a city many people are now calling “Hamburgistan”:

Parts of downtown Hamburg, the second-largest city in Germany, resembled a war zone after hundreds of supporters of the jihadist group Islamic State [IS] engaged in bloody street clashes with ethnic Kurds. The violence—which police say was as ferocious as anything seen in Germany in recent memory—is fuelling a sense of foreboding about the spillover effects of the fighting in Syria and Iraq.
Some analysts believe that rival Muslim groups in Germany are deliberately exploiting the ethnic and religious tensions in the Middle East to stir up trouble on the streets of Europe. The unrest began on the evening of October 7, when around 400 Kurds gathered outside the Al-Nour mosque near the central train station in Hamburg’s St. George district to protest against IS attacks on the Syrian Kurdish town of Kobani.
According to police, the initially peaceful protest turned violent when the Kurds were confronted by a rival group of around 400 Salafists armed with baseball bats, brass knuckles, knives, machetes and metal rods used to hold meat in kebab restaurants. In the melee that followed, more than a dozen people were injured, including one person who nearly had his leg chopped off by someone wielding a machete, and another person who was stabbed in the stomach with a kebab rod.
Some 1,300 police officers, brandishing batons and accompanied by water cannons, were deployed to halt the clashes, which lasted into the early morning hours of October 8. In the final tally, hundreds of weapons were seized and 22 people were arrested.

Things in England are not much better in some ways, with even the government forcing Islam on everyone, and taking away the rights of ordinary citizens, especially Christians. Consider this shocker of a story:

A successful Christian school has been warned it is to be downgraded by inspectors and could even face closure after failing to invite a leader from another religion, such as an imam, to lead assemblies, it is claimed. The small independent school in the Home Counties was told it is in breach of new rules intended to promote “British values” such as individual liberty and tolerance in the wake of the Trojan Horse scandal, involving infiltration by hard-line Muslim groups in Birmingham.
Details of the case are disclosed in a letter to the Education Secretary, Nicky Morgan, from the Christian Institute, which is providing legal support to the school. The group warned that the new rules intended to combat extremism are already having “disturbing consequences” for religious schools and forcing Ofsted inspectors to act in a way which undermines their ethos.
It follows complaints from orthodox Jewish schools about recent inspections in which girls from strict traditional backgrounds were allegedly asked whether they were being taught enough about lesbianism, whether they had boyfriends and if they knew where babies came from.
In the latest case inspectors are understood to have warned the head that the school, which was previously rated as “good” that it would be downgraded to “adequate” for failing to meet standards requiring it to “actively promote” harmony between different faiths because it had failed to bring in representatives from other religions.

Let me finish with three Australian cases. The first concerns Qantas, which of course is now in partnership with Emirates, and has plenty of Middle Eastern routes. I have written before about how Qantas is removing pork from some of its flights to keep Muslims onside. Here is another case of appeasement and capitulation:

A former Qantas employee has accused the airline of banning crucifixes while allowing Muslim women to wear head scarfs. Georgina Sarikoudis claims the airline discriminated against the Christian faith by demanding she and others discard the religious insignia. Mrs Sarikoudis, a member of the Greek Orthodox Church, claims in tribunal documents she was subjected to “threats and ridicule” by managers who ordered her to cut off her prayer-knot bracelet and remove her necklace with a crucifix on it.
“The Qantas uniform policy allows for head scarfs by Muslim females but no allowance for the wearing of crucifixes, religious bracelets or other religious … artefacts. Qantas staff have a religious belief other than Muslim,” Mrs Sarikoudis claims. The Ormond woman, who says she wore a crucifix during 19 years at the airline, says she was confronted after Qantas changed its uniforms late last year.
The carrier’s staff dress code — which didn’t change — prohibits visible necklaces and bracelets, except for medical alert purposes. Women are allowed to wear head scarfs for “cultural, religious and medical reasons”. The former Melbourne Airport customer service agent claims she was “grilled” about her devotion to her beliefs, her reasons for wanting to wear religious symbols, and even how often she attended church.
She claims other staff — including a woman who wore rosary beads — were ordered to remove jewellery with Christian icons. Mrs Sarikoudis, who accepted a redundancy offer earlier this year, said she refused to take off or hide the items of jewellery despite months of bullying. “For Christians, this is our uniform. Everyone should be allowed to manifest their religion as they see fit,” Mrs Sarikoudis said.

Creeping sharia is more than just bringing Islam in – it is also about pushing Christianity out. And in another case, we find our tax dollars once again involved:

A radical Muslim organisation that has boasted of plans to use school funding to pay full-time preachers and train children as young as five to spread the religion to non-Muslims has opened a new community centre on Melbourne’s rapidly growing southwestern fringe.
The Islamic Research and Educational Institute officially opened its Hoppers Crossing “iHub” on Saturday, touting the institution as “a youth centre in the western suburbs to be a hub for dawah (conversion) activities throughout Australia”. IREA intends to establish a dawah TV channel and call centre at the hub, as well as provide space for “dawah material to be distributed across Australia” and training for children and adults in the practise of dawah.
In a recording of a December 2012 supporters’ meeting obtained by The Australian, IREA president Waseem Razvi discussed the centre as part of an Australia-wide system of Islamic schools and dawah centres he hoped to establish, using school salaries to pay for dawah.
“If we run the schools, we will have a lot of dawah into it, and we want to run a lot of dawah centres from it, so we can take out from the Islamic school and … we all can have full-time dawah, we all can do full-time dawah with salaries coming out from the Islamic school and the dawah centres,” he told the supporters.
Mr Razvi intends to set up 20 schools nationwide, with four planned for Melbourne.

And all this dawah is paying off. Consider the number of Australians heading overseas to fight with ISIS. Here is another appalling case:

An Australian teenager – who told his mother he was going on a fishing trip in June – has turned up with ISIL members, sending a chilling online message to Australia and the west. Abdullah Elmir, who calls himself Abu Khaled Australia, has used the video to warn Prime Minister Tony Abbott and other western leaders that ISIL won’t stop fighting until it takes the heads of every tyrant. It comes as Australia prepares to send in 200 special forces soldiers to Iraq to train and advise local troops to defeat the group.
In the video, the red-headed, 17-year-old Elmir says ISIL won’t give up its fight. “To Tony Abbott I say this: these weapons that we have, these soldiers, we will not stop fighting,” he said in his address. We will not put down our weapons until we reach your lands, until we take the head of every tyrant.”

And these cases are only a select few. Not a day goes by where we do not learn of more frightening cases of Islam on the march, and the West asleep at the wheel, if not in outright denial. And to be honest, I am not sure which is worse: the steady march of creeping sharia, or a sleeping West which is clueless about it, and even in denial about it.
