Even More Wins for Women and Children

Standing against the trans mafia:

My most recent article discussed three big wins when it comes to the promotion and protection of women and children, especially over and against the trans militants who are doing incalculable damage to so many. That piece looked at recent victories in the UK, New Zealand and America: https://billmuehlenberg.com/2025/04/17/a-triple-win-in-the-culture-wars/

Thankfully there are other wins of late that deserve a mention, so let me cover some more:

Hungary

Last month the conservative government of Hungary made a bold move to protect children and curtail some of the radical sexual agendas. As one report states:

On March 18th, Hungarian lawmakers passed a ban on Pride Parades and public events promoting LGBT ideology by a margin of 136 to 27. The ban amends the Child Protection Act passed in 2021, which forbade the promotion of LGBT ideology in middle schools and on primetime TV shows and resulted in an ongoing lawsuit against Hungary from the European Union.

Like the 2021 law, the new measure is intended to protect children from “early exposure” to LGBT ideology through public events that “promote and present gender nonconformity, gender reassignment, and homosexuality,” and mandates fines ranging from €15 and €500 for organizers or attendees.

After the vote, PM Viktor Orbán posted on X: “Today, we voted to ban gatherings that violate child protection laws. In Hungary, a child’s right to healthy physical, mental, intellectual, and moral development comes first. We won’t let woke ideology endanger our kids.” https://europeanconservative.com/articles/commentary/what-hungary-protects-children-from-by-banning-pride-parades/

And more recently the Hungarian government did this:

The Hungarian Parliament has passed a constitutional amendment declaring that people are “either man or woman.” Magyar Nemzet reports that the 15th Amendment to the Hungarian Constitution, proposed by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s government, was passed this week by 140 to 21 votes.

Next to declaring the bipolar reality of gender, the amendment also included other provisions to fight leftist and globalist ideologies. It enshrined the government’s ability to ban LGBT “pride” parades, as it declared that the “protection of children precedes the right of assembly.”

Last month, the Hungarian government banned the LGBT “pride” march in Budapest in order to protect children from the lewd public display. The amendment stipulates that every child “has the right to the protection and care necessary for his or her proper physical, mental, and moral development.”

This right precedes all other fundamental rights, except the right to life, the amendment declares. Hungary has been at the forefront of the fight for parental rights and against LGBT indoctrination of children. In 2021, Justice Minister Judit Varga stressed that “[h]ow Hungarian children are raised is the exclusive right of Hungarian parents.” https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/hungary-passes-constitutional-amendment-declaring-there-are-only-two-genders/?utm_source=digest-profamily-2025-04-17&utm_medium=email

Way to go Hungary and Orbán!

The UK

The Supreme Court win in the UK that I discussed in my earlier piece is still reverberating around the globe, with plenty of commentary. Spiked editor Brendan O’Neill rightly asks in The Australian, “Why did we need a court of law to tell us what a woman is?”:

There was a time when every babbling toddler knew there were men and women and that they were different. Even our Neanderthal forebears understood sex difference. They didn’t know much but they knew half the tribe was made up of grunting blokes who were good with spears, and the other half of females who might get pregnant. Ever since our kind came down from the trees we’ve known we are sexually dimorphic – even if we didn’t use words like that for a few more million years. And yet in 2025 we apparently need five judges to explain what a woman is.

He continues:

The judges at the highest court in our land were asked to settle a long-running spat between the Scottish government and a band of brilliant troublemaking feminists called For Women Scotland. Scotland’s arrogant ruling class, who’ve been drunk on wokeness for years, argued that the women’s rights outlined in the UK Equality Act extend to trans women, too.

If you have a gender recognition certificate saying you’re a woman, then you’re entitled to the sex-based protections provided in law, they said. In layman’s terms, this meant that dudes who claim to be ladies could potentially waltz into any women-only space that took their fancy. All these fellas would require is a piece of paper from the government and – boom – they could demand entry to women’s bathrooms, women’s refuges, women’s rape-crisis centres.

For those of us who think a government document no more makes a man a woman than Rachel Dolezal’s fake tan makes her black, it was an untenable situation. It is a death blow to women’s freedom of association, to their hard-won rights of privacy and dignity, when males are given dominion in the spaces they’ve carved out for themselves. And so women fought back.

He concludes:

All the ruling does is restate what we knew for centuries. Sex is binary. Men are not women. This was common sense about 15 years ago. Now it’s “bigotry”. We now have the extraordinary spectacle of newspaper front pages saying “Trans women are not women”.

Imagine trying to explain to your 2010 self that it would one day be breaking news that men are not women. It is a testament to the lunacy of our times, to the wild contagion of woke nonsense, that the truth of sex can be emblazoned across the papers as if it were some new and shocking discovery.

For me, that’s the most telling thing about the Supreme Court ruling: it confirms how close Britain got to the cliff edge of moral derangement before these five judges pulled us back. That we needed a court to remind us that sex is real and women don’t have penises tells us a bigger story about the march of unreason.

It reminds us how speedily mania can spread. For years now we’ve been ruled by politicians who chanted the slogan “Trans women are women” like a neo-religious mantra. And by leaders like Keir Starmer who insisted some women have penises. And by cultural influencers who damned women like JK Rowling as bigots simply for saying men are men.

Truth itself became tantamount to a crime under this woke tyranny. Dissent was demonised. Even stating scientific facts was a risky business. Women literally lost their jobs for the thoughtcrime of saying people with penises are male. In George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four, dissenters are compelled upon pain of torture to say: “2+2=5”. In our world we were compelled upon pain of cancellation to say: “Men are women.”

And the consequences were dire. Rapists were put in women’s prisons in Scotland. Girls lost sporting medals to boys who identified as female. Women who dissented from the trans ideology were shamed online, threatened with violence, sacked. “The sleep of reason produces monsters,” said Goya. Our sleep of reason certainly did that. It brought forth the monster of post-scientific delirium and the ruthless censure of anyone who dared to question it.

We now know what happens when the powerful uncritically imbibe fashionable nonsense and the powerless are prevented from speaking out – we end up in a world where unreason rules and it takes judges to jolt us back to reality. That’s the lesson here: no good ever comes from conformism or censorship. As the “TERFs” say: “Let women speak.” If we’d done that sooner, we might not be in this mess.

Here in Australia Kirralie Smith of Binary said this in part about the UK decision:

It is the only sane and reasonable position.

It is the only position backed by evidence and reality.

Human sex is determined before birth and cannot be changed. Anyone who wishes to identify as something else can do so, but they cannot impose their deception onto others.

Here in Australia, we are still suffering under the weight of laws that should be relegated to the realm of nightmarish fairytales.

In Australia, men who claim to *feel* like women (how is that even possible?), have more legal protections than women.

We can take heart that in the USA and now the UK, laws have been reset to reflect reality and protect women on the basis of sex.

We still have a long way to go in Australia, but if we keep speaking the truth and holding our leaders accountable, it’s only a matter of time before we turn it around here too. https://www.binary.org.au/uk-supreme-court-rules-that-reality-was-right-all-along

Australia

Just recently an Australian judge made an important decision about a 12-year-old boy and the matter of transitioning. Binary also covered this story. Kirralie writes:

A father gains custody of the child, prohibiting the mother from placing the child on harmful drugs. Justice Andrew Strum has ruled that a 12 year old child is too young to give consent and understand the harmful consequences of taking puberty blockers. He has granted full custody to the father of the child to stop the mother proceeding down this harmful and experimental pathway.

In handing down his judgment, Justice Strum sided with the father who did not wish to “pigeonhole” his child, and decided “all options” in the child’s life should be open.

“This is a case about a child, and a relatively young one at that; not one about the cause of transgender people,” Justice Strum wrote. “As this child grows, develops and matures, and explores and experiences life, the child might, with the related benefits of the passage of time and the acquisition of balanced understanding, come to identify as a transgender female and might elect to undergo some form of medical treatment, to affirm and/or align with that identity. But, similarly, with those benefits, the child might not do so, and for a variety of reasons.

“At this stage in the child’s life, all options should be left open, without any unacceptable risk of harm to the child.” https://www.binary.org.au/australian-judge-rules-against-puberty-blockers

Lyle Shelton said this about the decision:

Family First lead Senate candidate for NSW, Lyle Shelton, said Justice Strum’s decision appeared to contravene LGBTIQA+ activist-inspired “anti-conversion therapy” laws which come with jail time in some states for anyone, even parents, who prevents a child going to a gender clinic.

Mr Shelton said if Family First Senators held the balance of power after the May 3 election they would immediately introduce legislation to de-fund Australia’s child gender clinics, establish a Royal Commission into child gender medicine and create a compensation fund for victims like Mel Jefferies who now bitterly reject their gender transitions.

Mr Shelton said clinicians like the anonymous paediatrician whose “expert evidence” Justice Strum ruled was “misleading” should be banned from practice. https://www.familyfirstparty.org.au/strum_ruling_must_be_the_end_of_the_road_for_child_gender_clinics_says_family_first

Yes that was a very big win indeed, but much more needs to be done. And there are various ways that we all can get involved. In my previous piece I mentioned an online petition you can sign here in Australia: https://www.womensforumaustralia.org/XX

I still urge you to sign and share that one, but there is another one as well that we can run with: https://citizengo.org/en-au/node/15208

Here is some of what this petition has to say:

Enough Is Enough. We Demand Action—NOW.

Sign this petition to demand that Prime Minister Albanese and Opposition Leader Peter Dutton commit to these six actions:

-Recognise Only Two Genders in Law and Policy

Demand a clear commitment to biological truth—male and female only—in all laws, policies, and public communication.

-Protect Women’s Rights and Spaces

Preserve women-only shelters, prisons, bathrooms, and sports teams—no biological males, no exceptions.

-End Gender Ideology in Government Policy

Eliminate all language and regulation replacing “sex” with “gender identity.” Return to science-based policy.

-Reverse Existing Gender Ideology Policies

Audit and repeal gender radicalism embedded in federal and state law, bureaucracy, and funding streams.

-Defend Fairness in Women’s Sports

Guarantee that only biological women compete in women’s sports—restoring fairness, competition, and opportunity.

-Stand Against the Radical Gender Movement

Publicly reject gender ideology in schools, government, media, and taxpayer-funded programs.

Why This Matters

-Biological Truth Is Under Attack Radical activists are rewriting reality—replacing fact with fiction to gain power.

-Women’s Safety and Privacy Are at Risk Biological males are entering female-only spaces. This is dangerous. This is unjust.

-Women’s Sports Are Being Stolen Girls train for years, only to lose to men. It’s not fair. It’s not equal. And it must stop.

-Speech Is Being Criminalised If you say “a man can’t be a woman,” you risk being censored or fired. This is tyranny.

-Children Are Being Indoctrinated and Mutilated Our kids are being fed lies and encouraged to take life-altering drugs and surgeries. Parents are sidelined. This is abuse.

-Taxpayers Are Funding the Madness Your money is paying for gender programs that undermine your values and threaten your family.

-Our Leaders Are Failing Us Dutton’s silence is complicity. Albanese says one thing and enables the opposite. We must force them to choose.

This Is About More Than Gender

It’s about truth vs. lies, order vs. chaos, freedom vs. forced ideology.

If we don’t draw a line now, we will lose our right to speak truth, protect our daughters, and live in reality.

So please read both, sign, and share both petitions. We are starting to get some much-needed wins on the board, and if we all do our bit, along with praying more (and that includes praying for the May 3 Australian Federal Election), we can see some more wins. Our women, children, and culture all need more victories along these lines.
