Islam, Refugees, and Clueless Christians

There is always a danger of supplanting biblical Christianity with the latest political agendas and ideologies. I see this so often with Christians uncritically absorbing all the latest secular left nonsense. They just end up as rabid secular lefties with a bit of Christianese thrown in.

As but one example, I used to know a gal who was once a good biblical Christian. But then she changed, and now the only thing she posts is rabid leftist rubbish straight out of the world of the Greens, the ABC, the Age, etc. It is now all frenzied Abbott-hatred and angry views on asylum seeker policy, etc.

Biblical truth and reasonable analysis are now gone. Instead it is all government-bashing leftism. She even said she was sick of hearing about criticism of Islam and the IS. I replied: ‘Of course you are not one of those being killed, tortured, raped, etc, so it is easy for you to say you are tired of hearing about this.’

Then she actually claimed that our treatment of people in detention centres is just the same as what IS is doing! Such appalling moral equivalence is of course utter foolishness: no, there is nothing at all morally similar between sensible and careful immigration policies and what the Islamic State is doing around the world.

No one is condemning genuine compassion and care for refugees and asylum seekers, especially legitimate ones, and not just economic refugees or queue jumpers. But far too often these believers have simply bought into failed and dangerous left-wing policies which actually make matters worse. By regurgitating the standard lines of the radical Greens, the Socialist Alliance, or the Guardian newspaper, they simply compound problems.

And where were all these ‘concerned Christians’ when the left was in power here, when hundreds were dying at sea, drowning because of failed leftist policies? I never heard a peep out of these so-called caring Christians then. But when Abbott got in, stopped the boats, and saved countless lives, then their hate and rants went into hyper-drive.

One has to ask these lefties just how many refugee families they have taken into their own homes. And if not, why not. They love to sit in Pharasaical judgment on others for not being as “compassionate” as they are. But there is nothing compassionate in insisting that others do something when they will not do anything. Sorry folks, but this just reeks of lousy hypocrisy.

Importing chaos and terrorism

Not only do dodgy leftist policies simply exacerbate the problem and make things worse, but clueless Christians who insist that we take in all refugees, open slather, no questions asked, are utterly naïve about the reality of terrorism and how it works. The truth is, their misguided “compassion” will see far more bloodshed on Western streets.

A failure to promote proper immigration and assimilation is one big problem. Allowing terrorists to enter a country pretending to be refugees is another big problem. The situation in Sweden is a good case in point. Some eye-opening articles on the situation there need to be read by everyone. Here are a few snippets from these pieces:

So far, in 2015, 150,000 asylum seekers have been registered; but as there is nowhere to house them, people are sleeping in tents, on cardboard boxes in exhibition halls, and even on the street. Many run away from the Immigration Service facilities. More than 22,000 people are supposed to be deported but refuse to leave. Swedes are understandably terrified that terrorists might be hiding among the refugees. The police are busy with pointless border controls and cannot attend to their normal work. It is not an exaggeration to say that in this situation, Sweden has lost track of pretty much everything.
Even the asylum seekers are complaining. On a Swedish public television program, Uppdrag Granskning, aired on December 2, Salwa, a mother of young children, told the reporter how she is forced to live in an asylum house along with men she called “bad people.” When the reporter explained to Salwa that 10,000 new asylum seekers arrive every week, and this was why everything was topsy-turvy, she replied: “Then close the borders. Stop taking in more people. If you have ten guests in your house and there is not enough room, would you still take in ten more?”

Problems are everywhere:

Once upon a time, there was a safe welfare state called Sweden, where people rarely locked their doors. Now, this country is a night-watchman state — each man is on his own. When the Minister of Justice, Morgan Johansson, encourages breaking the law, it means opening the gates to anarchy. Mr. and Mrs. Swede have every reason to be worried, with the influx of 190,000 unskilled and unemployed migrants expected this year — equivalent to 2% of Sweden’s current population. The number is as if 6.4 million penniless migrants who did not speak English arrived in U.S. in one year, or 1.3 million in Britain.
And the Swedes are preparing: demand for firearms licenses is increasing; more and more Swedes are joining shooting clubs and starting vigilante groups. After a slight dip in 2014, the number of new gun permits has gone up significantly again this year. According to police statistics, there are 1,901,325 licensed guns, owned by 567,733 people, in Sweden. Add to this an unknown number of illegal weapons….
Even before the massive influx of migrants in the fall of 2015, Swedes felt a need to protect themselves – and with good reason. Since the Parliament decided in 1975 that Sweden should be multicultural and not Swedish, crime has exploded. Violent crime has increased by more than 300%, and rapes have increased by an unbelievable 1,472%.
The politicians, however, ignore the people’s fear completely. It is never discussed. Instead, the people who express concern about what kind of country Sweden has become are accused of xenophobia and racism. Most likely, that is the reason more and more people are taking matters into their own hands, and protecting themselves and their families to the best of their ability.

Fake passports are now a huge problem for Europeans:

Fake Syrian passports aren’t exactly a dime a dozen, but they can be had for as little as $200, according to a report from the Department of Homeland Security that could call into question the ability to screen Middle East refugees fleeing to the West. The 18-page report, circulated to law enforcement agencies across the nation, warns that a certain batch of Syrian passports – those issued since June 2014 from two regions under the Islamic State control, Deir- ez-Zour and Raqqa – are likely to be phonies, based on the fact one was bought on the black market in Turkey.

Another article on this begins this way:

Authorities in Germany are powerless to halt the asylum claims of tens of thousands of migrants using fake Syrian documents, MailOnline can reveal. Officials registering applications have been overwhelmed by the 500,000-plus refugees who have streamed into the country since the beginning of the year. A huge number of claims for asylum that are supported by passports and identity cards that appear to be false, a police forensic expert has revealed. MailOnline highlighted the roaring trade in false Syrian documents in September. The exclusive story revealed how a reporter bought a Syrian passport, identity card and driving licence for $2000 under the name of a real man who was killed in Aleppo.

The Swiss are also fully aware of these realities:

Two people of Syrian origin have been arrested in Geneva on suspicion of transporting ‘explosives and toxic gases’ as part of a probe into a terror threat. Traces of explosives were found in the suspects’ car, but toxic gas was not, Geneva prosecutor Olivier Jornot revealed today.
Mr Jornot said the two men, who spoke Arabic, had just arrived in Geneva. More arrests are expected to be made in the coming days amid heightened security on Switzerland’s border with France. He sidestepped questions on whether the men had visas which allowed them to travel freely through the passport Schengen zone.
The two men are accused of the ‘manufacture, concealment and transport of explosives and toxic gases’, the federal prosecutor’s office has said. They are also under suspicion of violating Swiss law prohibiting ‘groups like Al-Qaeda, Islamic State and similar organisations’, it added.

Or consider Finland:

Two members of an ISIS death squad which murdered at least 1,700 people have been arrested posing as refugees in Finland—and that country’s security services have identified at least another 300 “refugees” with confirmed terrorist links. The two ISIS death squad members – identified only as 23-year-old twin brothers from Iraq – were arrested after being identified as having been part of the murderous gang which massacred thousands of Iraqi air force recruits by shooting them in the back of the head.
The massacre was filmed by ISIS and put onto the Internet, but the participants were not hooded, allowing for later identification of the gunmen. The two ISIS murderers entered Finland in September, claiming to be refugees, and were housed at an invader center in the southwestern town of Forssa. It was there that they were arrested on Tuesday, December 8, after they were positively identified from the ISIS video.

Of course many people are leaving their Islamic hell-holes to enjoy the freedom and prosperity of the West. And who could blame them? But that does not a refugee make. One media outlet featured a very revealing interview of a Syrian “refugee” and why he came:

The confession is contained in an article prepared by a well-known Iranian-born writer living in Germany, Ramin Peymani, and published in that newspaper’s German edition. The article, titled Der Syrer – eine Flüchtlingsgeschichte (“The Syrians—a Refugee Story,” Dec. 2, 2015), starts off by Peymani explaining that he met up with the Syrian refugee by chance in the checkout line at a local grocery store in Germany.
Being Iranian, Peymani could speak fluently with the “refugee,” who freely admitted that he, and all the others claiming to be refugees, were not fleeing war, but had merely come in search of jobs and money. The Syrian told Peymani that his mother lived in America, and that his sister was still in Syria. “Did you escape with your mother? Why your sister has not come?” Peymani asked. “No, I did not flee. None of us had to flee,” the Syrian freely admitted.
“The Assad regime is cruel and unjust, but you can live in Syria, if you just don’t mess with it.” Peymani then asked if the Syrian had then fled from the Islamic State terrorists. The Syrian’s answer in this regard was revealing as well:
“I come from Damascus, like most of us [refugees] do that I’ve met in the camp. There is no IS [in Damascus]; it is in other regions, for example, towards Iraq.” Peymani then asked him the logical next question: “Are you saying that most Syrians do not flee from war and persecution?”
The Syrian answered: “Yes. My friends and I went because we didn’t want to go to the army. And because it is easier to get a good job and earn money in Europe.” Peymani then wanted to know why so many Syrians had come so suddenly. “Why now are so many coming? Is it because the Assad regime has become worse?”
The Syrian replied: “No. He [Assad] has been in power many years already. The regime is cruel and can kill opponents, but my family and I have not been touched, and none of my friends either.” So why had they all now come to Europe, Peymani asked, to which the Syrian replied: “In the summer we saw on the Internet that Germany wanted people to live there. We were invited to come here. And it was said that the state would take care of us and we would be given jobs. But I cannot find one…”

Many more such stories can be shared here. But the truth is, much of European refugee policy is a complete shambles. There is of course a place for genuine refugees to be helped by the West. But this must be done with the utmost care, caution and wisdom. Sadly all that seems to be in short supply.

In the name of a faulty notion of “compassion” we have created huge problems, and we are not helping those we claim to be helping. And if in our zeal to appear tolerant and accepting we end up allowing many terrorists into our countries, everyone will suffer as a result.
