More Clarity on the West’s Civilisational Battle with Islam

‘Know your enemy’ is the first rule of battle:

Back in 1993 political scientist Samuel Huntington penned an influential article for Foreign Affairs magazine titled “The Clash of Civilizations?” It was turned into a book in 1996: The Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of World Order.

In both, he argued that in a post-Cold War era, it would be culture more than ideology that would determine future conflicts. And the chief culture to pose a threat to the West would be Islam. Instead of countries like the former Soviet Union posing a threat, it would be a culture dominated by Islam.

This idea that the West is in a life-or-death civilisational battle with Islam certainly seems to have been correct. Every day we read about how Islamists are wreaking havoc around the world, especially in the West. Every day we see sharia law and the universal caliphate expanding, with Western freedoms and democracies shrinking.

And every day we read about woke wonders in the West who are aiding and abetting all this. Simply think of Mamdani in NYC, or Khan in London, or Sanchez in Spain, or Macron in France, or Albanese in Australia – to name but a few. It really is a battle of civilisations. Either the Islamic worldview will prevail, or the Judeo-Christian one will triumph.

As in any war, an awareness of who is the enemy is essential. Knowing the strategies, aims and goals of the enemy is vital. In this case, knowing all we can about the history, beliefs and values of Islam is imperative. Those who are in the know about such things have been warning about this for decades now.

I have done my bit, with this being the 718^th article on Islam, with another 365 pieces on terrorism. So we must know who is opposing us and why. And we must speak out against it.
