So, yet more dead men and women in France, because of the religion of peace. While the two jihadist brothers are also now dead, along with another one in East Paris, this is of course not the end of the matter. Since 9/11 there have been nearly 25,000 Islamic terror attacks.
That is 25,000 in just 13 years. And I have not even mentioned the Islamic genocide in Africa, where Boko Haram has just slaughtered 2,000 people in one day. On Wednesday an entire Nigerian village was attacked and burned down by these Islamic thugs. Yet the media is largely silent about this.
Perhaps the only thing worse than being in an actual war is to not know you are in a war, and thus to lose by default to your enemies without even putting up a fight, or offering any resistance. If you are unable or unwilling to even recognise that you are in a war, then you have lost already.
And the truth is, we are in a war to the death with Islam. Back in 1993 political scientist Samuel Huntington penned an article entitled “The Clash of Civilizations?” which he turned into a book in 1996. He said the West was battling various civilisational forces, including Islam.
It is indeed a battle of civilisations, but I agree with Geert Wilders who says it is really a battle between civilisation and barbarism. Either a free, prosperous, democratic and pluralistic West survives, or an archaic, bloodthirsty, seventh-century ideology and death cult prevails.
But our clueless leaders keep insisting that the daily carnage wrought by devout Muslims screaming Allahu Akbar has nothing to do with Islam. US President Obama of course has long played down the Islam angle, and has done all he can to defend Islam. Even with the latest Islamic attacks he refuses to use the “I” word.
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said that the terror attacks in Paris were indeed ‘criminality’ but had nothing to do with religion. French President Francois Hollande said the east Paris terror attack was clearly ‘anti-Semitic’, but also went on to claim that the ‘fanatics have nothing to do with Islam’.
With clueless wonders like this, no wonder we are losing the war. The first step in attempting to win a war is to properly and accurately identify the enemy. If we fail to do that, we are doomed from the outset. And that explains a whole lot.
Fortunately a few leaders are not so naive and sucked into dangerous dhimmitude. Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper for example said that these jihadists had declared war on the rest of the world: “I don’t say this with any particular pleasure or excitement, but it is a fact. The international jihadist movement has declared war. They have declared war on anybody who does not think and act exactly as they wish they would think and act.”
And some sober voices have been willing to speak truth here. In today’s Australian a bit of sanity prevailed with someone who knows exactly what she is talking about, Ayaan Hirsi Ali. She says in part:
If there is a lesson to be drawn from such a grisly episode, it is that what we believe about Islam truly doesn’t matter. This type of violence, jihad, is what they, the Islamists, believe. There are numerous calls to violent jihad in the Koran. But the Koran is hardly alone. In too much of Islam, jihad is a thoroughly modern concept. The 20th-century jihad bible, and an animating work for many Islamist groups today, is The Quranic Concept of War, a book written in the mid-1970s by Pakistani general SK Malik. He argues that because Allah himself authored every word of the Koran, the rules of war contained in the Koran are of a higher calibre than the rules developed by mere mortals.
In Malik’s analysis of Koranic strategy, the human soul — and not any physical battlefield — is the centre of conflict. The key to victory, taught by Allah through the military campaigns of the prophet Mohammed, is to strike at the soul of your enemy. And the best way to strike at your enemy’s soul is through terror. Terror, Malik writes, is “the point where the means and the end meet”. Terror, he adds, “is not a means of imposing a decision upon the enemy; it is the decision we wish to impose”.
Those responsible for the slaughter in Paris, just like the man who killed the Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh in 2004, are seeking to impose terror. And every time we give in to their vision of justified religious violence, we are giving them exactly what they want.
In Islam, it is a grave sin to depict visually or in any way slander Mohammed. Muslims are free to believe this, but why should such a prohibition be forced on non-believers?
In the US, Mormons didn’t seek to impose the death penalty on those who wrote and produced The Book of Mormon, a satirical Broadway send-up of their faith. Islam, with 1400 years of history and about 1.6 billion adherents, should be able to withstand a few cartoons by a French satirical magazine. But, of course, deadly responses to cartoons depicting Mohammed are nothing new in the age of jihad.
Moreover, despite what the Koran may teach, not all sins can be considered equal. The West must insist that Muslims, particularly members of the Muslim diaspora, answer this question: What is more offensive to a believer — the murder, torture, enslavement and acts of war and terrorism being committed today in the name of Mohammed, or the production of drawings and films and books designed to mock the extremists and their vision of what Mohammed represents?
She concludes:
We appease the Muslim heads of government who lobby us to censor our press, our universities, our history books, our school curriculums. They appeal and we oblige. We appease leaders of Muslim organisations in our societies. They ask us not to link acts of violence to the religion of Islam because they tell us that theirs is a religion of peace, and we oblige. What do we get in return? Kalashnikovs in the heart of Paris.
The more we oblige, the more we self-censor, the more we appease, the bolder the enemy gets. There can only be one answer to this hideous act of jihad against the staff of Charlie Hebdo. It is the obligation of the Western media and Western leaders, religious and lay, to protect the most basic rights of freedom of expression, whether in satire or any other form. The West must not appease, it must not be silenced. We must send a united message to the terrorists: Your violence cannot destroy our soul.
Finally, someone I have never heard of before, but who seems to have a big following, has made some real sense on this – especially in the light of brainless Christians who are utterly without a clue here: Clayton Jennings wrote this just recently:

The left needs someone to do the depopulating, muslims are happy to oblige.

With sincere love we just need to get on with commending Jesus to Muslims and to everyone else. We need to reply to Muslims who say that the deity of Christ is blasphemy by saying we are only blaspheming if Mohammed is a prophet. However according to the good true Evangelical Christian religion, Jesus is the Son of God and it is therefore Mohammed who is both a false prophet and a blasphemer. Further proof is the violent response of Islam to criticism whereas Jesus and his followers love their enemies as we have nothing to lose because we have nothing to fear because we have a Saviour who has loved us and done all necessary to secure our eternal salvation and happiness.

Bill, I believe you were not in Victoria in 1970, so you may not know that the then Sun News Pictorial newspaper (now the Melbourne Herald-Sun), began a campaign to Declare War.
It was a very successful campaign too, as most of the country did Declare War: on the road toll, which was then over 1000 people a year in Victoria alone.
But now we can’t even persuade the newspaper to Declare War on a far deadlier enemy.

We are in a war. We have to know our enemy.
As a rule we like to think that other people are the same as us. We and they want to live peaceful lives in harmony or at least without conflict. We see many Muslims living quiet lives even in the midst of our society. I’m also sure that many of the Muslim refugees from conflicts in Syria etc just want the quiet life.Surely they don’t want war with their neighbours.
From this general observation comes the pervasive miscalculation of the nature of the enemy. The MSM and political leaders are fixed on their observation of these peaceful thousands and imagine that there is no problem with them. The “radicals” are obviously different, just see how they live!
Ayaan Hirsi Ali, in her TV interview yesterday made a telling comment, which by the way, I believe, was missed by the interviewer. (Who could only speak about the radicals). Ayaan Hirsi Ali said that Islam is schitzophrenic.

She says that there are two examples from Mohammed’s life. One is of peace in the early years and the other is of war in the latter years. All Muslims who want to follow the prophet must choose between the two at any one stage.
It is fundamentally illegitimate to say that peace is the prophet’s proper or only example.
We have an enemy that appears peaceful by the thousands but can, will, and must be war-like if they are serious.
BTW Jeremy Fernandez, (if I heard him correctly) said that “Some Muslims don’t believe in god.” This is an oxymoron. There would hardly be a Muslim that would give room for his statement.
Schitzophrenia is a very difficult condition to manage or to live with. We are living with it, like it or not. Our enemy has it and it is incurable.

The only answer I can see for Muslims is that they openly separate themselves into Secular Muslims and Religious Muslims as the Jews have done, Secular Jews and Religious Jews, and many declare openly I am a Secular Jew with the same matter of fact statement as me saying I am British.
It does seem strange to the ears of a Christian, a secular Jew, but essentially these people adopt the culture of Judaism, but reject the belief in God and do not practice the religion. And when you hear of wars and rumours of wars, do not be alarmed; this must take place.” After describing what will happen in more detail Jesus concludes by saying, “Watch therefore – for you do not know when the master of the house will come…..- lest he come suddenly and find you asleep. And what I say to you I say to all: Watch.”
Yes, James, but Nazism also was a religion. Islam is a similar cult. Both are idolatrous. He strongly makes the point about the supine failure of the worlds print media to unite in showing some of the cartoons for which the French journalists died, and the same too for the crowds, instead of displaying pencils etc.
Steyn makes the important point about Choudray, namely that he at least is up front about the aims and objectives of Islam. He asserts that Choudray does not so much proclaim that Islam means “peace” as that it means submission. That is the truth – one either has to submit – or die.

Surely they domicile in Western countries, not merely as economic migrants, but also because they hope to expand numerically and in political power, as they are doing, until a stage is reached when they can DEMAND certain rights, such as the operation of Sharia in their host countries.
France has about 6 million or so Moslems. The UK less, but growing – about 2.8 million. How can your suggestion that “they must leave and go”, possibly be applied to such numbers, even if the political will in the governments concerned existed?

Interesting you use the word “barbarism”. Although the term “barbary pirates” originates form the word “berber”, the acts of these pirates was somewhat “barbarian” in nature. And of course its historical fact the the Barbary pirates attacked the sea trade routes through the Mediterranean and other seas to plunder the riches, stop economic trade and feed the lucrative salve markets in the Ottoman Empire. I’ve been away so haven’t commented earlier. When I went to catch a plane last night 2 women in hijabs boarded our plane and the security guard was sporting the typical islamic beard. I noticed that several passengers glanced at each other in alarm. It is a war and we need to be on alert constantly.
I have noticed in the newspapers online comments people are becoming much, much bolder in condemning islam since the latest terror attacks.

I know the idea that Jesus came to bring division seems controversial, but the fact of the matter is it is correct. See Luke 12:49-53
“I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! But I have a baptism to undergo, and what constraint I am under until it is completed! Do you think I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but division. From now on there will be five in one family divided against each other, three against two and two against three. They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.”
Also, as Clayton said Jesus drove the moneychangers out of the temple and his harshest words were reserved for the hypocritical religious leaders of the day (Sadducee’s, Pharisees and scribes) who added so many religious burdens (in the form of man-made rules) on the backs of ordinary people, yet they ignored the important aspects of the law such as justice, mercy and compassion.

While it’s true that Islam has many examples of violence, the same can be said of Christianity. The Crusades and the Spanish Inquisition are two of many examples throughout history. Before we criticize Islam, we Christians need to take responsibility for our own actions, acknowledge our own faults, so we can make sure violence never again is done in the name of Christ.
Thanks Sue. But there is no moral equivalence here whatsoever. When Christians abuse their faith and wrongfully kill, they are of course going against the clear teachings of the New Testament. But when Muslims kill and commit acts of jihad in the name of Allah, they are fully going with the teachings of the Koran and hadith. So we need to think much more carefully and clearly here. I now believe that for the safety of the community, and for a growing understanding that the West will not revert to sharia principles, there must be agreement – as part of citizenship, that this Islamic agenda will not be pursued, at all while in French (or Australian) society.

Bill, I believe you were not in Victoria in 1970, so you may not know that the then Sun News Pictorial newspaper (now the Melbourne Herald-Sun), began a campaign to Declare War.
It was a very successful campaign too, as most of the country did Declare War: on the road toll, which was then over 1000 people a year in Victoria alone.
But now we can’t even persuade the newspaper to Declare War on a far deadlier enemy.

We are in a war. We have to know our enemy.
As a rule we like to think that other people are the same as us. We and they want to live peaceful lives in harmony or at least without conflict. We see many Muslims living quiet lives even in the midst of our society. I’m also sure that many of the Muslim refugees from conflicts in Syria etc just want the quiet life.Surely they don’t want war with their neighbours.
From this general observation comes the pervasive miscalculation of the nature of the enemy. The MSM and political leaders are fixed on their observation of these peaceful thousands and imagine that there is no problem with them. The “radicals” are obviously different, just see how they live!
Ayaan Hirsi Ali, in her TV interview yesterday made a telling comment, which by the way, I believe, was missed by the interviewer. (Who could only speak about the radicals). Ayaan Hirsi Ali said that Islam is schitzophrenic.

She says that there are two examples from Mohammed’s life. One is of peace in the early years and the other is of war in the latter years. All Muslims who want to follow the prophet must choose between the two at any one stage.
It is fundamentally illegitimate to say that peace is the prophet’s proper or only example.
We have an enemy that appears peaceful by the thousands but can, will, and must be war-like if they are serious.
BTW Jeremy Fernandez, (if I heard him correctly) said that “Some Muslims don’t believe in god.” This is an oxymoron. There would hardly be a Muslim that would give room for his statement.
Schitzophrenia is a very difficult condition to manage or to live with. We are living with it, like it or not. Our enemy has it and it is incurable.
The doctrines of Islam and their enactment in Sharia law is what Islam is all about. This includes death to the infidel and other horrors.

The only answer I can see for Muslims is that they openly separate themselves into Secular Muslims and Religious Muslims as the Jews have done, Secular Jews and Religious Jews, and many declare openly I am a Secular Jew with the same matter of fact statement as me saying I am British.
It does seem strange to the ears of a Christian, a secular Jew, but essentially these people adopt the culture of Judaism, but reject the belief in God and do not practice the religion. Tragic at many levels, but at least consistent and workable for an unbelieving Jewish national.

And when you hear of wars and rumours of wars, do not be alarmed; this must take place.” After describing what will happen in more detail Jesus concludes by saying, “Watch therefore – for you do not know when the master of the house will come…..- lest he come suddenly and find you asleep. And what I say to you I say to all: Watch.”
Yes, James, but Nazism also was a religion. Islam is a similar cult. Both are idolatrous. A Muslim might be guilty of breaking the 6 of the Ten Commandments but he does this because he has broken the first Commandment which is to worship the God who reveals himself to mankind only through Jesus Christ and His Word the Bible. He strongly makes the point about the supine failure of the worlds print media to unite in showing some of the cartoons for which the French journalists died, and the same too for the crowds, instead of displaying pencils etc.
Steyn makes the important point about Choudray, namely that he at least is up front about the aims and objectives of Islam. He asserts that Choudray does not so much proclaim that Islam means “peace” as that it means submission. That is the truth – one either has to submit – or die.

Surely they domicile in Western countries, not merely as economic migrants, but also because they hope to expand numerically and in political power, as they are doing, until a stage is reached when they can DEMAND certain rights, such as the operation of Sharia in their host countries.
France has about 6 million or so Moslems. The UK less, but growing – about 2.8 million. How can your suggestion that “they must leave and go”, possibly be applied to such numbers, even if the political will in the governments concerned existed?

Interesting you use the word “barbarism”. Although the term “barbary pirates” originates form the word “berber”, the acts of these pirates was somewhat “barbarian” in nature. I’ve been away so haven’t commented earlier. When I went to catch a plane last night 2 women in hijabs boarded our plane and the security guard was sporting the typical islamic beard. I noticed that several passengers glanced at each other in alarm. It is a war and we need to be on alert constantly.
I have noticed in the newspapers online comments people are becoming much, much bolder in condemning islam since the latest terror attacks.

Also, as Clayton said Jesus drove the moneychangers out of the temple and his harshest words were reserved for the hypocritical religious leaders of the day (Sadducee’s, Pharisees and scribes) who added so many religious burdens (in the form of man-made rules) on the backs of ordinary people, yet they ignored the important aspects of the law such as justice, mercy and compassion.

While it’s true that Islam has many examples of violence, the same can be said of Christianity. The Crusades and the Spanish Inquisition are two of many examples throughout history. Before we criticize Islam, we Christians need to take responsibility for our own actions, acknowledge our own faults, so we can make sure violence never again is done in the name of Christ.

But when Muslims kill and commit acts of jihad in the name of Allah, they are fully going with the teachings of the Koran and hadith. So we need to think much more carefully and clearly here. As Bill said, there is no moral equivalence to be had between Christianity and Islam.
While there have been very unfortunate bouts of violence, supposedly in the name of Christianity, Islam has been build upon violence, it glorifies violence, it teaches violence, it conditions violence from the earliest ages.
If it wasn’t for the crusades, you would not have the ability to choose to be a Christian today. If it wasn’t for the crusades, your chance of finding a church would be the same as it would be finding one in Mecca or Medina.
How many books, studies, research papers, lectures, etc, etc, etc, have been put out there on the crusades, the inquisition, any and every supposed sin the Church and Church members have committed since Christ himself.
How much more do you want? should we all help others burn down all the Churches? How about we sit in a circle while all the worlds Bibles are burning on the BBQ and sing we are the worst, everyone else is perfect, except us? Would that be enough? Should we all line up to be beheaded, crucified, and burnt to death? would that prove we have learnt from the mistakes of the past?
WOW, just WOW. I am hearing we must allow every sin, every depravity, all because at some stage in the past, some people who call themselves Christians did the wrong thing, sinned in massive ways. Well I say no! We learn from the past, we repent and then we move on and continue to do as best we can, following Jesus Christ.
