It should be clear by now that Barack Obama is America’s most pro-abortion President ever. It should be equally clear that he is also the most-pro-homosexual President of all time. If anyone doubts this, his latest act of madness should remove all doubt. Obama has just declared June to be Gay Pride Month.
More specifically, he wants all of us to celebrate and promote June as LGBT Pride Month. For those not in the know, this stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender. Obama said this in the proclamation: “I continue to support measures to bring the full spectrum of equal rights to LGBT Americans”.
But of course he is being disingenuous here. Homosexuals as individuals already have the very same rights as any other American. What Obama wants to do is grant special rights to homosexual couples. He wants, in other words, to destroy marriage and family in order to placate a militant and vocal minority group.
So what the American leader really wants his citizens to do is spend a whole month celebrating a high risk and dangerous lifestyle. Imagine if a world leader anywhere proclaimed June to be drink-driving appreciation month. Or tobacco pride month. Or promiscuity awareness month.
We know full well that the homosexual lifestyle is far from something to celebrate, endorse or encourage. HIV/AIDS is simply one of many very real health risks associated with this lifestyle. Would any politician dare to promote other equally harmful lifestyles?
How in the world can the leader of the free world sink so low, and so cater to activist minority groups, that he is going to devote an entire month to promoting such a lifestyle? And this is the guy who tried to persuade evangelical Christians that he was one of them just prior to the election.
Of course he fooled many along the way. Now we are stuck with one of the most blatant social engineers and ideological activists to reside in the White House. He seems intent on destroying the nation, and many people don’t even seem to give a rip. I thought that those who were elected as President of the United States swore to preserve and protect the country, not commit national hari kari.
Moral decline has always been a chief means by which a nation has gone under. Obama seems especially intent on hastening this process. Has he learned nothing from the lessons of history? Does he not care at all that a once great nation is rapidly going down the gurgler?
And the really amazing thing is how quickly the West has embarked upon this course of collective suicide. Radical activists of course will say the change of thinking concerning homosexuality and other activities is a sign of progress and enlightenment. The truth is, it is a sign of regress.
Not all that long ago most people were in agreement that this was a dangerous lifestyle which should not be paraded or glorified. Consider these words, for example: “Even in purely nonreligious terms, homosexuality represents a misuse of the sexual faculty and, in the words of one…educator, of ‘human construction.’ It is a pathetic little second-rate substitute for reality, a pitiable flight from life. As such it deserves fairness, compassion, understanding, and, when possible, treatment. But it deserves no encouragement, no glamorization, no rationalization, no fake status as a minority martyrdom…”
So who said that? Some redneck religious fundamentalist? Not quite. It was uttered by Time magazine, Jan. 21, 1966. The times are a changin’ alright. But not all change is good. Much change is a step in the wrong direction.
And in such times of marching the wrong way, those who want to turn around a ship headed to its destruction will appear to be obscurantists and troublemakers. As C.S. Lewis once put it, “When the whole world is running towards a cliff, he who is running in the opposite direction appears to have lost his mind.”
But we need a whole lot more folk who appear to have lost their mind. They are vitally needed in a day and age in which governments and our ruling elites have completely lost their moral marbles, and are wandering around pushing every latest foolish and destructive cause.
No nation can last long in a state of moral asphyxia. More than ever we need leaders with some moral backbone, not spineless wonders who are fixated on political correctness and are addicted to the praise of social demolition crews.
I for one will not be celebrating this June. I will be grieving for a nation which has lost its way, and for a leader who is more concerned about placating noisy minority groups than defending the national good.
