A Few More Nails in the West’s Coffin

If aliens came to earth and surveyed the scene in the contemporary Western world, they would have to ask themselves, “Why is the West so intent on destroying itself?” Good question. The evidence for this self-immolation is everywhere to be found, but the reasons for it are harder to come by.

Alexander Solzhenitsyn offered a suggestion some decades ago which is most likely the correct one: “It is because we have forgotten God – that is why all this is happening to us”. The secular left hegemony over so much of the West accounts for a good part of our woes.

And every day the headlines confirm this. Indeed, as one commentator put it, “History is little more than the story of man’s sin, and the daily newspaper a running commentary on it.” And the press has just offered up a few more prime examples of this.

Consider this headline, “Transsexual spared jail for own safety”. That in itself raises a number of issues and concerns, but it gets worse as the article elaborates: “A transsexual who downloaded child pornography has walked free from a UK court because a judge said she would not be safe in prison, reports say.”

It continues, “Laura Voyce, 20, who used to be called Luke, was convicted of 14 counts of downloading indecent images of children. Some of the images on her laptop were graded at the second most sickening level of abuse. Voyce, who is biologically still a man but legally a woman, was sentenced at Manchester Crown Court to a nine-month jail term suspended for 12 months.”

There is plenty in this story to get bent out of shape about. But what really enrages me is how our wishy-washy judiciary is continuously showing more concern for the welfare of criminals than the rights of crime victims. They are happy to let the criminals go scot free while the victims bear the unending suffering.

And in this case the victims are as tragic as they come: innocent little children who are sexually and physically abused so sicko perverts like this guy/girl/it can get their cheap thrills. This irresponsible judge was more worried about this trannie pervert than about the wellbeing of children who are being horribly abused.

Indeed, this sham judge has simply sent a green light to every would-be child porn addict: just claim to be a transsexual and you will escape prosecution. Watch all the degrading child porn you like, because our judges are more concerned about your “rights” than they are about the rights of our most vulnerable and defenceless children.

No wonder we are going down the tubes so fast with clowns like this calling the shots. Of course all these secular left judges are products of our secular left and Marxist law schools, which have long ago lost the plot concerning criminal justice.

Indeed, today criminals are not getting true justice, but a free pass. It is the victims who are getting injustice time and time again. The rule of law is being undermined by activists and social engineers who want to remake society in their own image.

And we ordinary law-abiding citizens are the ones who are paying the price for all this. Chesterton said it well: “A society is in decay, final or transitional, when common sense really becomes uncommon.” Given that our legal eagles seem to have long ago lost any remaining sense, it appears that the decay is terminal.

But wait, there’s more. In Montana the school system wants to extend sex education all the way down to kindergarten. According to FoxNews, the proposal has sparked outrage amongst concerned parents. Here is how the story is introduced:

“According to the 62-page draft proposal, beginning in kindergarten, school nurses will teach students proper terms such as ‘nipple, breast, penis, scrotum and uterus.’ Once they are promoted to first grade, children will learn that sexual relations could happen between two men or two women. By the time students are 10 years old, instruction will include the various ways people can have intercourse, be it vaginally, orally or through ‘anal penetration,’ according to the proposal.”

As is often the case, those pushing such radical moves insist that such sex-ed programs for the youngest of children are needed to prevent STDs and pregnancy. “Melanie Reynolds, a district health officer, defended the proposed curriculum, saying early education and intervention was needed to prevent HIV infection or other sexually transmitted diseases.”

Of interest is the fact that staff from Planned Parenthood were involved in the committee that developed the document. These guys are always pushing this kind of rubbish. But their rationale for all this has just taken a big blow by a major new study.

As one source puts it, “The Center for Disease Control and Prevention released a new study last month showing that most teens are virgins – which American Life League (ALL) has said contradicts propaganda disseminated by sex-education giant Planned Parenthood.”

Judie Brown, president of ALL said, “This study has huge significance for our nation’s public and even private schools – many of whom have been regurgitating Planned Parenthood’s dangerously inaccurate sex-education curriculum”. Quite right.

Indeed, we know that comprehensive sex ed courses in fact increase sexual activity amongst young people, not decrease it. So the whole agenda of groups like PP is as misguided as it is counterproductive. But they will keep pushing to have ever-expanding courses forced upon ever-younger children.

These are just two more scenes from the culture wars, and two more examples of how the Western world is daily being assaulted by secular leftists who do not seem to mind if they pull the whole structure down in their bid to recreate it into their own diabolical image.

All the more reason why we need to redouble our efforts to protect our children, our families, our culture, and our faith from these nihilistic social engineers.

  1. Hi Bill,

Your article highlighted that so many of the left’s cherished rights rest upon the abuse of children. Torturing and murdering children in the womb is OK because it’s a woman’s right. Bringing up children embedded in immorality is OK because it’s a sodomite’s right. Exposing children to molestation is OK because it’s a pervert’s right to be safe. And teaching children totally inappropriate and sickening practices in our schools is OK because it’s supposedly the child’s right to know this rubbish.

    Mansel Rogerson

  2. Well, Bill, you’re quite right, and as the mother of a twelve year-old boy, this sickens and worries me greatly. I wonder if the values of the secular west (lack of) have paved the way for the sickening levels of child abuse by Catholic clergy also? It seems to me that you need to be transsexual or a Catholic clergyman to get away with these disgusting crimes. I’d be interested to hear why you think the Catholic Church has let down the children so heinously, and why they seem intent on giving Christians a bad name.

  3. Thanks Barbara

A few words if I may. Although I am a Protestant who significantly differs with Catholics in many theological areas, I have made a point of not allowing this site to degenerate into sectarian bashing. Indeed, Protestants have not been free of child abuse, so it cuts across all denominations. Also, the majority of Catholic priests do not abuse the children under their care. Finally, it should be pointed out that most of this abuse is not just generic child abuse, but homosexual child abuse, which is another whole issue.

The discussion about a celibate clergy is of course another big debate, one which I will not here enter into. Protestants obviously differ with Catholics on this issue as well.

  4. Bill,

Thanks again for letting me cross post your most excellent article. This what the three toxic stews of Political correctness, diversity and mutliculturalism have done to us, and the west. Let’s ruin the innocence of our children even earlier. I am sure Obama’s czar of ‘safe’ education is quite all right with allowing these perversions at such a young age.

  5. Bill

I find myself in far greater agreement with conservative Catholics than I do with liberal protestants or the Protestant churches that are preoccupied with an emotion based faith.

But you’re quite right with this article. The injustices committed by such activist judges as this one are utterly sickening. I really couldn’t care less what happens to sickos that download child pornography.

  6. Excellent article Bill, and many valid points. I especially agree with you on the above comment.

  7. Parents, it’s time to remove our children from the Philistine environment of the school system.

Home-based Biblically-founded education seems to be the way to go.

  8. Hi Bill,

Sorry, I shouldn’t have written that. I just get SO cross about child abuse that I tend to just REACT and not THINK. It’s the way the Catholic Church has covered its tracks that I find upsetting and so unChristian. I knew of a Catholic family whose little girl was abused by their parish priest and when they found out many years later they way they dealt with it was to turn their backs on Jesus and live as atheists. We just can’t afford that sort of tragic waste, that’s my point. We should all be showing the way. We’d expect that sort of behaviour from the Godless left, from the gays and atheists who are hell-bent on destroying society for their own sick and criminal ends, but not from anyone who has embraced Jesus.

    With warmest wishes.

  9. Thanks Barbara

Yes I did not mean to suggest that child abuse is not horrendous. It is especially despicable when carried out by those who name the name of Christ. All the churches need to lift their game here.

  10. Bill,

As a post-operative woman who has dealt with her transexuality and moved on with her life I am also outraged at this ruling. I have two adult daughters of my own and hope to have grandchildren some day and this is greatly troubling.

There is Nothing, repeat Nothing about this condition (transexuality) that trumps the safety and well-being of our children and this person needs to be incarcerated for the full-extent of her sentence.

    Sara …

  11. Thanks Sara

I am not with you on the issue of transexualism, nor on posting without a full name, as my rules require! But I am with you in your concern about the wellbeing of our children.

    Bill Muehlenberg, CultureWatch

  12. Yes Bill you got that one right.

The cave in of the West is despicable, deplorable and inexcusable, and has demonstrated the truth of the classical comment “Those who will not learn from history are condemned to repeat its mistakes.”

And – obviously – it has all happened because we have forgotten the True God Who Created the Heavens and the Earth, the Sea and the Dry Land and all that in them is, or almost as inexcusably, become embarrassed to claim His Name / Proclaim His Fame and Glory. As a direct result we are covered in our own ignominy, and display our shame, folly, duplicity and sin for all to see only too clearly.

  13. With the Bible saying that evil will be seen as good and good seen as evil…I am not surprised at all by this Judge’s decision for this transsexual. Having worked in our judicial system and knowing what kind of moral characters some of our barristers and solicitors and judges have, I can see how our judicial system is in moral decline. I am not surprised but I am sickened by it. I am outraged at the Planned Parenthood group who think its their right to teach our young children about what is correct sexual practices. What happened to parents teaching their children? It seems that they totally disregard what parents want to teach their children and steal the innocence of the children as young as 4 years old. Planned Parenthood group need to go and take their proposal and put it in the “round” file because this is the biggest load of garbage of I heard of. This is not teaching children about “safe” sex practices, this is just opening children up to a world of pornography so then they are desensitised to abominable and vile sexual practices.

  14. Bill,

I believe sex education in schools is just one more way to destroy our Judeo-Christian ethical base.

Readers will probably know that Margaret Sanger, early advocate for planned parenthood, was an avid eugenist.
    Just some of her remarks:

    On blacks, immigrants and indigents:
“…human weeds,’ ‘reckless breeders,’ ‘spawning… human beings who never should have been born.” Margaret Sanger, Pivot of Civilization, referring to immigrants and poor people

    On sterilization & racial purification:
Sanger believed that, for the purpose of racial “purification,” couples should be rewarded who chose sterilization. Birth Control in America, The Career of Margaret Sanger, by David Kennedy, p. 117, quoting a 1923 Sanger speech.

On the right of married couples to bear children:
Couples should be required to submit applications to have a child, she wrote in her “Plan for Peace.” Birth Control Review, April 1932

On the purpose of birth control:
The purpose in promoting birth control was “to create a race of thoroughbreds,” she wrote in the Birth Control Review, Nov. 1921 (p. 2)

On the rights of the handicapped and mentally ill, and racial minorities:
“More children from the fit, less from the unfit — that is the chief aim of birth control.” Birth Control Review, May 1919, p. 12

Shades of Nazism and Aryan supremacy!

I believe progressives pose far more of a threat to our Judeo-Christian tradition than even Islam.

  15. Bill,

    Excellent article …

Do you have references for …

1 – “The Center for Disease Control and Prevention released a new study last month showing that most teens are virgins – which American Life League (ALL) has said contradicts propaganda disseminated by sex-education giant Planned Parenthood.”

2 – “Indeed, we know that comprehensive sex ed courses in fact increase sexual activity amongst young people, not decrease it.”

As I would like to refer to those points when discussing this issue outside of this forum.

  16. I do really believe that more needs to be done to inform the modern atheistic media/judicial/political world that denying the existence of God is just nonsensical. Even Antony Flew finally saw that. The science and mathematics that is ignored by atheists is astounding. If God didn’t create the universe and therefore all that is in it, it would not exist, since it is utterly impossible that chance could have done it. See the book: ANSWERING THE NEW ATHEISM by Drs Scott Hahn and Benjamin Wiker. This does a great job of demolishing those who claim that it all happened by blind chance.
    Jerome Gonzalez

  17. I’m with John Angelico all the way. If you think it is out of your ability to homeschool, think of the many ordinary parents who are doing it very successfully. I homeschool and in the homeschooling network (very supportive) to which I belong, the kids are outstanding, well ahead of other schooled kids in the area and so well-behaved and well-adjusted. God can supply your needs and give you the ability you need to give your kids this heads up in life. Just a bit of a plug. (Pass it on).
Re: the appalling decision of the judge favoring this pedophile and putting other young lives at risk in the process, this is a very typical example of judicial activism. The Labor governments of Australia have placed a number of ‘their people’ in positions of power in courts around the country (this is particularly true in Victoria). And this is the reason. Watch for more of it as the satanic network begin to come out more and more boldly and show their true colours as they realize that they have reached the crucial point of numbers and what they feel is a lack of risk of backlash from the community.
We are going to need more and more of the Holy Spirit’s power in our lives for guidance, strength and strategies in the days ahead!

  18. The unimaginable weight of all this filth was felt by Jesus in Gethsemane. He bore the burden of the whole foul lot,so forgiveness is available and possible for even the most depraved of sinners. For that to happen, they need to hear the truth and be called to repentance. To have a voice that can be heard we each need to fast, pray and live the Gospel as authentically as we can, recognising our own fallen human nature and total dependence on God’s grace. I think its important to pray for ourselves that we may have a love like that of Jesus for all suffering humanity. By love I mean an active, sacrificial desire for the salvation of every human being. The cost for each of us is not the same, but God’s Holy Spirit gives all that we need for whatever we’re called to do so long as we’re living as Jesus wants. Imagine the eternal loss of our most beloved family members. The anguish such a thought causes is unbearable! What then must be the loss of untold numbers of souls to the Heart of Jesus who is Love and who loves every poor sinner as much as He loves each one of us. If we love our Saviour, we need to be on fire for the salvation of all people and for the coming of His Kingdom. So lets get on with it friends its our turn for the baton.

As things continue to go down the gurgler, home schooling must seriously be considered as an option for many concerned parents.

    Bill Muehlenberg, CultureWatch

  20. Thanks Anna

Yes the ultimate answer to all this is the Cross. In the light of it, we must pray like mad but also work like mad to be salt and light in a dying and decaying culture. It is really the Church of Jesus Christ that can ultimately turn around this new barbarism, just as it did centuries ago with the old barbarism.

    Bill Muehlenberg, CultureWatch

  21. Thank you for bringing this monstrous injustice to our attention, Bill. It is interesting to note that those supporting the presentation of grossly offensive sexual conduct to vulnerable, impressionable children in the guise of ‘sex education’ do so on the pretext of ‘preventing pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases – which were not a problem to previous generations which protected the innocence of children and guarded them from contact with questionable adults.
    Karen Bos

  22. This is horrifying, yet not surprising. thanks also Bill for your reasonable response to the comments on catholic priests.

  24. Dear Bill, Thanks for the excellent article. I was always under the impression that you were a Catholic because as you say your articles are invariably devoid of sectarianism. The Holy Spirit blows where it will and it is certainly blowing in your direction because Catholics [including catholic priests] can’t always be relied on to speak the truth as you do.

Barbara, I think the few Catholic priests who have abused children forgot why they became priests which is to SERVE the people not exercise power over them which is what they are doing when they abuse children because they often destroy the faith of the whole family. I might be wrong because I haven’t read the reasons yet but I am wondering if that is why the Vatican has said ordaining women is as grave a sin as child abuse. Can it be because Catholic women who still want ordination after the Holy Father has specifically said the Church has no power to ordain women are just as power hungry, rebellious and disobedient as paedophile priests? Catholics believe that the Papacy is God’s precious gift to Christ’s Church so when the Pope speaks infallibly he is meant to be obeyed. To Catholics disobeying the Pope is like disobeying Christ because we believe he is Christ’s Vicar on earth.

    Patricia Halligan

  25. Hi Bill
Thanks for defending the majority of Catholic priests, who are not molesters. There are child molesters in many professions, including teaching, children’s organizations and and as you stated Protestant churches also. The argument, some people float, that celibacy plays a part, is nonsense. There are predators among married men. Any abuse by Catholic clergy is highlighted much more, with a lot of the criticism coming from those we call lapsed Catholics. In the book “Goodbye Good Men” by Michael Rose, research showed that homosexual groups deliberately targeted some seminaries, in an effort to undermine them.
    Frank Bellet, Petrie Qld

  26. Dear Patricia Halligan, a number of points:

    Firstly, you said:
“…the Vatican has said ordaining women is as grave a sin as child abuse.”

The Vatican has never said this, nor will it ever.

Monsignor Charles Scicluna, an official in the Vatican’s doctrinal department, said there was no attempt to make women’s ordination and pedophilia comparable crimes under canon (Church) law.

“This is not putting everything into one basket,” Scicluna, the Vatican’s internal prosecutor for handling sexual abuse cases, told Reuters in a telephone interview.

“They are in the same document but this does not put them on the same level or assign them the same gravity,” said Scicluna, who helped formulate the revisions.

The document updated norms concerning “three sets of canonical crimes that are distinct,” and whose jurisdiction is reserved to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, the Vatican’s doctrinal department, he said.

While sexual abuse is a “crime against morality,” the attempt to ordain a woman is a “crime against a sacrament,” he said, referring to Holy Orders (the priesthood). The document also updated crimes against the faith such as heresy.

“This should not be interpreted as considering all these crimes to be equal,” he said. “They are crimes of a different nature”.

(Of course, the vast majority of secular media outlets, will continue to promote this lie, or perhaps I should say, misunderstanding)

    Secondly, you said:
“Can it be because Catholic women who still want ordination after the Holy Father has specifically said the Church has no power to ordain women are just as power hungry, rebellious and disobedient as paedophile priests?”

You a quite right to say that the Church has not been given any power or authority to ordain women as priests, but it is (to put it mildly) erroneous to say that women who desire to be priests “…are just as power hungry, rebellious and disobedient as paedophile priests?” Women who have such desires, in most cases, simply want to serve the Lord. That longing to to so, is in no way comparable to pedophile priests, who, as you pointed out, don’t “serve the people” but rather “exercise power over them”.

In regard to your comments on the papacy and the Pope, perhaps you know this, but I’ll point it out for those who don’t know. ONLY when the Pope is speaking on matters of faith and morals the Holy Spirit enlightens his mind so as to prevent him from making a mistake. This dogma, however, does not state that the Pope cannot sin in his own personal life or that he is necessarily free of error, even when speaking in his official capacity, outside the specific contexts in which the dogma applies. The Wikipedia page on this topic is actually pretty good:

  27. Just to add to the comments made by Frank Bellet.

In the light of these scandals, there have been claims that there is a connection between the celibacy of the Catholic priesthood, and paedophilic tendencies. There is absolutely no connection between the state of celibacy and those that commit sexual abuse. Catholic priests are not more likely to be paedophiles than other groups of men.

Paedophilia is a particular type of compulsive sexual disorder in which an adult abuses pre-pubescent children. The vast majority of clerical sex-abuse scandals do not involve paedophilia, but rather ephebophilia – homosexual attraction to adolescent boys. Dr. Thomas Plante, a psychologist at Santa Clara University, found that “80-90% of all priests who in fact abuse minors have sexually engaged with adolescent boys, not prepubescent children.”
Source: ‘Sexual Abuse in Social Context: Catholic Clergy and Other Professionals’
    http://www.catholicleague.org/research/abuse_in_social_context.htm

Celibacy has no causal relation to disordered sexual desires, such as paedophilia or ephebophilia. Married men are just as likely as celibate priests to sexually abuse children. In fact psychiatrist Manfred Luetz states: “The father of a family is 36 times more likely to abuse than a celibate priest.”
Source: ‘Does Celibacy contribute to Child Sex Abuse?’
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/8604800.stm

Neither being Catholic nor being celibate predisposes someone to develop paedophilia or ephebophilia. There are many non-Catholic and/or married men who suffer the same condition.

Statistics about the prevalence of sexual abuse show that perpetrators can be broken down into:
    Family friends and acquaintances: 28%
    Relatives (uncles and cousins): 18%
    Stepfathers: 12 %
    Male siblings: 10%
    Biological fathers: 10%
Boyfriends of the child’s mother: 9%
    Grandfathers and stepgrandfathers: 7%
    Strangers: 4%

  28. I am sure we all know homosexuals, lesbians, bisexuals, transsexuals, transgenders who are not paedophiles or drug addicts. They are just like us, “good,” “respectable,” and “kind” people, who take the dog for a walk, do the shopping and just want to be left alone to get on with their lives. But we forget that the gays are being used, maybe even without their knowledge, by political puppet masters, like Angela Mason, in the UK, who work quietly and anonymously behind the scenes,

Just by googling “Lukac,” “Hungary,” and “sex education” one begins to understand the source of all this.

  29. Damien, there was no emotion for me when I accepted Jesus into my heart at a pentecostal church; just a shrug of the shoulder as a last attempt to find truth – but I have served the lord for the last 20 years and have relationship with him daily; raised in a catholic boarding school all my life I missed out on the truth till I was 40 and have to ask the Catholics where they got it wrong.
Sexual education should come from parents not teachers; the state has far too much influence in matters that are private and our judicial system is a joke and subjective.
