If you think you can allow a whole lot of Muslim immigration into a Western nation, and yet somehow be spared the problems that we find in Muslim countries, then you are simply living in dreamland. Whenever you have a group of Muslims living together, you will likely find Muslim behaviour and activities taking place. Obviously.
So if Islam fully approves of things like child brides, violent jihad against the infidels, and the spread of sharia law throughout the land, then of course you will find these things being promoted and engaged in wherever Muslims find themselves – even in free and democratic Western nations.
If a would-be immigrant refuses to go along with these basic requirements, then a Western country has every right to say no to them. But sadly, at least until recently, most Western nations have been far too worried about being accused of “racism” or “Islamophobia” to actually make such sensible entry conditions.
And they have too foolishly bought into political correctness and failed multiculturalism policies to take some proper steps to protect themselves. As a result we see creeping sharia and stealth jihad all over the West. And it is looking rather ugly.
As we speak we have Muslims rioting in the streets of Paris with fires blazing throughout the capital, and violent protests taking place in other major cities such as London. England and Europe have been experiencing these sorts of Muslim-related problems for years now.
But here I want to look at the Australian scene. Here too our influx of Muslims with little or no concerns about where their ultimate allegiances lie have resulted in plenty of problems. While many Muslims do want to live peacefully here, far too many simply refuse to fit in and integrate into Australian culture, but instead want to continue the sharia wars being fought in their homelands.
So let me offer three more recent examples of this. In Sydney we have another tragic case of a child bride, and the demand that sharia law override Australian law. As one news item reports:
A child bride allegedly married off at 12 was told sharia law “overrides” Australian law, court documents revealed. In a case that has brought awareness of secret child brides in Australia, the girl’s father and the 26-year-old man she “wed” were charged in February over numerous child sex offences. Documents that formed part of a successful apprehended violence order application by police at the time against the girl’s “husband” state that the young girl “believed or had been informed that sharia law overrides the Australian law”.
“She stated that together with the accused they had been trying to get him registered as her legal guardian with Centrelink in order to obtain any welfare benefits they could,” the court documents state.
The police allege in the AVO document that the 26-year-old man, who was charged with 25 counts of sexual intercourse with a child, admitted to officers on the day he was arrested that he had had sex with the girl daily since the religious ceremony in the living room of the girl’s Hunter Valley home on January 12.
Yep – sharia law must always trump Australian law. And this is not an isolated incident. True Muslims believe that only Allah’s laws are valid, and that Western laws are not. So here we have a prime example of a sixth century culture coming into the modern West, seeking to implement that archaic culture.
My second example is not much better:
A Sydney sheikh has been accused of funding a central figure in the Syrian conflict, an Australian-Lebanese dual national with ties to Al Qaeda and who runs a well-armed militia in northern Lebanon. Zouheir Issa has been preaching at south-west Sydney’s Al-Azhar Belmore Mosque since coming to Australia in 2005. An adherent of the ultraconservative Salafi Islamic strain, he is no friend to the Syrian government of Bashar al Assad.
But what has been unrevealed until now is that Australian authorities believe he has provided funding to Houssam Sabbagh – a Lebanese man who lived in Sydney for two decades but is today a powerful militia leader in the northern Lebanese city of Tripoli.
Mr Sabbagh is wanted in Lebanon on weapons charges. He is regularly described in the Lebanese press as being involved with Al Qaeda and helping to provide fighters and weapons for jihadist groups fighting in Syria, including the Al Qaeda-linked group, Jabhat Al-Nusrah. Funding organisations such as Al-Nusrah, which is a proscribed terrorist organisation in Australia is a crime.
The allegations will concern authorities, who are already on the alert due to the dozens of young Australians who have travelled to Syria to fight with groups such as Al-Nusrah and the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). “It’s the greatest security threat to Australia this century,” former head of counter terrorism for Scotland Yard, Nick O’Brien, told the ABC’s 7.30 program.
Again, this would not be an isolated incident. Mosques are often used as recruiting grounds for jihadists and holy warfare, both at home and abroad. The mosque is not at all the equivalent of a Christian church, but much more like a political centre, a court of sharia law, a school, and a military training centre. My third example is equally frightening. Young Australian Muslims are going overseas to fight and die for Allah:
A teenage boy from Western Sydney has become Australia’s second suicide bomber, blowing himself up in a brutal terrorist attack which killed at least five people and injured up to 90 in a Baghdad market. The Saturday Telegraph has learned the boy was 16 years old when he left Sydney for Iraq late last year to join terrorist insurgents in Syria but had since turned 17.
Intelligence sources have confirmed the boy’s age and that he was from Western Sydney. It is believed he travelled with other young men seeking to join ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) forces fighting in Syria and Iraq, and had family links to the now notorious convicted Sydney terrorist Khaled Sharrouf. His family are believed to have been aware of his intentions but could not stop him.
A later article revealed that he was in fact a teenager from Melbourne. But once again, he is not the first Australian Muslim to do this, and he will not be the last. These sad cases illustrate the truth I have been trying to highlight here: You can take a Muslim out of a Muslim country, but you cannot necessarily take Islam out of him in his new host country.
That is why we need to get a whole lot smarter and more careful real soon. Allowing almost anyone in for almost any reason, without being much more cautious and discerning about who they are and what they believe is a recipe for disaster. And we are seeing that played out here basically each passing day now.
