The New Invisible People: Those With Trans Regret

Cases of trans regret are now skyrocketing, but the trans tyrants are fighting this and living in denial.

Doing dumb things and later regretting those decisions is a big part of human nature. It happens all the time of course. And some businesses are making big money from those who have had a change of heart and mind. Plenty of examples can be found, such as tattoo-removalists, which are now all the rage.

There is another area in which regret is becoming a growth industry. I refer to trans regret. For various reasons, numerous folks get caught up in the destructive trans ideology. Too often children are led into this by adult activists. So plenty of folks seek to transition out of their birth sex – something that is biologically impossible by the way.

But they will go through all sorts of harmful procedures, be it lopping bits off or trying to attach fake bits, or undergoing regimes of puberty blockers and the like. Then they realise that the problem was NOT physical or biological. The problems that needed to be dealt with were mental, emotional and psychological.

Thus they end up with trans regret and they seek to detransition. But tragically, much of what they may have done in their transitioning process is irreversible. And just as tragic, while plenty is being done to push folks into transitioning, replete with various forms of funding – including taxpayer funding – little is available to help those seeking to detransition.

They are the new invisible people. They are not supposed to exist. But the horror stories keep on coming. Those wanting out of their trans lifestyle are many. And we need to put a human face on the raw numbers. We need to tell the actual stories of those who have had a major rethink about this whole thing. So let me offer a few of these recent cases.

One person who has done so much good in exposing the nefarious nature of the radical trans agenda is Bernard Lane of the Australian. In this past weekend’s edition, he had a lengthy article about all this. Let me share parts of it here:

The first time Tracey was a lesbian, it didn’t last long. She’d left a small New Zealand town for the adventure of university and came out as lesbian. But she hesitated about how to tell her parents. “I went and saw the queer support group — and they supported me to find my trans identity,” she recalls. “It was quite a rapid shift.” She was 18, a bit older than most other teenage girls going transgender in a wave across affluent and anxious counties. Tracey was serious about trans; it took up more than three years of her life.

She ran youth groups for queer school kids and settled into the rhythms of her own identity group on campus, meeting twice a week and sharing lunch. “We became friends in a whole new subculture. The closed-off trans community perpetuates a real feeling of difference. I would look at other young women around campus and think: ‘They’re wearing makeup or they look comfortable — and I don’t feel like that.’”

From the dial-up internet of her home town she graduated to trans broadband, following multimedia stars such as YouTuber Ash Hardell, who looks a bit like Tintin and runs through a cartoonish Q&A about her double mastectomy — “My Insto was flooded with folk who were confident that they knew my breasts, for sure, most definitely, would grow back.”

But like so many, she experienced profound trans regret. And trying to undo what has been done is often the really hard part:

Questions and doubts came in a tumble. “It was very rapid, which was kind of scary because I felt like everything unravelled really quickly, and I think that’s somewhat common. I became really aware that I was going to lose all my friends, lose my whole community as soon as I said I was not trans. I moved cities before I told anyone.”

Ostracism and threats followed her online. Someone wanted her arms broken, she was warned she’d never be allowed to keep a job, not even in a cafe, and a woman unsettled her with a promise “to shout in my face” when they met on the main street. It was harassment at her gym from an obsessive 40-something man, who identified as a woman, that sent her to the police. For Tracey, “detransitioning” was pretty straightforward. She had changed her appearance, her look, but not her body. Anorexia had often put her in hospital and her low body weight meant even gung-ho doctors were unlikely to approve hormones for her.

She knows young women in New Zealand who’ve undergone medical detransition; it seemed harder for them to prove they were “sane enough” to come off testosterone than it had been to begin. Having survived both, she suspects anorexia and trans are not that different. “A lot of young women do express their hate and their discomfort for their bodies and their gender and their role in society through altering the body in shocking ways.” https://www.theaustralian.com.au/inquirer/about-a-girl-and-the-decision-to-detransition/news-story/1fbe4fa35298d3a639ef8b188bf13d11

The whole story is well worth reading. But as mentioned, there are plenty of other cases just like this. Consider the case of Jamie Shupe, the first man in America to be officially declared as ‘non-binary’ (see his picture above):

Four years ago, I wrote about my decision to live as a woman in The New York Times, writing that I had wanted to live “authentically as the woman that I have always been,” and had “effectively traded my white male privilege to become one of America’s most hated minorities.” Three years ago, I decided that I was neither male nor female, but nonbinary—and made headlines after an Oregon judge agreed to let me identify as a third sex, not male or female. Now, I want to live again as the man that I am.

I’m one of the lucky ones. Despite participating in medical transgenderism for six years, my body is still intact. Most people who desist from transgender identities after gender changes can’t say the same. But that’s not to say I got off scot-free. My psyche is eternally scarred, and I’ve got a host of health issues from the grand medical experiment.

But just as seeking to leave Islam, or homosexuality, or atheism, will result in you being seen and treated as a despicable apostate, so too here:

It wasn’t until I came out against the sterilization and mutilation of gender-confused children and transgender military service members in 2017 that LGBT organizations stopped helping me. Most of the media retreated with them. Overnight, I went from being a liberal media darling to a conservative pariah.

Both groups quickly began to realize that the transgender community had a runaway on their hands. Their solution was to completely ignore me and what my story had become. They also stopped acknowledging that I was behind the nonbinary option that now exists in 11 states. The truth is that my sex change to nonbinary was a medical and scientific fraud.

He concludes:

Two fake gender identities couldn’t hide the truth of my biological reality. There is no third gender or third sex. Like me, intersex people are either male or female. Their condition is the result of a disorder of sexual development, and they need help and compassion. I played my part in pushing forward this grand illusion. I’m not the victim here. My wife, daughter, and the American taxpayers are—they are the real victims. https://www.dailysignal.com/2019/03/10/i-was-americas-first-non-binary-person-it-was-all-a-sham/amp/

While many of these cases have no religious underpinnings, sometimes a religious conversion has helped people to think straight – no pun intended – and has resulted in the detransitioning process. Consider just one such case, that of Georgian man, Jeffrey McCall:

He formerly lived as a trans “woman” and went by the name, “Scarlet.” Instead of dressing as a woman, McCall now wears a bright red tee shirt emblazoned with ‘JESUS’ in big letters across his chest. “I was living as a female,” McCall told the crowd. He explained that when he was younger, he saw a psychiatrist and was about to begin a series of gender transitioning surgeries.

“One night I was secretly listening to a preacher in my apartment,” recalled McCall. “I called out to the Lord, and asked, ‘Will I ever live for you? … I’ve seen real people live for you … not just going to church; They have relationships with you, and they have peace and joy.” “I had wanted to kill myself,” he said. “I was spiritually bankrupt; I was destitute.” And at that moment McCall knew he “was being convicted by the Holy Spirit that there is so much more than [what] I had been a part of.”

McCall, who up until that time had been an activist pushing for transgender rights, told Jesus, ‘If I follow you, it will be all the way.  I don’t do things half-way. I didn’t do things half-way in the world; I’m not going to do things half-way with you.’ “And so I took all my life as Scarlet and I went to a dumpster and threw it all away—the clothes, the hair, the make-up, the jewelry, the shoes, my whole identity—I threw it away to follow Jesus.” https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/former-trans-woman-i-dumped-my-dresses-hair-makeup-to-follow-jesus

The number of cases of those with trans regret is skyrocketing. There are even websites that have been set up to help people seeking to detransition, such as https://sexchangeregret.com/ . But as is always the case with the radical secular left, such individuals and sites are the subject of leftist rage and denial. Consider just one recent example:

A psychotherapist who wanted to research reverse gender reassignment claimed that he had his academic proposal rejected because his university was scared of backlash from trans community, the High Court heard. James Caspian, 59, planned to study the experiences of people who have detransitioned as part of an MA at Bath Spa University, but his idea was rejected because it was “too ethically complex for a piece of research at master’s level”. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2019/02/19/proposal-research-trans-regret-rejected-university-fear-backlash/

Yep, that is what we are up against. You are NOT allowed to detransition – you are not even allowed to think about it. Welcome to the Brave New World of Trans Tyranny.

  1. Hi Bill,

Outrageously complicated Gender confusion, entertained by an ideological minority, bent to destroy mentally incapacitated youth and older, people, with satanically inspired gender politic.

Sadly though, many well-meaning politicians and medicos are supporting this barbaric lie.

However, we, God’s people, must take some of the blame, regarding refraining from speaking out generally through the churches and in the workplace, regarding dangerously gender ideology and many other iniquities (sinful behaviour), which are being dished up daily in the media, and specifically the social – Socialistic media platforms, the latest Climate rebellion strikes by the school children and far-left super-glue brigade!

    But her is the clue what to do as God’s people;

    2 Chronicles 7:14
if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

    Cheers & blessings

    Eric

  2. The transgender issue has personally impacted me and many other Christian parents who are watching on in despair as the world seeks to destroy our children (adult children as well as the young ones). Other Christians might well wonder how they may move against this despicable agenda. I’d encourage you all to start by sharing Bill’s articles on this issue as widely as you can on social media. Truth needs to be told whether it is recognised as truth or not but it seems that a rare few have the courage to speak. And if your church is uncertain how to start equipping Christians to deal with the transgender issue when it comes to your doorstep via a grieving Christian brother or sister, the linked article provides a few simple suggestions as a starting point.

  3. A few healthy court cases will help the cause along.
Boy! is that going to be messy though.

  4. A big thanks to “Anonymous by Request” and the links that were shared in that comment. I appreciate resources like this, especially as my church is dialoguing this fall about how we can grow in understanding and response.

  5. The left-leaning Wikipedia begrudgingly includes an article on Detransition.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Detransition

However the article comes with the following caveats: “The neutrality of this article is disputed,” “This section needs more medical references for verification or relies too heavily on primary sources.”

Walt Heyer’s story is covered in one sentence. Many other Trans-Regret stories have been deleted.

While there are thousands of articles on LGBT in Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portal:LGBT
those who detransition are Wikipedia’s Invisible People.

  6. Glad you found the link helpful, Belinda Kuhn. I have had some positive feedback from several in the US who have found it so – printing it off for their churches as a starting point for discussion. If you do use the article, I would be interested to hear from you as to how it was received in your church and any plans you have for moving forward. Bill could put you in touch with me if you wish to. Blessings.

  7. Hi Bill.. I’m wondering when these butchered people will begin to take legal actions against the LGBT community that propagandized them as well as the horrible surgeons and clinics? I sincerely hope so– and that they will succeed! Money and power seem to be the only things that matter to them.

  8. Hey Bill. A dear friend of mine is very upset as her 19yr old daughter has come out as “non binary” and is saying she wants to have surgery to remove her female parts. My friend is standing her ground and her daughter is now gonna move out. She’s angry at her mum for not validating her non binary identity. Can you point to what you think is the best article on your site for this specific situation? Thanks. My friend is very upset about this but doesn’t have enough knowledge on the subject.
No need to print this. An email to me is ok. Thanks
