The current US President has consistently revealed his animus towards Christianity, while at the same time coddling up to the clear enemy of democracy and freedom: Islam. As I have documented often on this site, he seems to take as many pro-Islamic stances as he does anti-Christian ones.
His latest example of pro-Muslim fawning is yet another step in turning America into a client state of Islam. It is an egregious act of dhimiitude, and the sooner we get this man out of the White House the better. He has just sent out his wishes to Muslims for the start of Ramadan.
Now that in itself might be OK. But it is what he said that is so very disturbing here. He seems quite intent on engaging in radical historical revisionism to placate his Muslim buddies. The trouble is, while he gushes over how wonderful Islam is, he never seems to be able to say anything good about Christianity.
Indeed, had he said anything even remotely similar about Christianity all his lefty buddies would be spitting chips. But as long as he dishes out all the syrupy praise to Islam, his side is quiet. What he said was really rather remarkable, and should be of genuine concern to all those who value liberty, pluralism, democracy, and the rule of law – all things mostly missing in Muslim majority nations.
Here is what he said:
“On behalf of the American people, Michelle and I extend our warmest wishes to Muslim Americans and Muslims around the world at the start of Ramadan. For Muslims, Ramadan is a time of fasting, prayer, and reflection; a time of joy and celebration. It’s a time to cherish family, friends, and neighbors, and to help those in need.
“This year, Ramadan holds special meaning for those citizens in the Middle East and North Africa who are courageously achieving democracy and self-determination and for those who are still struggling to achieve their universal rights.
“The United States continues to stand with those who seek the chance to decide their own destiny, to live free from fear and violence, and to practice their faith freely. Here in the United States, Ramadan reminds us that Islam is part of the fabric of our Nation, and that—from public service to business, from healthcare and science to the arts—Muslim Americans help strengthen our country and enrich our lives.
“Even as Ramadan holds profound meaning for the world’s 1.5 billion Muslims, it is also a reminder to people of all faiths of our common humanity and the commitment to justice, equality, and compassion shared by all great faiths. In that spirit, I wish Muslims across America and around the world a blessed month, and I look forward to again hosting an iftar dinner here at the White House. Ramadan Kareem.”
While this entire mealy-mouthed speech could be critically examined, it is the line in the third paragraph which is the most outrageous: “Islam is part of the fabric of our Nation”. What?! What did he just say? Run that by me again Barack Hussein. The fabric of our nation?
Just what are you suggesting here Mr President? You mean to tell me there were Muslims on the Mayflower? Did Columbus come here with the aid of Muslims? Were there mosques to be found all over the original 13 Colonies? Was the Koran held up time and time again by our Founding Fathers?
Were there lots of Muslims fighting side by side with the early Americans in the Revolutionary War? Were prayers to Allah heard at the Continental Congresses? Did the Tea party activists stop their activities to observe Ramadan? Did the early settlers there seek to convert the local Indian populations to Islam?
Did the authors of the Federalist Papers draw heavily upon the Koran for inspiration? Did George Washington regularly kneel and pray to Allah? Were the US Constitution and other key documents cognisant of Allah and Muhammad and the important role they played? Did Jefferson or Adams or Madison consider having Muslim running mates?
Were the early religious services, even in Washington, full of Americans facing toward Mecca as they thanked their creator and provider? Were such things as the Missouri Compromise or the Monroe Doctrine steeped in Islamic jurisprudence?
Did those fighting against the Brits do so in order to establish sharia law in the new land? Did Lincoln agonise with Allah as he sought to rule the country and prevent war from breaking out? Were northerners and southerners fighting each other according to concerns about how to interpret the Koran?
Did US currency have the words, “In Allah We Trust” featured on them? Were there plenty of Muslims fighting in the Spanish-American War? Or in WWII? Were there many brave Muslims dying in Okinawa or at the Battle of the Bulge?
How many more questions need I pose before you start to get the drift? America is and always has been a nation overwhelmingly based on the Judeo-Christian worldview. It began with the express purpose of forming a Christian society – Light on a Hill. It was founded by Christians, led by Christians, and dominated by Christians.
None of that can be said about Islam. Islam is not and has never been “part of the fabric of our Nation”. The fact that the President has to rewrite history here shows once again how utterly unqualified he is to be running this nation. The fact that a very small minority of Muslims now happen to reside in America does not mean that Islam is an integral part of the nation.
Only those who wish to make America subservient to its enemies could even suggest such a ridiculous thing. But as we have seen before, Obama is quite happy to turn the country into a compliant dhimmi. We expect Muslim activists to be working toward this end. But when the POTUS starts doing it, then we know we are in big trouble.
Postscript. Obama clearly does not know his own history (but then again, given his still quite uncertain citizenship status, maybe that is not surprising). Or worse yet, he does know it, but he is seeking to deliberately twist and distort it. But for those who want some actual history here, looking at the very real Christian connection, there are many fine volumes to go to.
The three-volume set by Peter Marshall and David Manuel is one such resource. Back in 1977 they wrote The Light and the Glory (Revell). A revised and expanded edition of this book appeared in 2009. It covers the period of 1492-1793. A second volume by these authors appeared in 1986, and a third appeared in 1999, which were re-released in 2009. From Sea to Shining Sea covers the period of 1787-1837, while Sounding Forth the Trumpet examines 1837-1860. This trilogy (totalling 1550 pages), is a terrific set of books and well worth having.

Plenty of other volumes come to mind, but let me mention just one more: Thomas Kidd’s God of Liberty: A Religious History of the American Revolution (Basic Books, 2010) is a superb look at how big a role religion (that is, Christianity – not Islam) played in the founding of America.

As has often been said the bigger the lie the bigger the deception. A clearer denial and revisionism of American Christian roots and culture could hardly have been made.
In effect these words must be a studied insult to American Christians because he has made a stand for the Moslem faith ON THEIR BEHALF.
In the words of the fine old baptist preacher John Bunyan, Obama would be the archetypical Mr “Face-both-ways. But he cannot have it both ways for the Moslem faith and Christianity are mutually exclusive and incompatible are they not? Just as Elijah challenged the false prophets of Baal and the gullible Israelites who heeded them with the challenge, “Choose you this day whom you will serve”, so likewise Jesus re-states the divide equally clearly: “He who is not with me is against me”. A person either belongs to the one, that is the Kingdom og God and of Christ, or of Satan.
Obama does not even bother with a pretence of neutrality but has declared his position as ‘against’ Christ and Christianity.

After having just read the book “Secret Believers” by Brother Andrew and Al Janssen, his speech about the “Middle East…courageously achieving democracy” and seeking to establish a society in which citizens can “live free from fear and violence, and to practice their faith freely” seems all the more ridiculous, not to mention naive.

What world does Obama live in? I have read three books in as many weeks that speak of the DAILY, torture, killing and massacre of Christians by Muslims in Kenya, Nigeria and Uganda.
Obama should give them all an apology for such callous and heartless words.
