The world laughs at the idea of God and laughs at the idea of Satan. Regrettably many Christians are not all that different. Many reject the God of the Bible for one they have made in their own image and likeness. And many do not even believe in or take seriously the concept of a personal malevolent being called Satan.
That is why far too many people who claim to be Christians are utterly useless in these dark times. They scoff at those involved in the culture wars and ridicule those who have been called to be a watchman on the wall. And like their forebears of old, they reject true prophetic voices and instead rally to false ones.
In this site I have offered many hundreds of examples of the war we are in, but so many believers just snooze right through it. They do not want to know about any of this, and they really do not care. As long as they can live their selfish life – their best life now – that is all they really want.
They do not give a rip about the war against faith, family and freedom. They do not care that Satan is alive and well, targeting our children, our schools, our homes, our societies and our churches. They don’t even want to know – that would interfere with their life of ease, of greed, of comfort, of self. They will one day give an account for all this – I would not want to be in their footsteps.
And then there are all the church leaders and Christian intellectuals and public figures who try oh so hard to be cool, trendy, well-liked and accepted. They will denounce the watchmen while blinking at or even condoning what the watchmen are warning about.
In their incessant desire to please men and be spoken well of, they will denounce the prophetic voices, smear the watchmen on the wall, and harass the culture warriors. They effectively side with the enemy. They too will one day stand before their judge and give an account.
But for those who care, for those who take their faith seriously, and for those who would rather be right with God than right with man, they will continue to listen to the trumpet being blown. They will take seriously the warnings being given. They will stand up and be counted when it is crunch time.
I salute such saints and I will continue to sound the alarm, knowing that such people still exist. CultureWatch is not just about Christian commentary on the issues of the day, but it is the voice of the watchman, blowing the shofar, seeking to rouse a sleeping and comatose body of believers.
Let me offer more dire warnings about the war we are in. Satan hates true Christians, he hates children, he hates the image of God as male and female, and so on. These are all areas coming under constant assault by the evil one. So let me offer four more frightening examples of all this. They all happen to come from America, but what happens there soon enough comes to Australia. So to be forewarned is to be forearmed.
Let me begin with this shocking June 3 headline: “Elementary School Calls Police on 7-Y-O Boy for Sharing Bible Verses”. The story begins:
A California public school called a Los Angeles Deputy Sheriff in Palmdale to reprimand a 7-year-old student for handing out Bible verses, warning that such actions are “offensive.” Santa Monica Observer reported that the student, who attends Desert Rose Elementary, had been handing out Bible verses given to him in the form of short notes from his mother, Christina Zavala, alongside his lunch. The young boy distributed the Bible verses while standing on a public sidewalk outside the school. He also shared other verses and short Bible stories among his friends, until a first-grade teacher saw one of those notes. The teacher reportedly publicly rebuked the boy, and then called his parents, warning them that such actions go against the separation of church and state.
Christian students of all ages are coming under attack by hate-filled misotheists. This story from last year is a shocker: “Professor fails student because she won’t denounce Christian faith and morality”. It opens this way:
A sixteen-year-old, dual-enrolled student, “G.L.,” is the subject of religious intolerance by humanities professor Lance “L.J.” Russum at Polk State College in Lakeland, Florida. Liberty Counsel has asked the dean to investigate the professor and his curriculum. G.L. and her parents reached out to Liberty Counsel when Russum gave her four (4) straight zeros because she refused to conform to his personal worldviews of Marxism, Atheism, Feminism, and homosexuality. Professor Russum expressed blatant and pervasive anti-Christian bias throughout the class, such as the following essay question: “Why did Christianity, and its male gods, seek to silence these women [the nuns]?”
And the gender bender activists are zeroing in on our vulnerable children at the earliest ages:
Beginning in fall of 2017, all Washington state public schools will begin teaching kindergartners that gender is a “social construct” and there are “many ways to express gender” as part of its newly-approved “self-identity” curriculum. One of the “core” areas in Washington state’s new health education learning standards is sexual health, components of which will be introduced to children starting in kindergarten, including the idea of gender “self-identity” and the difference between “safe” and “unwanted touch.” The new standards require that kindergartners be taught to understand that “there are many ways to express gender.” Gender, as The Daily Caller’s Peter Hasson notes, is defined by the state’s health education glossary as “a social construct based on emotional, behavioral, and cultural characteristics attached to a person’s assigned biological sex.” Gender expression is defined by the state as “the way someone outwardly expresses their gender.”
Finally, consider this June 3 headline: “High school boy wins all-state honors in girls track and field”. The story begins:
High school girls in Alaska are crying foul after a male sprinter took home all-state honors in girls’ track and field. According to local reports, it was the first time in Alaskan history that a male athlete competed in the girls’ state championships…. Another runner, Peyton Young (who competed in a different event) took a similar position. “I don’t know what’s politically correct to say, but in my opinion your gender is what you’re born with,” she told the Alaska Dispatch News. “It’s the DNA. Genetically a guy has more muscle mass than a girl, and if he’s racing against a girl, he may have an advantage.” Alaska allows each school to decide whether to let boys compete in individual girls’ events. According to the Alaska Dispatch News, Wangyot’s district doesn’t even require boys to undergo hormone therapy before competing in girls’ events.
And this can become quite serious indeed. Consider the story of a man who pretends to be a woman who caused serious injury to a female competitor. The headline from 2014 reads: “Transgender ‘female’ MMA fighter gives female opponent concussion, broken eye socket”.
All this is a war on children, a war on sexuality, a war on biology, a war on morality, and above all, a war on Christianity. The only thing worse than this full-frontal assault on all that we hold near and dear is the massive amount of apathy and indifference found amongst way too many believers.
This quote, attributed to Dante, is quite appropriate here: “The hottest level in hell is reserved for those who remain neutral in a moral crisis.” Or as Ronald Reagan once put it, “History will record with the greatest astonishment that those who had the most to lose did the least to prevent its happening.”

Those with even a passing familiarity with the work of occultist and Neo-Pagan, Aleister Crowley will understand that there are indeed explicit associations between Satanism, the occult and certain expressions of what is now popularly known as “sexual diversity”.
This “diabolical connection”, I am certain, is not as widely known amongst advocates of gender-diverse culture as it might be, given that most Rainbow Politics protagonists approach their cause from materialist, neo-Marxist or neo-Liberal Utilitarian philosophical standpoints.

That Reagan quote is surely true and very scary. It is like all the people who say, ‘Let them have ssm as long as they don’t make it compulsory, we are more interested in what financial benefits parties offer us.’ And there are plenty of people who, if they don’t say it think it and act on it with their vote. That kind of selfish apathy surely deserves that hottest place in hell.

Then a column by the editor on how Jesus would disown the ACL over SAFE SCHOOLS! followed by Farah Tomazin’s piece on the parliamentary inquiry into assisted dying for the terminally ill. I for one will cease to buy it.
It seems the world is falling apart in many places. I agree with your post Bill and to add something that is not quite related by concerns me is reports out of The Philippines of the new President Elect who, during the election campaign, advocated for not just the police but members of the public to kill drug dealers. He even said he would pay people to do this. The predictable rise in street executions has now happened.
On this policy platform he has now been elected President.
Now, I am not for one moment arguing that drug dealers should remain unpunished and even some countries maintain that capital punishment is needed for these crimes. However it is the summary justice without the rule of law that is most concerning, Imagine such a policy being used against any group the state defines.
It may be that the situation in The Philippines has descended into near lawlessness to require such a response but that is news to me – and I am skeptical unless I am missing something.
I have tried to look into his broader policies but they are somewhat concerning in that he wants families to have a maximum of three children, legalization of divorce and distribution of contraceptives.
Not that they would have had a problem at all with a muslim child handing out Islamic tracts, right?

This describes ‘dilation and evacuation’ abortion (D&E), legal activity here in Tasmania.
When homosexual activists marched into the Hobart police station in the 1990s, with the media in tow, they were happy to risk 21 years in prison for “sexual intercourse against the order of nature”. Yet these same activists will not risk just one year in prison, under Tasmania’s Reproductive Health Act, to peacefully protest against the horrific murder of unborn children whom they claim are ‘gay’.

The act of sodomy is another signature of Satan on this movement. In the Gospels, for example, where it talks about ‘evil spirit’, it is literally ‘unclean spirit’. Sex is made unclean by excrement, and by using the place from which it comes as a substitute.
