Time Is Getting Short: Know Who Your Friends Are!

Stay Alert

What is happening today is showing us who is the real deal and who is not:

I have said it before and I must say it again: when a culture becomes so consumed by alarmism and fear, and has imbibed so deeply of the panic porn and media-driven hysteria, folks will start to do anything. And that includes even turning on friends and loved ones.

And the worst bit is how many Christians are joining in with all this. The numerous examples I have come across are very scary indeed. So many of them have rejected what their own Bible teaches and have just become worshippers of the all-powerful State. ‘The State is my shepherd, I shall not want.’ Whatever the Big Brother nanny state tells them, they will do it. When told to jump, they ask how high.

They are quite happy to see churches closed, pastors being arrested, and Christians vilified and condemned. They will readily hide in their homes, wear masks everywhere, and get an endless round of injections if they believe that will somehow ‘keep them safe.’

And they actually prefer to side with the secular left state as they denounce other Christians. They will be the first to snitch on their Christian neighbours and turn them in to the authorities. A time will come when these same folks readily give us the thumbs down when we are taken away to the camps.

Yeah I know, some critics are saying: ‘Bill, you are being so alarmist here’. Actually, I am simply being a good student of Scripture and history. Both tell us that full-tilt repression and tyranny does not come overnight – it develops incrementally, a little bit at a time.

The death camps were not there in the early 1930’s in Germany. The idea for them may well have been around for a while, but they only came later. The initial steps were the constant propaganda and brainwashing to convince the majority that certain folks were unclean, dangerous, a threat to public health and safety, and should be seen as non-persons.

When you can convince the masses that certain groups are non-persons, it makes it much more easy to do what you like with them. And it starts off with the small things: they are forbidden to travel, or go to school, or go into shops, or get access to basic goods and services, or have any presence in the public arena.

Their liberties and basic human rights are stripped away from them. Then they are rounded up and put into ghettos. Then they are put on the trains and sent to the camps. It does not happen overnight. But it happens. I see the same sorts of things taking place right now in the once free West.

Indeed, as I have documented before, those elderly Holocaust survivors who are still alive in America and elsewhere are now sounding the alarm. What they now see terrifies them: they have seen it all happen before. The same sort of discrimination and segregation is now well under way.

We may not need to have a yellow star sewn onto our garments. But a yellow syringe might suffice. Vaccine passports and mandates are now all the rage. We now have a two-tiered society where rank bigotry and prejudice are the order of the day.

I have already been kicked out of various places such as cafes – and even a Christian bookstore! Don’t get me started on that one! Far too many Christian businesses are ‘simply following orders’. No one wants to stand up for what is right. They comply so readily. And so sheepishly. Instead of resisting unjust and discriminatory orders, they meekly go along with it all.

But especially alarming are all the ‘Christian’ churches who have fully bowed down to all this. Most were quite happy to let the secular state shut them down for months on end. And most are now happy to fully engage in religious segregation in denying entry to the unclean – to the unvaxxed.

I even saw a picture of one woke church in Cape Town that has told Jesus to butt out. This church actually had a large banner hanging outside with these words: “The blood of Jesus will not save you from COVID. Get vaccinated.” Um, so Jesus was not really the great healer? Jesus is simply irrelevant here? It is now Big Pharma that is to be our Lord and Saviour? Good grief, what blasphemy.

(And no, I am NOT saying it is either faith in God or modern medicine. Both are needed. But for far too many believers it is all about trusting in Pfizer and not God. I actually just had one of these ‘Christians’ chewing me out, foolishly claiming we do not take any medicines. I told her that if she cannot distinguish between choosing to take an aspirin, and being coerced by the state to have an experimental drug injected into your body or lose all your rights and liberties, she may be beyond reasoning with.)

Thankfully a few brave pastors have opposed all this coercion and the Big Brother assaults on our faith. Some have spent time in prison for this as a result. We recently interviewed one of these champions here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9CbDcDC61LE

But it is getting harder and harder to find a true church – at least here in Melbourne. Most have effectively decided to rebuke Jesus for hanging around with lepers and other undesirables. But a few churches still follow the Bible and do not segregate or discriminate. I hope to be at one of these churches this Sunday if you want to join me: https://www.hillsbiblechurch.org/

But none of this should surprise us. Seeing churches stand directly against biblical principles, and seeing Christians siding against true believers as they slavishly bow down to the state is not something that should be unexpected. After all, Jesus told us that this very thing would happen. As he said in Matthew 10:16-25:

I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves. Be on your guard; you will be handed over to the local councils and be flogged in the synagogues. On my account you will be brought before governors and kings as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles. But when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say, for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you. “Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death. You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. When you are persecuted in one place, flee to another. Truly I tell you, you will not finish going through the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes. “The student is not above the teacher, nor a servant above his master. It is enough for students to be like their teachers, and servants like their masters. If the head of the house has been called Beelzebul, how much more the members of his household!

Or as he warned in John 16:2-4: “They will put you out of the synagogue; in fact, a time is coming when anyone who kills you will think he is offering a service to God. They will do such things because they have not known the Father or me. I have told you this, so that when the time comes you will remember that I warned you.”

This sort of persecution and opposition has happened often in the past and will continue to. But as I see more and more believers angrily denouncing us and siding with the statists, I can see how the sorts of things Jesus foretold will indeed happen in this context as well. And it is not being alarmist to suggest so.

But let me wrap this up by sharing a few passages from my Bible reading today. First, what Paul said to the Corinthians seems so very appropriate for so many Christians in the West today “Wake up from your drunken stupor” (1 Cor. 15:34).

And what he said here is not all that dissimilar from what so many of us have been going through over the past 20 months or so:For we do not want you to be unaware, brothers, of the affliction we experienced in Asia. For we were so utterly burdened beyond our strength that we despaired of life itself” (2 Corinthians 1:8). It sure has been a hard slog, but by God’s grace we will keep going.

Finally, this from Paul in 1 Corinthians 16:13: “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.” Yes, stand strong saints! We will prevail – one way or another – by God’s grace.
