Censorship and the MSM

If you want to know what is happening in the world, don’t rely on the mainstream media. At least, if you want to know about all the non-PC events, and the ones the secular left MSM refuses to cover, then you will need to look elsewhere.

This site has documented such censorship and one-sided news coverage for years now, and there is never a shortage of news items which we will not hear about if the MSM were our only source of information. Indeed, it is exactly because of all this rampant censorship that the alternative media arose in the first place.

Without it, we would often not even be aware of many events occurring around the world. Consider the major pro-life march just held in Washington DC on Jan 22, to commemorate the 39th anniversary of the infamous Roe v Wade abortion decision.

There were tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of pro-life marchers there, yet much of the MSM pretended it never even happened. Or if they did cover it, it was grossly under-reported with the usual diminution of numbers.

In fact, the way the MSM plays the number games is quite incredible. If a dozen homosexual activists hold some rally somewhere, the MSM will give them extensive coverage, and they will usually tell us that ‘hundreds’ showed up. Yet most media reports about the Washington march either did not even mention the numbers, or simply said ‘thousands’.

But there were clearly tens of thousands at least that marched. So they deflate the numbers of those causes they disagree with, while inflating the numbers of those causes they do. For example, for years the MSM spoke of ‘hundreds of thousands’ marching in the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, when the actual numbers were just a fraction of this.

But back to Washington: for a great illustration of the bias and censorship, consider the New York Times, the bastion of secular left opinion. It refused to even cover the Washington march! Not only that, but this is the fifth time in a row that the NYT has not even mentioned it.

There is simply no excuse for this whatsoever, and all it tells us is that the NYT is not an objective newspaper, but simply an organ for the promotion of various radical causes – in this case the pro-death agenda. If 15 pro-aborts managed a noisy demo somewhere, they would probably be featured on the front page of the NYT, and all the other prejudiced MSM outlets.

Here is how one alternative media site reported on this news blackout: “For the fifth year in a row, there was no story in the Times print edition on the annual March for Life against abortion in Washington, D.C., which every year draws massive crowds in unpromising weather on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court’s decision legalizing abortion.”

The article mentions what the paper did cover on the day in the area: “Under the subhead ‘Happenings in Washington,’ the Times highlighted these profound Monday events:
• The Boston Bruins, the N.H.L. Stanley Cup champions, will be honored by President Obama at the White House.
• There will be a ceremony in State Department’s Treaty Room with Han Duk-soo, South Korea’s ambassador to the United States, to sign a bilateral Environmental Cooperation Agreement.
Nothing about thousands of people marching down Constitution Avenue against abortion.”

So very typical. There are plenty of other examples of this deliberate censorship by the MSM. Simply by choosing what stories it will cover and what stories it will ignore, the MSM has a huge influence on what ordinary people come to know. Consider two recent stories about yet more homosexual assaults on freedom of religion and freedom of speech.

If you have not heard of these stories in the MSM, that is not at all surprising, and it of course makes my point. Both have to do with rather ugly cases of anti-Christian bigotry, and more bullying and thuggery from the militant homosexual lobby and their supporters amongst the activist judiciary.

The first has to do with a Christian retreat house which has been told it must bow to the homosexual agenda on its own premises. Here is how an alternative media outlet covered this story: “A New Jersey judge ruled against a Christian retreat house that refused to allow a same-sex civil union ceremony to be conducted on its premises, ruling the Constitution allows ‘some intrusion into religious freedom to balance other important societal goals.’

“On Thursday, administrative judge Solomon A. Metzger ruled that religious liberty did not exempt the seaside retreat, which is associated with the United Methodist Church, from renting its facilities out for purposes that violate its moral beliefs.”

That is some intrusion into religious freedom all right. It is happening all the time, and it will only get worse. That is part of the reason why we must all strenuously resist the militant homosexual agenda in general, and the push for same-sex marriage in particular.

Their militant campaigns will negatively impact on every single one of us, and the very freedoms we so much now value and take for granted are slowly but inexorably being whittled away. If we do not all stand up and be counted now, we soon may not be allowed any room to make objections to this new tyranny sweeping over the West.

Consider also another quite recent episode of homosexual bullying and intimidation. School kids who dare to express their opinions and religious convictions are increasingly being shouted down by our institutions of secular humanist indoctrination, otherwise known as schools.

Check out this worrying story: “A 15-year-old Wisconsin boy who wrote an op-ed opposing gay adoptions was censored, threatened with suspension and called ignorant by the superintendent of the Shawano School District, according to an attorney representing the child.

“Mathew Staver, the founder of the Liberty Counsel, sent a letter to Superintendent Todd Carlson demanding an apology for ‘Its unconstitutional and irrational censorship and humiliation’ of Brandon Wegner. Wegner, a student at Shawano High School, was asked to write an op-ed for the school newspaper about whether gays should be allowed to adopt. Wegner, who is a Christian, wrote in opposition. Another student wrote in favor of allowing gays to adopt.”

Yet more Christophobia and homosexual jackboot activity. This is occurring every day around the Western world, and will only get worse, unless a few brave souls start getting vocal and defend our freedoms while they last. Where are the Christian warriors who will stand up and fight all this brave new world tyranny by the homosexual zealots?

Where are the Christian leaders who are even discussing these matters? I see that the very brave Margaret Court is once again sticking her neck out to defend religious liberty and to defend biblical values. And she is doing it not just from the safety of her pulpit, but in Australia’s widest read newspaper.

I refer to her opinion piece in today’s Herald Sun. She begins her piece this way: “We live in a blessed nation but Australia is on a steep moral decline. Everywhere you look we are making excuses for a sliding lifestyle and more people are blind to it than ever before.

“Our Constitution is based on biblical principles and our nation is great because of it. We are a country with a moral fabric and families and marriage are at its core. But increasingly our kids are being taught that anything goes.

“As a society we are losing touch with fundamental Christian values, as our leaders lean towards an agenda of political correctness to keep the minorities happy. We live in a world of moral values. Even those without faith know what is right and what is wrong. We all have a conscience and so many people get trapped in the pattern of saying something is right when deep down they know it isn’t.

“It’s that attitude that can harden hearts. People suddenly justify the immoralities around them. We have taken the easy way out. Minorities are now making it harder for the majority. They are increasingly taking everything that is good in society and pushing it to the side.”

She goes on to speak biblical truth about marriage and homosexuality. And she makes no bones about publically and proudly confessing her Christian faith: “I had fame and success and a great husband but I always knew something was missing in my life. I used to think there had to be more to it.

“I knew He was there but I didn’t know how to make the connection. I didn’t understand how God could be real in my life. But then I accepted Jesus Christ, and believed that He came to Earth as the son of God, to die for our sins. Even then I didn’t understand the power of the Bible, his word. If I knew then what I knew now I could have won six Wimbledons, not three.”

Here is one Christian who has not allowed the gaystapo and the forces of political correctness to silence her. The truth is, she has more Holy Ghost boldness in her little finger than most Christian leaders have in total. Why is she one of the few to be willing to speak out and take all the abuse and hatred for it? Where are all the other Christian leaders when we need them?

Perhaps they are simply porking out on a steady diet of MSM mush, and have therefore sold out their biblical worldview for the latest bowl of PC pap. They certainly seem to have a worldview more informed by the opinion pages of the NYT than the Word of God.
