Islam and Sharia Creep Spinning Out of Control

If and when we wake up one day in the West to find the Bible banned, churches shut down, and sharia police roaming the streets to enforce strict compliance to the religion of peace, one thing will be certain: some of us have been warning about such things for a very long time, but sadly such warnings mostly fell on deaf ears.

Are we being a bit melodramatic here? Possibly. And notice I said “if”. But if the examples of creeping sharia I present here are anything to go by – along with the hundreds of other examples I and others have shared over the years – then all this may be a reality to face in the near future.

Everywhere in the West today we see our freedoms being taken away, democracy being undermined, and Christians coming under attack – all because Islam has been given a free pass, and the West is in denial about the perilous state it is in.

One or two examples of this are not enough to warrant grave fears, but when we now have many hundreds of cases of these things happening, then it is time to stand up and take notice – before we lose it all. So let me offer three more very problematic examples here.

The first comes from Sydney and is shocking indeed. One news report begins as follows:

The most prestigious law school in Australia has two courses which call for elements of sharia law to be recognised in the mainstream legal system — including allowances for polygamy and lowering the age of consent. One of the Sydney University courses, Muslim Minorities and the Law, is taught by Salim Farrar and Dr Ghena Krayem and it uses a book the pair wrote as “the monograph upon which the unit of study bases its teaching”.
The Daily Telegraph can reveal the book claims “sharia and common law are not inherently incompatible” and that police’s failures to accommodate Islamic religious identity during operations was hampering the fight against Islamist terrorism. Federal Education Minister Simon Birmingham has warned universities that religion has no place in the law.
“Equality of the law, under the law and before the law should be one of the first principles in our law schools,” he told The Daily Telegraph. “We all operate under the one legal framework in Australia, applied consistently to all and that is not a matter for negotiation.”
Mr Birmingham’s office also warned universities about using taxpayer funds to promote ideologies at odds with the Australian public “Universities must keep in touch with Australian community expectations and that includes respect for and adherence to Australian law,” a spokesman said.
“Universities operate under a social license and we rightly expect that the taxpayer funding going to those institutions is being used to deliver benefits to all Australians.”
The book also takes aims at judges for denouncing “conservative Muslim values” during sentencing. “Where found guilty of transgressing Western values, for example in gender equality, or violating national security, courts have clearly communicated their denunciation of ‘traditional’ or conservative Muslim values when sentencing, dispensing exemplary sentences and announcing aggravating factors, even when the written law does not explicitly demand it,” it says.
The idea of mixing sharia law with Australian law has been criticised by the legal fraternity and Islamic leaders, who said the “division between religion and courts” must be upheld. However, the authors say when it comes to the law “we will suggest that ‘accommodation’ is not enough and that, as liberal democratic societies, we should move towards a notion of ‘recognition’.”
The authors also call for research into whether polygamy should be legally recognised. “There is no doubt that this is an area that needs to be researched, particularly given the fact that anecdotal evidence suggests that this is an increasing practice in Muslim communities,” it says.

Wow. Sharia law, which is anti-democratic, anti-freedom, anti-women, and anti-pluralism, is not something any Western nation can afford to embrace. Yet here we have a major university pushing it! There is now a petition on this which I urge you to read, sign and share: https://www.change.org/p/the-university-of-sydney-the-university-of-sydney-must-stop-promoting-sharia-law

And in the US we have this worrying case:

On Friday, a painting of Jesus Christ hanging on the cross was left on a fence outside the Hillside Islamic Center in Long Island, New York. Now, the Nassau County Police Dept. is investigating the incident as a “hate crime.”
“A worker there had found this large painting of Christ on a cross on the property,” reported an anchor for NBC 4. “The anti-Muslim message was found hanging from a fence, deemed to be so obviously because it was a mosque. Nassau County police said they are investigating the incident as a possible hate crime.”
The “anti-Muslim message,” as the NBC 4 anchor labeled it, was a green and white painting of Jesus’ silhouette hanging on the cross.

Hmm, so now to simply display a picture of Christ on the cross is a form of hate speech to be investigated by the police? Really? Umm, if a Muslim posted a picture near a church of Muhammad massacring infidels, would that also be reported as a hate crime? If not, why not?

Finally, we have this case from Canada, which in many ways is leading the West in pro-Muslim, anti-Christian agendas:

Canada is now fining its citizens for offending people of the Islamic faith. John Alabi, 53, is a Christian and a landlord who lives in the Toronto area and is being ordered to pay a fine of $12,000 by the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal because he failed to remove his shoes when he entered the apartment he was renting to a Muslim couple.
His crime? Religious discrimination, according to the tribunal. The tenants were planning to move out of his rental home, and he says he gave the couple the required 24-hours notice that he would be showing the apartment to another tenant. They told him not to come while they were praying, and to text first. He agreed. But when they stopped answering his text messages, he showed the apartment.
The Muslim tenants waited eight months before filing their grievance with the human rights tribunal, where they receive free representation, the Toronto Sun reported. The couple even searched his Facebook page and found a joke they considered offensive and used to bolster their case. The tribunal agreed he harassed them and failed in his duty to accommodate their religious needs – and awarded them $6,000 each – plus interest.
Alabi says he does not have the money to pay the fine and doesn’t know what he’s going to do. “What about my rights?” asks the father of three, who has since sold the house. “What about my rights to show my place so I could rent it and put food on the table for my family?”

It seems that Christians have no rights in Canadistan. Islam is on the rise, Muslims are becoming a protected species, and Christians are fair game if they dare to differ. And the sad thing is, we daily find more and more cases like this all around the West. Islam it seems is taking over easily, and no one seems to give a rip.

As Robert Spencer says in a recent article on this issue:

All over the West, non-Muslim authorities are willingly adopting Sharia blasphemy norms. Where will it end? Will the West passively acquiesce to the full implementation of Sharia, or will at some point authorities draw the line and say Thus far, and no farther? If they ever intend to do that, they should do it quickly, for as these cases indicate, the freedom of speech is eroding rapidly. No one seems particularly concerned about that now, but they may find that they miss it when it’s gone.

Yes quite right. It is time to wake up – and fast.
