In Stalinist Russia, Nazi Germany, or Mao’s China, an integral part of maintaining those totalitarian police states was the heavy hand of censorship. All contrary points of view had to be ruthlessly and forcefully resisted and silenced. No thinking except state-approved thinking was allowed.
We may be glad that we are not living in such barbaric and tyrannical regimes, but the truth is, we are in many ways already living in such a thought police culture. I have documented this time and time again, and I can here offer more such examples.
Let me begin with two recent articles on abortion in the MSM. Both were pro-death pieces which were great examples of mental and moral mushiness. In both case I wrote about them, and in both cases I – and many others – wrote in letters to the editor to give the other side of the story.
And in both cases not one contrary letter appeared – not one. It was a total PC blanket of silence: no letter would be allowed in which was pro-life. And these in two different newspapers which probably think they are the bastion of fairness, openness and objectivity.
Well, not on this issue. On the issue of abortion, there is an iron wall of censorship which will keep out any competing points of view. It is exactly the same with the issue of homosexuality. It is nearly impossible today to find anything at all even remotely critical of the homosexual agenda in the MSM.

That certainly has been the case: absolutely not a peep out of the MSM or even the homosexual lobby. This is a deliberate strategy of censorship: simply ignore the book and its evidence altogether, and hope that it just quietly goes away.
But to highlight the deliberate agenda setting going on here, consider another book released at the same time. Former High Court justice Michael Kirby’s new autobiography is out, and everywhere you turn in the MSM, there he is, talking about it and his homosexuality and support of same-sex marriage (even though he does not himself want marriage!).
He has been given a dream run everywhere to promote his lifestyle, and not one hostile question was asked, or one dissenting interview allowed. It was all a 100 per cent promotion of homosexuality and same-sex marriage. So books with a different point of view will be completely censored out, while pro-homosexual books will get a free run throughout the MSM.
Related to this is another topic which is the most taboo topic in all of the MSM. Not only is homosexuality heavily promoted everywhere, and any dissenting views absolutely squashed, but one subset of all this is even more of a no-go area.
I refer to those cases of when adult men are caught out with having sex with boys. This is nothing other than homosexual paedophilia and child abuse, but the MSM seems to have sworn a vow of silence on this one. Of course there are a few exceptions. If it turns out this activity has taken place in a church setting, then it is front page news.
Consider the Australian case of a recently deceased sports broadcaster. It seems he committed suicide because he was caught out having sex with some African boys. One of the few journalists to have the guts to actually report on this is Andrew Bolt.
He begins his piece this way: “If Peter Roebuck were a Catholic priest, rather than a cricket writer, would there have been this silence? The silence I mean is the hush by his employers and some close colleagues over what drove him to jump from the sixth floor of his South African hotel on Saturday. In fact, what we need is not silence but some explanations from Fairfax newspapers and the ABC, of the kind that they would demand from the Catholic Church.
“The bare facts of Roebuck’s death were known to media insiders within hours. On his last evening, detectives interviewed him in his room over allegations of sexual assault. In distress, he called a friend, ABC commentator Jim Maxwell. Minutes after Maxwell left, and with a policeman still in the room, Roebuck jumped from a window.”
Yet most of the MSM refuses to even mention any of these sordid details. Why? Well, it does not serve the interests of the homosexual agenda of course, so therefore it must be censored out at all costs. The MSM dare not actually report truth and facts if doing so harms its radical causes.
A very similar situation has just occurred in the US. A leading college football coach has lost his job because of the same activities: sexual relations with boys. The Penn State University defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky had been molesting boys as young as ten.
But again, the MSM has been loath to actually tell it like it is. As Peter LaBarbera writes: “Many openly homosexual (‘gay’) men, like CNN anchor Don Lemon, were molested as boys or experienced abnormally early sexualization. Yet many of these same men do NOT see their boyhood victimization at the hands of homosexual male predators as causing their homosexuality. (This is due partly to the success of the modern ‘gay’ movement that falsely ascribes ‘gayness’ to a person’s (innate) identity, and emphasizes the ambiguous notion of ‘sexual orientation’ as opposed to behavior that is sinful, destructive and changeable.)
“Thus, how many boy victims of homosexual predator Sandusky will end up believing that being homosexual (‘gay’) is ‘who they are’? How many will struggle with sexual identity issues? And how many will be told by LGBT advocates and liberal-minded people just to ‘accept being gay’ as ‘who they are’ because they were ‘born that way’?
“Because the media and academia have largely become apologists for the modern homosexualist movement, they downplay or ignore obvious causative factors in the formation of ‘gay’ identity – including pederastic molestation. CNN’s Lemon is a case in point: he is now an ‘out gay’ celebrity, yet few question the absurdity of him not associating the molestation of his youth with his later embrace of homosexuality as a positive identity.
“There IS a long history connecting homosexuality to pederasty, and a disproportionate link between homosexuality and pedophilia: why else would so many child molestation victims be boys when only 1-3 percent of the population is homosexual? Since cases of women molesting boys remain rare, if homosexuality were not such a strong factor, nearly all of pedophile victims should be girls, which is far from the case.”
And American commentator Michael L. Brown notes that even fellow conservatives are afraid to speak of these issues: “What is it about the Penn State scandal that is ‘glaring; it’s right in front of everybody,’ and yet ‘Nobody has the guts to actually give the explanation for what was going on and why there was trepidation in reporting it’?
“Could it be that the sex abuse scandal involved a man allegedly abusing boys, meaning that the acts were homosexual in nature? And could it be that even Rush Limbaugh didn’t have the guts to address this? (Contrary to the protestations of some, a man who is sexually involved with boys is a homosexual pedophile; a man who is sexually involved with girls is a heterosexual pedophile.)
“Of course, the fact there are homosexual pedophiles does not mean that all (or most) gays are child abusers. Certainly not! And yet even Rush Limbaugh, it appears, would not address this directly…. Within the last few months, both Microsoft and the CEO of Starbucks capitulated to gay activist pressure after two separate petition drives yielded signatures numbering in the hundreds at Change.org (that’s right, in the hundreds).
“And one year ago, Apple caved in to gay activist pressure and removed a conservative political and religious app (the Manhattan Declaration), stating that the app was deemed ‘offensive to large groups of people.’ Yet Apple continued to host apps for anonymous gay sex encounters, despite calls for their removal. This is not ‘offensive to large groups of people’?
“But we return to Rush. If, in fact, I misunderstood him, then he has my profound apology. If I understood him correctly, then he has my profound appeal: Speak up, Rush, and don’t be afraid. Surely you have the guts.”
So while there is a media blackout on things like the pro-life position and those critical of the militant homosexual agenda, the other side gets a complete dream run by the MSM. Here is just one example of so many of people being persecuted simply for standing up for traditional marriage and family values. It is now a very dangerous thing indeed to be a Christian who seeks to publicly affirm the faith. It is becoming more and more risky each passing day.
So the ugly censorship of totalitarian regimes seems to be alive and well in the West. And it is getting worse each passing day. Unless we begin to stand up and be counted here, we may soon lose all our freedoms. And if we do, we will mainly have ourselves to blame.
