Why is it that some nations keep appearing in the top five moonbat nations of the year category? Why do some countries consistently take out the prize for being the most politically correct, and therefore the most morally numbed and mentally melted?
The truth is, just as individuals can go off the rails big time and really lose the plot, so too can nations. And some nations, it seems, have been going down the gurgler a lot more often and a lot more thoroughly than others. Surely one nation which takes the cake here is Sweden.
It is in advanced stages of intellectual and moral degeneracy, and shows no signs of turning things around. I of course have written often about the PC shenanigans which regularly take place in this Scandinavian nation. It has for decades now decided that committing national suicide is a fun thing to do.
Absolute PC lunacy seems to be a national pastime with this country, and it seems to want to outdo itself with each new case of moonbattery. Consider the latest example of moral hari-kari, the latest example of its war against marriage and family.
Here is how one news report covers the story: “At the Egalia preschool, staff avoid using words like ‘him’ or ‘her’ and address the 33 kids as ‘friends’ rather than girls and boys. From the colour and placement of toys to the choice of books, every detail has been carefully planned to make sure the children don’t fall into gender stereotypes. ‘Society expects girls to be girlie, nice and pretty and boys to be manly, rough and outgoing,’ says Jenny Johnsson, a 31-year-old teacher. ‘Egalia gives them a fantastic opportunity to be whoever they want to be.’
“The taxpayer-funded preschool which opened last year in the liberal Sodermalm district of Stockholm for kids aged one to six is among the most radical examples of Sweden’s efforts to engineer equality between the sexes from childhood onward. Breaking down gender roles is a core mission in the national curriculum for preschools, underpinned by the theory that even in highly egalitarian-minded Sweden, society gives boys an unfair edge. To even things out, many preschools have hired ‘gender pedagogues’ to help staff identify language and behaviour that risk reinforcing stereotypes.”
Can you believe this absolute insanity? Now Swedish preschools have gender cops roaming the halls, ready to drag away little Bjorn or little Hilda into re-education camps for daring to live out the gender they were born with. Today – in some parts of Sweden at least – it seems it is a crime to be a boy or a girl.
It appears that the only evil in Sweden is to actually allow boys to be boys and girls to be girls. The destruction of marriage is fine. The war against the family is just peachy. The radical feminist agenda is neato, and the push of the social engineering homosexuals is fine and dandy.
But dare to have a child remain true to his or her – sorry, to its – gender, and then you are asking for trouble – big time. Perhaps soon they will outlaw all gender differences. Maybe they will force men to breastfeed their babies and force women to have vasectomies.
But wait, there’s more: “Egalia is unusual even for Sweden. Staff try to shed masculine and feminine references from their speech, including the pronouns him or her – ‘han’ or ‘hon’ in Swedish. Instead, they’ve have adopted the genderless ‘hen,’ a word that doesn’t exist in Swedish but is used in some feminist and gay circles.
“‘We use the word “hen” for example when a doctor, police, electrician or plumber or such is coming to the kindergarten,’ Rajalin says. ‘We don’t know if it’s a he or a she so we just say “Hen is coming around 2pm”. Then the children can imagine both a man or a woman. This widens their view’.”
The extent of this radical social engineering is really mind-boggling. Large parts of Sweden are well on their way to creating – or attempting to create – the world’s first androgynous society. No males, no females, just a bunch of genderless things moving about.
This is a frightening brave new world scenario which even the dystopian novelists like Orwell or Huxley could barely have imagined. The complete dehumanisation of mankind – sorry, itkind – is well on the way, all in the name of some generic humanity of course. Sorry, that should be hu-it-ity.
So complete and so thorough has been this relentless war against gender differences, common sense and basic reason that Sweden is now one of the most PC nations on earth. Pity the poor children who have to grow up in this giant laboratory of social experimentation and gender-bending zaniness.
Indeed, kids are the real losers here. Why not just snatch them all away from their parents during their first hours of life and put them in collectivist androgyny farms. Indeed, throw them in with the animals while we are at it. Why be so species-ist, and deny them the right to explore all possibilities in life? Why not let them choose to be a pig or a cockroach if they want to?
Why limit their life choices? Why force them into stereotypical moulds of homo-sapiens? That is so narrow, so discriminatory, and so bourgeois. How dare we stifle our kids in this way. Indeed, why insist they must conform to some intolerant and restrictive life form?
Why not let them decide if they want to be a rock, or a clump of dirt, or a basketball? How can we deny our kids this universal right to reject everything about themselves, and embrace any possible lifestyle or thingstyle? How dare we hold back their potential in this way?
We should banish forever the idea that children are just mere life-forms. If they want to really be free to follow their dreams, let them be skateboards, or cheeseburgers, or mouse pads if they want to be. How dare a rigid society coerce them into a predetermined mould?
It is time to really liberate our kids from these restrictive and discriminatory straightjackets. If our kids want to be who they really are – be it fungi, or donuts, or entire solar systems – then let them be free indeed. It is time to put an end to this stifling conformity and narrow-mindedness.
Gee, looked at in this way, Sweden really is a rather reactionary, old-fashioned and totalitarian place to be. Come on Sweden, lighten up and get a bigger vision of what real freedom is all about. Stop your discrimination and close-mindedness. It is time to really embrace radical and complete freedom.
After all, we do want the very best for our children, don’t we?
