Let’s Just Jail All Prolifers

Just in case you have not yet realised it, we are in a war. Broadly speaking, there are many who can be described as secular humanists who are working overtime to undo millennia of the Judeo-Christian worldview. They are on a mission to undermine, if not destroy, all that we hold near and dear.

They have launched a relentless attack on faith, freedom, family and life. They not only want to see such values done away with, but they are actively seeking to coerce people to embrace their agenda. Thus they are colluding with the state to see to it that those who resist are punished.

For example, they believe that those who dare to publicly proclaim that marriage is only between a man and a woman should be shouted down and punished. Thus many are being fined, jailed or losing their jobs – all because they have the courage to say no to the militant homosexual agenda. I document this constantly on my site.

This is true in other areas. If the radicals get their way, not only will abortion on demand be the law of the land worldwide, but anyone who dares to oppose this should be viewed as a criminal and dealt with accordingly. But don’t take my word for it.

Consider this headline: “UN Human Rights Commissioner seeks to criminalise abortion opposition”. Yep, the big cheeses at the UN are themselves telling us they hope to crush all opposition to the abortion agenda. The article begins this way:

“The recently re-appointed UN High Commissioner on Human Rights, Navanethem Pillay, has issued a document calling for governments to criminalise organised opposition to abortion by non-governmental groups such as pro-life lobbyists or even family members. The UN Human Rights Council published its ‘technical guidance’ to address maternal mortality and morbidity in July, to ‘assist policymakers in improving women’s health and rights.’

“The document starts from the abortion industry’s assertion that the best way to reduce maternal mortality is to introduce legalised abortion and reduce legal and other restrictions on abortion. Under the ‘rights-based’ approach to women’s health care, the document says, states are ‘obliged’ to use ‘maximum available resources’ to ‘protect against interference with sexual and reproductive health rights by third parties by enforcing appropriate laws, policies, regulations and guidelines. There is a strong presumption against any retrogressive measures in relation to sexual and reproductive health,’ the document continues.”

Wow – so let’s just lock them up and throw away the key. Pat Buckley of Human Rights Council lobbyist for the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children said this: “Ms. Pillay is seeking to make effective opposition to abortion provision unlawful on the part of parents; and to criminalize health professionals, administrators and NGOs (like SPUC) who seek to oppose abortion provision – including abortion provision to children under the age of consent.”

Indeed, the document says that “states may be held responsible for private acts if they fail to act with due diligence to prevent, investigate and punish violations of rights.” Says Buckley, “The main thrust of the document, instead of focusing on issues central to the reduction of maternal mortality, contains a thinly disguised pro-abortion agenda.”

So from the highest levels efforts are underway to silence all opposition to abortion, and to in fact criminalise such opposition. But until that happens, those with some sense and moral backbone will continue to stand up for the unborn, and resist the efforts of the baby killers.

Indeed, as but one example of this, consider the North African nation of Morocco. It has stood up against the pro-death lobby in dramatic fashion. As you may have heard, some militant pro-deathers from Holland have a floating baby-kill mill. But this small nation has had the courage to say no to these activists.

As one report states, “Moroccan authorities have taken action against the floating abortion mill commandeered by the Dutch abortion group Women on Waves. In a press release today, the abortion activist group notes that their ship was due to arrive in the harbor of Smir at 1pm local time but was blocked by warships. ‘Marina Smir has been completely closed,’ says the release. ‘Warships now block the entrance for the ship of Women on Waves.’

“On shore, according to Australian news reports, abortionist Rebecca Gomperts the head of the organization was taken away by police for her own protection after protesters carrying graphic abortion photos called her a ‘terrorist’ and an ‘assassin.’

“The abortion ship offers to use the abortion drug regimen called RU-486, a combination of Mifepristone and Misoprostol, for women with early term pregnancies. Women on Waves claims that according to international law, if the boat is outside a 12-mile radius from shore, Dutch law applies to the boat, allowing ‘medical’ or chemical abortions on board.

“But according to reports, few actual abortions are carried out on the ship; instead, it is mainly a method of generating publicity for local abortion campaigners. The group claims to have ‘created enormous public interest in its efforts and has completed successful campaigns in Ireland (2001), Poland (2003,) and Portugal (2004), and Spain (2008).’

“In reality however, as LifeSiteNews reported yesterday, the Women on Waves abortion ship has received less than enthusiastic greetings from many of the countries it has visited. In 2003, when it went to Poland, the ship was searched for illegal abortion drugs by customs officials. It was later pelted with eggs and paint by a large group of students protesting its presence in Gdansk, the cradle of the Polish Solidarity movement.”

Yes, most folks are smart enough and moral enough to know what a floating death machine is when they see it. So until the UN criminalises all such opposition, expect to see more of it, as those concerned about the most vulnerable continue to take a stand.
