Stay Away From Canada

I write this piece while just several hundred miles from the Canadian border. That is because I am enjoying a short visit to Wisconsin at the moment. While it is great to be back, it is frightening to think just what is happening so close by. I am fully aware of how bad things are in Canada when I am in Australia, but it becomes even more ominous when being so close by.

Canada has long had some serious problems when it comes to faith, family and freedom. All three are under sustained attack there, both by federal and provincial governments. I just did a quick check of my website and I have around 180 articles that discuss Canada – in part or in full. And most of those pieces would feature some very scary material indeed.

Just this past week or two we have found another raft of cases involving the war on children, conservatives and Christians in Canada. As is so often the case in the culture wars, most of these episodes have to do either with the radical sexual agendas or with creeping sharia.

These are two of the main battle fronts that we find all throughout the West, and they are certainly leading the way in Canada. Consider just these five recent cases. The first has to do with the radical trans agenda which Prime Minister Trudeau and his government along with most provinces have been pushing relentlessly.

It is another direct attack on families, on parental rights, and on the well-being of children. As one report covers the story:

Canada’s Ontario province has passed legislation that allows the government to seize children from families that refuse to accept their child’s chosen “gender identity” or “gender expression.” The so-called Supporting Children, Youth and Families Act of 2017, or Bill 89, was approved by a vote of 63 to 23, according to The Christian Times.

It requires child protection, foster, adoption service providers, and judges to take into account and respect a child’s “race, ancestry, place of origin, color, ethnic origin, citizenship, family diversity, disability, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression.”

“I would consider that a form of abuse, when a child identifies one way and a caregiver is saying no, you need to do this differently,” Minister of Child and Family Services Michael Coteau, who introduced the bill, was quoted as saying. “If it’s abuse, and if it’s within the definition, a child can be removed from that environment and placed into protection where the abuse stops.”

To see how all this plays out in the real world, see how one Canadian father fared as he sought to side with biology and reality and stand against the ugly militancy of gender bending fantasy:

Last week, Justice Francesca Marzari of the Supreme Court of British Columbia, Canada, declared a father guilty of “family violence” against his 14-year-old daughter on the sole basis that he had engaged in “expressions of rejection of [her] gender identity.” These “expressions” revolved entirely around his polite refusal to refer to his daughter as a boy in private, and his steady choice to affirm that she is a girl in public.

As previously reported, the BC Supreme Court ordered in February that 14-year-old Maxine receive testosterone injections without parental consent. Accordingly, Maxine began regular injections at British Columbia (BC) Children’s Hospital over the course of the last two months.

Her father, Clark, strongly objects to this treatment and immediately sought to reverse the decision in the BC Court of Appeal. Hoping to raise awareness of his case, Clark gave a number of interviews to media outlets, including The Federalist. In these interviews, he repeatedly referred to his daughter as a girl, stating to The Federalist that “she is a girl. Her DNA will not change through all these experiments that they do.”

While many might take this to be an honest statement of biological fact, Marzari quoted it as a prime example of Clark’s “family violence of a public denial of [Maxine’s] gender identity.” Marzari convicted Clark of this violence, and issued a “protection order” preventing him from speaking to journalists or the public about his case.

Wow, that should send shivers up the spine of any and every parent in Canada. This is so shocking and diabolical. Just what is wrong with people there that they can destroy families like this? One really feels for this poor dad. How many other parents are going through this now – or will go through it soon enough?

But my next case is no better. In another Canadian province more of this madness continues to spin out of control. Consider this report:

On March 20, 2019, Bill 84 was introduced in the Ontario Legislature. It is a Private Member’s Bill, introduced by York Centre MPP Roman Baber. The bill passed second reading at the end of April, and is now before the Standing Committee on Justice Policy. The bill is entitled Prohibiting Hate-Promoting Demonstrations at Queen’s Park Act, 2019. The bill provides that no demonstration, rally or other activity that, in the opinion of the Speaker, is likely to promote hatred against any identifiable group, shall be permitted on the legislative grounds.

No reasonable or rational person accepts or agrees with the deliberate spread of “hate”. It is unacceptable in a civilized society. The problem with this bill, however, lies in the fact that the definition of “hate” is uncertain under Canadian law. As a result, unfortunately, the use of the word “hate” can be a useful tool for some to prevent differing views from being expressed. That is, the word “hate” can be used to silence opposing views expressed when, in fact, the views are simply a reasonable expression of belief.

This concern is based on actual experience. Canadians have already experienced the contempt shown by the Supreme Court of Canada towards Section 2 of the Charter of Rights which provides for freedom of opinion, expression and religion.

And the militant sexual revolutionaries in Canada are not content to destroy that nation. They want to export their radical ideologies and agendas overseas. Check out this frightening story:

Justin Trudeau continues to lavishly bestow our hard earned tax money on his favourite people – feminists and homosexuals. Both groups are swimming in Trudeau’s largesse. It is grim enough that Trudeau has poured millions of tax dollars into the homosexual cause within Canada, but now he is expanding his generosity to provide Canadian tax dollars for homosexuals residing worldwide. This is in accordance with his promise, at the time he was elected in 2015, that he would make the promotion of LGBTQ a central pillar of Canadian foreign policy.

In pursuance of this policy, in February, 2019, the Trudeau government announced $30 million in funding over five years, followed by $10 million per year to advance the human rights and socio-economic outcomes for LGBTQ people in developing countries. This money is to be used to support local and regional homosexual organizations and “equality” movements in the developing countries for the advancement of their policies.

In addition, in January, 2017, Canada, along with Chile, became co-chair of the Equal Rights Coalition, an intergovernmental coalition advancing LGBTQ rights. Canada is one of several Western countries that is supporting LGBTQ through embassies and missions abroad. As a result, Canadian embassies are now including, among their duties, the promotion of the homosexual cause, regardless of the religious beliefs and cultures of their host countries.

But as mentioned, it is not just hyper-radicalised sexual politics that is being championed in Canada. There is also the cosying up to Islam, by living in denial about stealth jihad and creeping sharia. Full-scale Islamophilia is taking place there, with Trudeau leading the charge to elevate Islam while he denigrates Christianity.

Check this out – the headline is frightening enough: “Canada: Trudeau government omits all references to ‘Islamist extremism’.” Part of the article says this:

Canada is in deep trouble at the hands of an appeasing government which refuses to identify its worst enemies; a government which also lead the charge on the UN Migration Pact, supports open door immigration and has gone so far as to even welcome Islamic State jihadists, because in Trudeau’s mind they can be “a powerful voice for deradicalization”.

Although the Trudeau government also enraged India over removal of the term “Sikh extremism“, it is pertinent to understand that there is no global war on terror against Sikhs. It is contained within a region, much like many other faction wars, for example, in skirmishes involving the Irish Republican Army and the war with the Tamil Tigers that Sri Lanka ended 10 years ago, but has still left scars etc. The global war on jihad terror however threatens all infidel countries. It is a 1400 year violent and stealth war based on conquest and Islamic supremacism. The Trudeau government’s recklessness in failing to identify–and thus target–the biggest threat to Canadians, merely allows that threat to proliferate and further threatens public safety. It also poses a clear risk to its neighbor, the United States. Such an approach is as preposterous as omitting references to Nazism and Communism during the height of wars against both forces of totalitarianism.

Any one of these five cases alone would be bad enough, but taken together – and added to all the others – this is very worrying indeed. Canada has fallen so far, so fast. It seems only a mighty avalanche of prayer, repentance and revival can turn things around.

That, and Canadians waking up and booting these militants out of office. There is a national election coming up on – or before – October 21. Hopefully the Canadian people have seen enough horrors from these radical secular left rulers and will vote them out. If not, it might be time to say goodbye to Canada.

  1. Rev_16:13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
    (MKJV)

Bearing in mind the dragon is Satan plus the third of the angels, those who are fallen (Rev 12:3-4, Job 38:7), The Beast’s name is blasphemy (Rev 13:1, 17:3) and the Harlot rides on all its heads (Rev 17:9, 1 & 15) and the False Prophet, obviously, purports to speak for God but speaks lies.

Once you understand that these four are not individuals but spiritual entities (like the Ram and the Goat in Daniel’s visions were entire countries – Dan 8:20-21) people should be able to see this prophecy is being fulfilled before our eyes.

Rev 17:17 For God gave into their hearts to do His mind, and to act with one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast until the Words of God will be fulfilled.

Rev 17:14 These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them. For He is Lord of lords and King of kings. And those with Him are the called and elect and faithful ones.
    (MKJV)

Like when Caiaphas said that it was expedient for one man to die (John 11:49-52) he was doing evil but God knew this and was using it for good, so is what we are going through. It has all been provided for from the very beginning.

That’s not to say that we just sit back and our actions and words don’t demonstrate what side we’re on and can’t be used to do either right or wrong. It is there to illustrate and shed light on the battlefield for a reason.

  2. I used to go to Toronto in the 1980’s on business for the firm I worked with. The fact that they didn’t have iced tea should have been enough to tell me they were one messed up nation…not the Canada my grandparents left behind. Anyway, they were already solidly into “multiculturalism” and braggadocious no-end about their socialised medicine scheme. (Of course, when I ended up with pneumonia while I was there, I had to take the subway/train system to a hospital 2 hours away because the hospital right down the block didn’t handle respiratory problems. Heaven only knows how many innocent riders I infected). My Canadian colleagues freely belittled Prez Reagan and the entire system of USA government…something unheard of for the most part at that time. I was shocked by how liberal they were. There was already a lot of humming against the churches for what they considered stuffy, outdated, hateful ideas. The Bible was openly ridiculed. I just couldn’t believe it. So, I guess I’m not surprised by all this, but it is one very frightening scenario, almost prophetic of where much of the world is headed and the kind of persecution that is dogging the invisible church.

  3. I wonder if Asia Bibi will end up regretting moving to Canada … what prompted her to choose there instead of (for example) Australia? One only needs to think of Trotsky’s fate to realise that exile doesn’t always result in safety.
However, it will be interesting to see what results from Canada courting both feminism & homosexuality on the one hand and Islam on the other; given what the Koran says about these. It makes the German-Soviet pact of 1939 seem ‘normal’ and I can only hope that it will create a lot of internal turmoil within socialism.

Sadly, it is little better here in Australia. I was at the Australian Christian Lobby’s ‘Meet the Candidates’ forum for my local electorate. Nine candidates, none Christian (the Liberals candidate supports same-sex marriage, although his father was a Christian).
Most of the other 8 are likely ‘ganging up’ for try and force out the Liberals candidate; GetUp! and the unions have been busy advertising the socialist cause.
To my surprise, both the Greens and ALP candidates claimed to believe in God and used that to support their causes (although when chatting with another Christian later, he commented that ‘even Satan believes in God’).
I would have loved to have seen all the candidates get asked’ how often do you go to Sunday church services’ and ‘how often to you read a Bible’ 😉
Sadly, the Liberals/Nationals are little better than the ALP/Greens these days; I just wish more in the Coalition were like John Anderson (https://johnanderson.net.au/) and could do similar serious thinking when it comes to policies (and not be afraid to speak out in support of Christianity).
I have the sad feeling that it will be a ‘double-deja vu’ next weekend: the Coalition hasn’t learnt the lessons form the Victorian election (eg. failure to criticise policies like Safe Schools at a grass-roots level); and the leadership changes are reminiscent of what took place after Holt’s drowning – and look what happened as a result of that ….
History *does* repeat, especially when the lessons of history are not learnt …. and that’s why I find counterfactual history so informative.
Small events can have massive impacts, and one for the history buffs here that has caught my attention is the failure of Admiral Milne when pursuing the ‘Goeben’ at the start of WW1. Imagine how many lives may have been saved if Milne’s ships had Nelson’s courage at this point. There seem to be too few Christians – especially in politics – prepared to take a stand.

It seems the though the West is approaching a ‘tipping point’ in the near future.
Mark Latham’s maiden speech at: https://www.onenation.org.au/mandatory-reading-mark-lathams-maiden-speech/ is good reading, and he’s not even a Christian.
The conclusion to the end of the novel “Fahrenheit 451” also seems prophetic (go read the last 3 pages for something thought-provoking).

Bill, on your other thread on technology, I’m in my early-mid 40’s and am neither a Luddite or technophobe; instead I try to make *wise* use of technology (especially as my professional work is all computer based).

My final thoughts are that the proportion of Christians in Australia is definitely not around half (would same-sex marriage have got through if this *was* the case?); I’ve seen figures suggesting no more than around 10%. As such, should Christians instead be marketing themselves as something like ‘a minority group with few/no minority rights’?

Sorry for the ‘rambling on’ 😉
    John

  4. I have read quite a bit about case where the girl wants to be a boy and the father doesn’t want her to. The other part of the story is that the parents are divorced and the child lives with the mother who supports the girl transitioning. So I was thinking, how much of this is the parents fighting with each other and being pigheaded about not working together for the best interest of the child and the child is the ham in the sandwich?

  5. Thanks for the update Bill. I think Shorten has also agreed in his sellout of our children to Equality Australia to spending millions assisting the establishment of LGBTQI networks and agendas in overseas countries.
I believe he also plans to bring in similar legislation to remove children from homes where the parents won’t submit to his LGBTQI intimidation.
May 18th will be the turning point for this country.
Both countries are stuffed; if you can afford it, the best alternative to saving your children may be emigrate.

  6. Hi Bill
Being part of the wide spread Trudeau clan, with many members still residing in Canada, I’m absolutely gobsmacked at how rapid and widespread is the evil being pushed by Justin Trudeau. I pray Canadians will bring a swift end to his government and that righteousness will once again be the litmus test for any new government. We need to also be praying and fasting for the same outcome here in Australia. Vic

  7. I read that Aasia Bibi has finally been allowed to leave Pakistan and join her family in Canada which apparently has welcomed them with open arms. In light of your article, I can’t help wonder if it’s a case of “out of the frying pan and into the fire.”

  8. Nine candidates, none Christian (the Liberals candidate supports same-sex marriage, although his father was a Christian).

That sums up what is wrong with our democracy.

  9. Think about what has happened here. From the top down, the family unit has been attacked. This attack, of course, in itself would not destroy the family since the family unit is a robust unit and self-governing.

The godless first came for dads (not children interestingly) since the children weren’t to be fatherless, fatherless boys especially tend to be lawless and rebellious to authority. Rebelling against the state is precisely what you do not want in a godless tyrannical system. In a godless totalitarian regime, the livestock are led into the meadow where they may graze which gives the illusion of freedom and provision to the vast majority.

To destroy the family was a two-pronged attack or process. The godless removed dad from the family, the dad who only wanted what is best for his child this dad you know as the head of the family, as opposed to the dad that replaced family-unit-dad with a government department or more correctly departments. You, fathers, have all taken part in this process, mothers too. You took your precious naive innocent children by the hand and delivered them to these monsters, oh, I should add here that part of a tyrannical godless system is to call things by different names or by names that fool you into accepting without question. I would point you to just two that you will agree with me on I’m sure. The place you took/take your precious naive innocent child too was/is an indoctrination unit. However, you know it as, – state school, you, of course, did so since you wanted the best for your little one and an education, is what is best for your little one, but of course, while they were taught math, they were also being taught to hate you and your values. The other renaming that you will know of is- Abortion which is just another name for infanticide or murder.

The second prong of the attack is now in place. The family unit is now being attacked from the bottom up too. Your children are the attacking force. That indoctrination unit that you took them to, had an end purpose, that end purpose was to teach them to hate you, and your values so as to remove you from any critical decisions in their lives.

I should add here that if parents have Christianised their children, Christianised doesn’t mean taking them to church, since if you consider that was the case it’s likely you have chosen a church that is just part of the indoctrination system, only the monsters there are at another level of monster-ness. Christianised means the law of the land (Christendom) is the ten commandments that mum and dad live by too. Keeping the first two commandments will mean you will find keeping the other eight easy. So Christianised children will have been, inoculated against the mental illness that is leftism. They will either switch off to leftism or rebel against it, best teach them to rebel against it especially in school and university.

You now have a little island of Christendom but in godlessness. Two things will happen. The first is godlessness never has a longevity to it, reality catches up with it when it has run out of the fat it was living off, which was capitalism with a good dose of Christendom. The second thing is you need to do is hold the bridge, until then, as if the enemy crosses the bridge they will be in Christendom and then only godlessness will exist.

    Therefore-

The state has replaced fathers, those that couldn’t be replaced were bypast as irrelevant and hateful. Dad’s, you had to agree to the former, your child had to agree to the latter and in the main you did. Both those actions are playing out daily. That should be pointed out to the godless who was for all intense and purposes, Christians without a God, who until recently, were those who lived in Christendom harmoniously. Many godless Christians were, of course, just the forerunners for what we see today.
Many godless Christians run your church; others run your lives. They are completing the down up attack on your church since the up-down attack is now complete. I could tell you what my humble opinion was as to how to fight back guys, but you do not want to know, neither do you care to know, since it will take action from you. I have to tell you when I look over the history of my lifetime, 15-years, I see the left are doers, and we are the obeyers. This wasn’t always so, as I have communicated with a doer who realised as a Christian he had to do that which wasn’t Christian in a war. He was so concerned for freedom that he drew his sword and cut off the ear of those who were being told to kill freedom. His heroic actions and great sacrifice, yes he even lost the love of his life, the one waiting patiently, for him to return home, and make her his wife, she was the very reason he was fighting. He dodged ever bullet amid at him; she didn’t doge the bomb that landed on her parents home. He won freedom for those monsters to steal your children and the freedom for you to say, no. Sadly, the cost of Tommy’s gift to us was his faith. It didn’t take long to explain to him that when Peter drew his sword, it was precisely the right thing to do, and cutting off the ear of the hateful was utterly the right thing to do also, as Jesus needed him to do that to make a point that would ripple throughout history. You see Tommy had forgotten he was in a war and Christians do not act in a war as they do in peacetime. No one ever told Tommy this, as those that knew only wanted to talk about turning the other cheek, since that is all they had ever done and only what they ever wanted to do, as long as it was someone else’s cheek struck, of course. I have told Tommy he did not receive his meddles for turning the other cheek; he got them for not turning the other cheek so someone else could. I have told him his battle wasn’t won if he lost his faith since Peter did as he had done, but Peter had to return to God so he could get his final reward, Peters reward wasn’t for winning a war, it was for staying faithful to the end. The time when Tommy saw the broken home of his bride to be and the irreparability of his bride to be, God already had most of the parts, but one, to put them back together in paradise. That missing part was Tommy himself.

Tommy still wears his medals with pride on Sundays when I visit him. But more important than that he wears his Lord and saviour with pride now too, strangely the staff and those who live their last few years with Tommy in his home are being evangelised not by me, but by the medals Tommy does not wear but are never the less pinned to him. Many of you will never be a Tommy, as his courage was fostered in a time when courage was a virtue. A time where there was good and bad, now, of course, we live in a time where you are the- bad, and the highest virtue is multiculturalism. In some of those cultures of the multi’s is paedophilia dressed as love. Murder of the innocent. So many genders no one even knows how many there are. Boys dressed as girls and girls dressed as boys. Hatred for God and a love of the wicked. Tolerance of everything but little tolerance of you. Where men lay with men and women lay with women as the country suffers from a lack of the next generation. Up is now down and left is now right. Where parents are wicked for telling their child biology is fixed, then applauded when they murder their unborn, and these very people want to tell dads what is moral and what isn’t. So your task has been reduced to the fighting for your own family and then fighting for Christendom, you do not get medals for that, you get medals for being courageous.

    Sarah, and the Bible girls…

  10. I jut happened upon your article and hope my comments are not too delayed to be heard. Interesting pointers made about my country, Canada. But your article only skims the surface of what is really happening. Yes it’s true that much has changed in this land over the past four years since the Trudeau Govt was elected. But your nation and mine are so different from each other and those differences can not be passed off with a statement like: Stay away from Canada. I will explain that Canadians are not as assertive as Americans. We aren’t in the habit of standing up and shouting about the things we disapprove of in our land. We are a nation of peace-lovers and that is seen in our attitudes toward guns. We feel quite safe in our country and do not feel the need to carry a weapon of protection so are quite content to have gun controls in place. Indeed our courts have become more lax over the past four years, but we certainly do not see the mass shootings and killings that are so prevalent in your country.

Christians in this country largely don’t take a prominant active role in promoting their christian interests politically as do Americans, but we do pray. And that showed itself to be effective prior to this current government. From the years 2005 to 2015 we had a strong Conservative government in power with a christian Prime minister and strong moral values who took a noted stance for good among the nations.

However the world has changed. It’s not just Canada that has deteriorated in it’s moral stance. You will see that happening largely in all the Western nations and I suspect it is so in your land as well. Despite the position that has been taken there with appointments to the Supreme Court, and several States legislating against abortion clinics, I certainly do not believe that the moral climate is any better than anywhere else in the world. The values perpetrated by Hollywood permeate the minds of individuals there and around the world.

We are at a point of turning and change in our world and the Lord makes me to know that while He desires us to be a people of prayer, our prayers can no longer avail against the darkness that is being released in this earth. We enter the end of days during which darkness shall rule. It doesn’t mean we sit back and forsake our post of prayer. We just change our focus, from one of pleading that the world will return to a place of safety, peace, and godliness, to one of praying in support for the people on this earth who are lost and will have to go through the terrible time of sorrows that will soon fall on the earth.
