France’s Fatal Folly

You gotta hand it to the French socialists. When they start implementing their agenda, they sure don’t mess around. Now they have decided to fully subsidise murder. Yep, all French taxpayers will be fully funding murder, whether they like it or not.

Today in France if you go out and buy a gun, travel somewhere and shoot someone, and incur any other expenses for doing it, the French government – with French tax dollars – will happily subsidise the whole thing. Amazing!

OK, not quite; but close. Here is what they are actually doing in France, which pretty much amounts to the same thing. One news report puts it this way. I offer here the entire report:

“France on Monday unveiled a package of reforms designed to increase access to abortion, including 100 percent reimbursement of medical costs by the state social security system. At present French women are only able to claim back between 70 and 80 percent of the costs, which average between 200 and 450 euros depending on whether the abortion is induced by medication taken at home or carried out by surgical procedure in a clinic.

“The change to full reimbursement was included in the 2013 social security budget unveiled on Monday. In a statement the government said the move was ‘necessary to ensure all women have equal access to abortion.’ The move follows a long campaign by pro-choice organisations and was a manifesto promise by Socialist President Francois Hollande ahead of his election victory in June.

“The government also announced that it would increase the amounts clinics are allowed to charge for carrying out abortions to bring them closer into line with their real costs and to facilitate better support for patients. The total cost of the measures was estimated at 31.7 million euros in the first year of application. A total of 225,000 abortions were carried out in France in 2010, the last year for which figures are available.

“As well as promising to ensure the costs of abortion are fully covered, Hollande’s election manifesto included a pledge to ensure terminations were available at every major hospital across the country. Abortion is available on request in France up to the 12th week of a pregnancy under legislation that was introduced in 1975 and enjoys widespread support across the political spectrum.”

Wow, I can just see the new ads on French TV: “Wanna kill your own babies but can’t afford it? No problems. We are here to help. Go right ahead and snuff out that young life, and we will reimburse you for the entire costs. It is our service to you.”

Mighty nice of them. Hopefully all the French taxpayers are fully into the culture of death, so they won’t mind their tax dollars subsidising murder. Imagine that: government sanctioned killing, even funded by the state – or taxpayer. France must be a paradise for all the pro-death secular humanists and socialists there.

Pity any Frenchies who may yet have a conscience, who don’t exactly believe that murdering the unborn is something they want to be paying for with their hard-earned tax dollars. But in the modern godless state, there seems to be no place for conscience or religious freedom.

If the state says baby-killing is a neat idea, you will comply, and you will enjoy it. And you will pay for it as well. We may well still say “vive la France,” but we can no longer say that about unborn babies there. Long life for babies is clearly not part of their idea of “liberty, equality, fraternity”.

  1. Thanks, Bill, for keeping us informed of these reprehensible developments. What is the level of funding in Australia? I seem to recall that we’ve gone a step further and continue to fund even late term abortions.

  2. This is sick but not surprising from a socialist government. Unfortunately Australia really isn’t that far away from this either. We already part fund abortions. We are also forced as tax-payers to do this even though it is against our religious beliefs. Not only this, but we are forced to pay for the education system that indoctrinates our children into believing that abortion is fine, homosexuality is normal and good and that sexuality is to be explored as long as protection is used. It doesn’t matter if a parent decides to homeschool their children, they are still forced to pay into the under-performing education system that is designed to teach the opposite of what many believe.

  3. Yes, I wonder if the voucher system for education became a reality, how many more parents would opt for private schools, because they could then afford it. Not that I believe what they teach there is much different, in fact, it isn’t as they have to comply with state curriculum and it will get worse under the national curriculum.
