Obama’s Anti-Christian America

Yesterday I wrote about how Obama is cozying up to Muslims, merrily turning the US into a dhimmi state. The obverse of this is his unending war against Christianity. The United States of America – once known as the light on a hill – is increasingly becoming known as the darkness in the pit. Obama’s cavalier attitude to Christianity both at home and abroad is showing up big time.

His administration has been the most anti-Christian government yet in the US, as I have often documented before. Plenty more examples can be offered, so I present four more recent cases of how the BHO administration is showing its true colours in its war against the Christian faith.

Consider the first example: the US now sees Bibles as a “threat to national security.” Yes you heard me right. One news report covers the story this way: “The U.S. Military has revoked its approval of a series of military-themed Bibles, reportedly over trademark issues. Now, the Military Religious Freedom Foundation is demanding that all remaining versions of the Bibles be removed from base exchanges — calling them a ‘threat to national security.’

“The military series of Bibles were published by B&H Publishing, a division of LifeWay Christian Resources of the Southern Baptist Convention, the nation’s largest non-Catholic denomination. They published four versions of the Holman Christian Standard Bible – representing the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps.

“The Bibles are tailored to each specific military branch. For example, the cover of the Marine version says ‘The Marines’ Bible’ – along with the USMC emblem. The Bibles contain special prayers and devotional material for military personnel.

“But the Military Religious Freedom Foundation complained that the Bibles were an official endorsement by the U.S. Military. They alleged the Bibles not only violated the U.S. Constitution, but also violated Defense Department regulations.”

OK, I think I got it now – the US Military believes reading a Bible will undermine its fighting capability, but having homosexuals actively doing their thing on base or in the field of combat will somehow contribute to our national security. Yep, makes perfect sense to me.

And while the government cozies up to Muslims, it is doing nothing to help Christians being slaughtered in Islamic countries. The next three examples speak directly to this. First, it seems that the State Department has decided to simply ignore religious freedom violations. As one report states, “The U.S. State Department removed the sections covering religious freedom from the Country Reports on Human Rights that it released on May 24, three months past the statutory deadline Congress set for the release of these reports.

“The new human rights reports – purged of the sections that discuss the status of religious freedom in each of the countries covered – are also the human rights reports that include the period that covered the Arab Spring and its aftermath.

“Thus, the reports do not provide in-depth coverage of what has happened to Christians and other religious minorities in predominantly Muslim countries in the Middle East that saw the rise of revolutionary movements in 2011 in which Islamist forces played an instrumental role.

“For the first time ever, the State Department simply eliminated the section of religious freedom in its reports covering 2011 and instead referred the public to the 2010 International Religious Freedom Report – a full two years behind the times – or to the annual report of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF), which was released last September and covers events in 2010 but not 2011.”

Another writer explains the significance of all this: “The 1998 International Religious Freedom Act mandated that the State Department take several actions in furtherance of human rights. This included the creation of an Office of International Religious Freedom and the preparation of annual human right reports, to be supplemented with details of violations of religious freedom listed country by country. The State Department must also indicate those countries whose violations are most egregious as ‘Countries of Particular Concern’ and to take actions to counter these transgressions as part and parcel of U.S. foreign policy.

“Religious freedom is considered a fundamental human right. If one is denied the right to worship his god and maintain his own conscience, what other freedom can be had? The Founding Fathers, some of whom fled other countries due to religious persecution, held up religious freedom as paramount. It therefore constitutes a basic underpinning of the very existence of the United States, and its importance is reflected as the first freedom in America’s founding documents.

“Countries that persecute, restrict or oppress religious minorities often pressure people to recant their faith, deny them the right to worship publicly and to erect houses of worship, and discriminate against them in education, housing and employment. More egregious abuses include torture, flogging, financial fines, imprisonment and even execution. Approximately 50 percent of the world’s population lives under religiously oppressive regimes. Virtually all of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the largest Islamic organization in the world, are among them.”

And my last piece gives a perfect illustration of this: a gruesome video of a Christian in Egypt being beheaded is an example of what is taking place around the world under Obama’s watch. As one article states, “Since Mr. Obama’s entry into office, Christians have been slaughtered throughout the Bloody Crescent with hardly a peep from the U.S. State Department or the White House. Nigerian human rights activist Emmanuel Ogebe recently reported that more Christians have been killed by Islamist Boko Haram than NATO troops have been killed in Afghanistan.

“Hundreds of thousands of Christians have fled Iraq. They’ve fled into Syria, of all places. Operation Iraqi Freedom has not protected them. In fact, their lot has been made much worse since the Bush administration toppled Saddam Hussein and allowed, in fact, required a new Iraqi constitution containing a repugnancy clause. State Department advisers insisted upon this clause. It says that notwithstanding anything else in the new constitution, nothing shall be done by the Iraq government that is ‘repugnant’ to Islam. Well, among the things repugnant to Islam is saying ‘Jesus is Lord.’ That will get you killed.

“It did get a young Tunisian Christian killed. Recently, Egyptian TV showed the horror of a young convert from Islam to Christianity being beheaded. The Egyptian new anchor, to his credit, cried out: ‘Is this what we want here?’And he asked the anguished question: ‘How will these people govern?’”

Barnabas Fund was one of the few groups to report this murder: “Video footage of a convert from Islam to Christianity being murdered by Muslims has been shown on Egyptian TV. The graphic incident, which is reported to have taken place in Tunisia, was aired on a programme called Egypt Today. The footage shows a young man being held down by masked men with a knife to his throat. One man chants a number of Muslim prayers in Arabic, mostly condemning Christianity. The man holding the knife to the Christian convert’s throat begins to cut, slowly severing the head amid cries of ‘Allahu Akbar’ (‘god is great’).”

There is a clear correspondence here: the more pro-Islam the Obama administration becomes, the more anti-Christian it becomes as well. Indeed, in order to placate and suck up to his Muslim masters, he of course has to downplay massacres, persecution, torture and attacks on Christians in Muslim nations.

We know which side Obama butters his bread, and it sure is not Christianity. The president will go down in history as the most cowardly, Muslim-appeasing president of all time. That is bad enough, but in the process he is unleashing dhimmitude in America, propping up enemies of freedom and democracy abroad, and seeing Christians killed in huge numbers.

Shame Barack Hussein Obama, shame.
